Such an injustice that he's not in the Rock Hall. This man ruled the 70's, then the Damn Yankees in the 80's . My first concert in 1978. I've seen him no less than 15 times and he never disappoints.

Three things I like about Ted. First, he puts all his energy into a show and never fails to entertain (I saw him 5 times in concert), He always looks like he is having fun and never takes himself too seriously when he is playing music. And Three - he plays good old rock n' roll style of guitar - every time he plays a song, the solo is never exactly the same twice.

I remember seeing this performance on TV back in 1978, and think Ted was so cool. I became a fan when I saw this. The hall of fame is no hall of fame without Mr. Nugent in it.

I stayed up late on a Saturday night at 12 midnight to watch this show as a teenager. It was way past my bedtime. It was the weekly Midnight Special with live music every weekend. I just bought Teds album and I wanted to see him play and I turned the TV up. And he blasted the place! Ted did not disappoint me! He rocked hard! I was never into Metal but I loved hard rock like Aerosmith, Heart and the Nuge! Thanks to KZfaq I get to see this again! I remember Wolfman Jack too! 🎸😎👏🏻
@2008PLS11 ай бұрын
I always liked stripped down good playing! Not that effects drenched metal screaming and tapping. Came off so gimmicky and all those bands had the same pedal and effects. There was an assembly line of metal bands that came out after Van Halen (Hair Bands). Always liked it better when it was just Rockn' Roll and you did your own thing
@bryanlongshore61986 ай бұрын
Right on...I'm 60...so I was 15 in 78....those were the good old days for rocknroll and partying.....and those bands you named are classic rock bands.....I also liked Zepplin, Sabbath, and Skynyrd and BTO and ZZTop, and Floyd.....hell..I never cut my hair because of this music....Rocknroll!!!!!!!
@dynjarren83556 ай бұрын
@@bryanlongshore6198 Man that show was so great! Live music at midnight on TV! I stayed up late for it every weekend. Nugent rocked the place! I had never heard hard rock guitar chords like that on TV before! I was thrilled! That will never happen again. Those were good times! I doubt he would accept it nowadays....but it's a shame the Rock-n-Roll HOF wankers will not select him to go into the HOF because of their political bias.
@ibleedwhiskeyplanet15445 жыл бұрын
It's why us metal heads, who are supposedly stupid, take the hall of fame as nothing but a fucking joke. Being in it should mean something, to so many of us, it doesn't. It's nothing but a big building that's there to take suckers money. IT SHOULD BE ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC, but you've got these Rolling Stone (does that zine suck or what) types who are more interested in politics than music, and what the flying fuck does, or should, politics have to do with music? Problem #2-the HOF is trendy, accepting groups or a person popular at the time versus someone who has made a REAL contribution over many years, but those years happened 20-30-40 years ago (in other words their real reason for being is to make money, NOT GIVE TRIBUTE TO THE ROCK AND ROLL BANDS that are the reason for their existence), and there is the most damning evidence that this is not a true rock and roll hall of fame, it is just the best one the administrators have come up with in hopes of drawing your cash out of your pocket. It's a FUCKING JOKE. PERIOD.

@mrHoppedupford5 жыл бұрын
@@barklordofthesith2997 So if a guitarist isn't virtuoso they can't be one of he best? So those you mention are better than Page, Hendrix, Young, SRV. Again being a great guitarist is more than playing fancy chords real fast that sounds robotic.
@barklordofthesith29975 жыл бұрын
TJ - "One of the greatest guitar players" Also TJ - " if a guitarist isn't virtuoso they can't be one of he best?" No, they cannot. They can be a great songwriter (Kurt Cobain) but not one of the best guitarists. Also, if you think the playing of anyone i listed sounds "robotic" you need to get your ears checked.
