Definitely one of my favorite singers. His music is timeless and his voice is unmatched. After his accident, it was a wonder that Teddy was able to talk, let alone, sing! It just shows the vocal strength that this man has. To a wonderful singer....Mr. Teddy Pendergrass
@djbigpean14 жыл бұрын
The accident happen a few days before his birthday in 1982. Wow, to live trough that, you must be a strong person. Him & Christopher Reeves are definitely strong to live for so many years to live with their spinal condition. R.I.P. Teddy!!

It's was so sad to see two vibrant, active, bright and talented individuals, like Teddy P and Chris Reeve, have to have faced the kind of tragedies that changed their life dramatically, from that point on...I admire the fact, that, Teddy was a realist and wanted to focus on how he could live life to his fullest, in spite of his then condition...It's interesting how, in the blink of an eye, life can change from triumph to tragedy...Teddy's sweet, soulful and seductive songs will live on forever!
@jane_71934 жыл бұрын
Can you imagine, this talented man was just a young bloke when he was celebrated as such a gifted singer and performer, he was under 30 years of age! And despite his young years, his artistry was highly developed and matured. What amazing man Teddy Pendergrass was. His spirit and soul are eternal.

Interesting interview, esp. Pendergrass's clear distantiation from the Christopher Reeves position on disability activism. As Pendergrass puts it here: ‘I don’t want to foster [an expectation of] cure, I don’t think that’s a real thing to foster, for me I’d rather foster, emphasise, quality of life, I think that’s more important’.

It's hard for people who once had the ability to walk normally to accept the fact that their injury is a permanent one, to the point where they can NEVER walk again! Everyone handles it differently. One can't fault the late Christopher Reeve for trying to find ways to make that possible again. But I think Teddy is taking a better approach. Spinal cord injury survivors need help NOW to live better, productive lives in spite of their disability!

Read his autobiography "Truly Blessed", that book on Teddys life and the tragic event b4 and after the accident clears up all the ridiculous accusations. The answer to your question is in his book. Its a shame you had to use this site to view a question to an event that happened so long ago in his life. This site should be about people who are making their views on the artists musical talent and capabilities. And trust me without a shred of doubt Teddy Pendergrass has this in abundance.

Well, in the the interview, Teddy talks about that awful incident that cause his spinal cord injury. Since the subject was raise by Teddy and the interviewer, I think that it is appropriate to ask about the other person that was in the car when that infamous accident occurred. I was not asking the question in the negative nor was I calling his musical talent and capabilities into question. I was simply asking a question about a well-known event. Excuse me if I offended you.
