yea, i hate it when they say "oh just let go back to neutral", i get what they mean, but it can also confuse some people who try to literally let it go and then try to press back afterwards, and realize it doesn't work, so it's just my method, not saying its the only method but just what I've found to work best

nah lol this was a stick i customized to gift to a friend. He has it, my daily driver is the Razer panthera original. But this is a pretty good, mid range stick too, the only thing i didn't like is the cable management door...it's so flimsy

no problem thanks for watching! i just made this for a friend, it was a private video initially because i modded this exact stick in the video, and gifted it to him, and since he never used a stick, i made this video for him lol. But after i made it public, i've been getting some good responses from people who also had a hard time doing the BDC. I can't say it works for everyone, it's my personal method, but you can clearly see my movement is fine right? so it should work for most people, korean lever or japanese lever, it's the same method i've used when i was a long time japanese lever user prior to switching to korean lever. But yea, the best way is to practice using Sway characters so you get the actual proper KBD method down. Maybe it also helps because this video is in a first person view? so you can see it as if you're using the stick.

@@bludika Yeah your method works well for me. I played on Japanese levers for the longest time as well but switched to K levers a couple of years ago. Started with a 303FK then 309MJ, HelpMe, tried a Taeyoung for a while but for now am using a Crazy Dong Pal. Believe it or not I had more trouble on P1 side b/c I'd always just wave dash backwards. The "keeping your thumb" on the stick while going to down back was what really did the trick for me and helped me eliminate the unintentional down input I'd get frequently. Your P2 side helped me clean it up on that side in much he same manner as I'd also wave dash that way. I saw this video in my recommended vids and initially thought, "Another KBD tutorial. I already know how to do it but I just can't clean it up for some reason. But, why not, let's give this one a shot". I was pleasantly surprised. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again.

@@Jayhachi88 np, i actually feel even more comfortable on P2 side, i've always been good on p1 side since its obviously easier, but just average on p2 side, but after taking some time to practice, i've gotten better and i now prefer p2 side more than p1 side just for comfort, but that's just me, whenever i play online, i just alternate every time i switch characters, p1 first, then p2, and back to p1, and so on. i too have a Crazy Dongpal lever for myself, i use a razer panthera, this stick in the video is for a friend, but it's equipped with 309 MJ with 35g tension, which is a also a great stick i've used for a while.

@@bludika so what i used to do was release the stick for the free back input and then mash the stick back as fast as i could but couldn't get the back dash. Ofcourse the tutorials i saw before this people were going crazy fast with it and so I thought it was a speed thing. After seeing you video and knowing the technique now i get a few back dashes (slow but successive) that are enough to make the opponent whiff sometimes. I have never played on a stick and it has only been 4/5 days since I got one.. hopefully it gets better over time.

@@Eth3realwarrior okay keep at it, BOTH sides, and with a sway character in practice mode, if you use others without sway, then you can get away with sloppy method, but not proper backdash method.

no problem keep practicing and watch my matches, i do live streams on youtube mostly for fun, but half them if not more are on quick matches because sometimes if streaming, it slows down the match, and i don't want a laggy match on ranked, but i still do ranked match streams via youtube.

Also, I have no trouble with the kbd but I struggle with wave dash on 2 player side with the Korean lever. With the Japanese lever the 2 player side was easy but the 1 player side is hard.

​@@trentf4891 i cant say which is better since i havent tried the myungshin fanta, but for me crown 309mj is an all rounder, seems to satisfy a great deal of people who are new to korean levers. I personally use the 309 mj with 35g tension, fitted with Omron V-152-1A5 microswitches. They are slightly softer than the stock actuators, and activate much easier so i find it much smoother and faster to activate. sorry for the late response didnt see yours until now.

Bludika i remember someone telling me doing the old school kbd isn’t recommended. Unfortunately It’s my only way of back dashing atleast when playing the player 1 side.

glad it helped out, pleas share with anyone struggling with the KBD. This is by no means the only method, this is MY method, and i've been doing it for years and years. It may work for other people, it may not, but i'm sure you get the concept of it, and you can cater it to your own method. Also, this method works on japanese levers with ball tops as well, as long as the inputs you do remain the same, it works just the same on sanwa levers for example, but the speed it comes back to neutral, and the lever tension, etc are all based on your own setting, I use medium tension for korean levers so 35g grommet, which is I say maybe 2.5 LB spring on a sanwa JLF.

thanks! i made this video for a friend who got this very stick in the video as a gift and he's never really used an arcade stick for tekken before, but a good player on pad, he's in the Raijin ranks, but i think he needed the basics tutorial on the korean stick, so i made this. I know it's kind of a rough video, but it's just how i do it, it might not be for everyone, but i think my movement is actually very good, i'm in the Yaksa ranks.

alright good luck, let me know how this tutorial works on it. Mind you though, i use the 35g tension grommet which is medium stiffness, so how it feels in your hands might differ so it could affect your performance IF you're using the default stiffness which i personally find, along with many people to be too loose, but it's all personal preference ultimately.

