Not only my keyboard but also the fan of my Acer 5755 just gave in recently. I tried looking into it myself but was shocked how hard it was to even locate where the keyboard is. So thank you so much for this replacement guide! It helps a lot! Replacing the fan will hopefully be a lot easier. :)

With how many screws and pieces of tape hold the keyboard to the plastic bezel alone, you'd think that this computer was meant to do a moon landing or something.

Thanks for the video. I've swapped out dozens of LT keyboards and I always look for a video or something to find out where the hidden catches/screws/etc are. I laughed when I saw how much the system had to be disassembled just to get at the keyboard. Anyways, I got it swapped and back together with no efp's so thank you.

Hello! Changing the keyboard is something i will have to do in near future... "S" "K" "6" "J" an "X" are my "problem-keys". So, my question is, if i will have to replace the sticky foil that secures the screws. Or can i lleave them "unsecured".

I had to clean my fan. Acer Aspire 5755g isnt That easy to clean. I had to biuld everything out. Thanks to you videoposter, the First steps we're easy thanks to you

what's wrong between you and the plastic cover? however, after i've done it, i see bulges between my keys, and the keys near the buckles don't work at all. i assured that the screws were tight so i don't know... if you know something tell me, by the way don't disassemble it if you needn't

Hi, I have this model of acer and thanks for the Video , it helped me a lot. I could successfully remove the keyboard from the motherboard by removing the cable and i want to use an external keyboard as of now . But putting back everything except that cable, my laptop doesnot boot. Plz Help..!!! :P

Jeez! The older Acers had easy keyboard removal... this is getting into Apple-land for difficulty.

Can't believe this is what is required to change the keyboard, actually tempts me to stick with my faulty delete button that constantly prompts me to delete things I click on, that's how bad it is :(

I have that exact same problem, as well as a raft of other keyboard issues like around a third of the letters don’t work, so I have folders named things like “schoo”. From what I’d read online it was probably a virus, but after performing a scan and fixing up a couple of dodgy files the problem remained. I’m back to holding out hope now, thanks. Did you ever end up sorting it out?

@@ajmalismail7427 I ended up just biting the bullet and replacing the keyboard. Worked. The irritation of having to replace it has been far outweighed by not being so frustrated by the non-working keys.

@@RiffRaffMama. Unfortunately those keys that I mentioned previously work sometimes. So that makes me to rethink about going forward for a replacement. Any idea?

Yes you can increase the ram upto 8GB easily.

@@TechstoreCoIn it shows 4 slots in task manager when I opened ram slot there is only two i bought Additional 2 ram sticks but no use i have already 1 slot 4 GB and another 2GB. I Bought it accidentally because i saw 4 slots 🥲😭

OMG, my keyboard has replaced for 3,4 times with in warranty period, now it start again misbehaving, can you please tell me if i connect an external keybord, will it work?

Yes it will work. Always! I recommend using one of those rubber ones. Yi can get some good quality ones

I got the same laptop its realy a pain in the ass its overheating the grapicscard is broken and the worst of it i cant even clean that damn thing..... and i did like acer but not anymore :/

There is no clarity as to how to reconnect the keyboard cable. I am currently stuck at that point. I know where it came out of but it's not cooperating for going back in.

I got it figured out. I was paranoid about damaging the cable but it does slot in but takes some force. Quite nerve-wracking. Otherwise, great video but would have preferred narration instead of music.
