Your green knob isn't lined up with that spinning thing crack, as opposed to other knobs, and it makes me so uncomfortable

Your side commentary about your fingers hurting and "send help plz" (8:30) made me genuinely smile for the first time today. I love the conversational way you cover all this info with us, J. Keep rocking the videos!

This just sold me on the op-z. So amazing what you’re able to do with just a little pattern.

I love this as a stand-alone unit. I love it more as a sequencer providing varying step counts, lengths, and step components into Ableton Live. It can sequence other synths too.

Very clear, learnt a few tricks :-).. could you cover the linking track feature in a future video? and what the practical uses might be.. I can’t find a straight forward explanation/example.. I read somewhere it can be used to link up the vfx to another track(kick for example) but I haven’t managed to get it working properly. Thanks!!

Did you ever try? One nice thing to do with step components is to create a sequence with a stepcount like 2 or 4. Fill it up densely with notes and throw in some multi, random and some sparks... FUN TIME!

I think Brian Eno said sequencers replace skill with judgement... you sir are very skilled AND you have great judgement! And the op-z is like alien tech. Whenever I use the repeat or hold components, the chaotic timing is too much of a mess. (working on my judgment) But Jump+9 can help to bring everything back to global alignment.
@RedMeansRecording
@RedMeansRecording 5 жыл бұрын
See, but that chaos is so good sometimes. Having things not repeat statically is so powerful in a sequence

Is it me or is the tonality shift step component extremely unpredictable? Sometimes it doesn’t work as you expect, sometimes it doesn’t work at all. Seems like Jeremy experienced the same thing. It’s one of those step components which would be SUPER powerful in giving depths to patterns but it’s just not that usable
