Also, i dont think they’re only supporting apple currently because of their aesthetics. Its because they have a much better control over the software and how it runs. Android has tons of different devices and that makes it difficult to keep the software running consistently on all devices

Other examples are SONOS speakers. The trueplay tuning feature is only available on apple because its easier to make sure that the tuning is consistent. The amount of android devices makes it difficult to ensure a consistent tuning

yo back! at the moment it depends on what level of control you want. you can extend step length and live record over 4 bars, however actual step count remains 16. for true 64 step / 24 ticks per step resolution, pattern chaining as you suggest, is the way to go. sometimes needed, sometimes not... thanks for your support! teenage.engineering/guides/op-z/track#step-length

QUESTION. Does it send any MIDI and/or Audio over USB/Bluetooth to iOS App? Can I drive iPhone synth with OP-Z sequencer with midi or get audio directly to iPad DAW (Gadget, Cubasis, Garage Band). It looks an awesome device IF it can be part of my mobile production. Otherwise it just luxury, overpriced toddler-piano :) I play less of my Moog or guitars, just because connecting audio to interface and DAW recording is indeed inspiration killer. If I have to record the result of OP-Z blast session thru the ear-buds output, it no use I think. TNX!

@bwest6275

AT the very least, OP-Z has USB host capability, so you can directly connect OP-1 to OP-Z via USB cable. Aside from OP-1 acting as the keyboard controller (much nicer to lay notes with), I am not sure what other benefits would exist with this combo.

is this just a 16 beat sequencer?!
@TB-wvvvw
@TB-wvvvw Жыл бұрын
The number of steps you can save on OP-Z has increased since this video was originally made. As before, you have 16 kinds of tracks (including tonal, percussive, effects tracks, etc.) playing together, and up to 16 steps for them (you can also have different numbers of steps in different tracks simultaneously) and this makes a 'pattern'. You can save 10 projects, each with 16 different unique patterns saved. But nowadays thanks to improvements from TE, taking from those 16 you can save 14 chains of up to 32 patterns each, so it would be 16 * 32 = 512 steps in each of the 14 chains in each of the 10 projects. On top of that you have things you can do to cause variations in patterns when they play. It's a really nice sequencer.

What's up with the weird surface texture on the OP-Z? Is this intentional or was it an injection molding issue? It looks like a thousand greasy fingers have been wiped all over it. If it's not intentional I hope it gets solved in future production runs. If this is intentional it's an odd choice for a surface finish on a $600 product.