Bludika sure. I also included a 35tension grommet too so I could test both. Let’s see how it goes. Currently I have a hori rap soul caliber VI and the hori lever is too loose for me and I always have misinputs on ws moves or just by standing from crouch it automatically sidesteps. So it’s a pain for me.

@@deggie3154 yea, Hori parts are absolutely trash, they really need to go back to sanwa. I know they probably did it so that they don't have to rely on a 3rd party vendor for the components so they created their own brand of the buttons and lever, aka the Hayabusa parts, but they are absolutely trash compared to sanwas, i don't even use sanwa anymore, but they're still superior to the hayabusas. I use gamefinger buttons for the buttons. It's funny because 9/10, when you see players using HORI sticks, they take out the lever and buttons on day 1 lmao, barely anybody actually like them.

Bludika alright. I might check the buttons too for more options. Otherwise it’s ok-ish, it’s just too noisy for me.

Bludika now I got the mj309 installed now. It feels weird at first but now I’m getting used to the 35g tension and I’m confident to wavedash on P1 and backdash on p2 and no weird inputs. I can say that this is the lever for me. Period. 👍🏻

@@DragonBallzMoviesHD yea man Crown 309 is a GREAT all arounder. Some people like the crazy dongpal or other korean levers like fanta or myungshin, but Crown 309 is my choice, with 35 gram tension grommet, but my personal mod option is using OMRON microswitches instead of the default Gerseung. Omron switches are softer so they activate easier, so my movement feels buttery smooth. Some might find it too soft feeling compared to the stock, it makes it feel like the stick is looser than it really use, you get used to it.

i suggest getting a korean lever, hayabusa levers are really subpar, nobody really uses them unless they're forced to, most people who are long time stick users tend to switch them out because they're so loose and just not a good lever in general, Get a Crown 309 MJ with 35 tension grommet or Alpha Lever 49S with 35 tension grommet.

@@BLKJACC its preference but korean levers are circle gates, no defined corners but you will get used to it quick. Just that haybusa lever in general is just junk in my opinion and many people agree, if you look at streams and pros using HORI sticks, almost 98% of them just remove the stock parts and install different buttons and lever because the hayabusa parts just not good at all....

lol well getting good at tekken has much more than just backdash cancel and movement, it's extremely important but it's only a drop in the bucket, you still need to learn match ups, defense, block punish, whiff punish, frame knowledge, execution, combos, etc. Movement is part of it

sanwa is the most standard one, what lever is pretty depends on your mileage, go check out focus attack and their battops, pretty easy to do, just need flat head and screw drivers.

no, helpme requires drilling, thats why 309 MJ is the exact stick you need for the RAP PRO N or any other stick that comes with a japanese stick by default. Helpme stick is nothing special, just the same as crown 309 with the 35 tension grommet by default, while crown 309 by default has a loose grommet which is 25 grams. So crown 309 MJ is the lever for this stick to avoid drilling.

could, but that lever is not for everyone, the diagonals are too tight, i use the Knee lever now which is a perfect balance, Crown 309 is fine but the actuator is too big so you can get random down inputs but Knee lever is in between CDP lever and Crown 309 in terms of actuator size.

Bludika gotcha, thanks for that info, i was on the fence of the Knee lever or the Cdp, went with crazy dongpal as reviews were saying Knees lever felt a bit too tuned to his personal taste which felt off to others, but i will keep that in mind. @@CBHPwnz it doesn't really matter ultimately, being able to wavedash or throw out electrics doesn't mean anything if your movement sucks, or defense sucks, your punishment is non existent, etc, no lever is gonna make you do those things so it really doesn't matter as much as you think, mishimas can be played on any stick.

@@bludika Any idea what your actuator size is? I have a Sanjuks V6. been trying to find the right tension grommet and right size actuator. Currently using a large actuator (15.4) which is probably screwing me up a little and using a ST20 grommet, which i think might be a little slow in return to neutral

its a Crown 309 korean lever, and the buttons are sanwas. I no longer use these parts though, because i now use the Knee lever and gamerfinger buttons, this stick was a gift i gave to a friend. Hayabusa buttons I find are horrendous and also their lever

it can be done with japanese levers too, i did use a sanwa JLF for a gooood 2-3 years at first, and its the same technique i've been using since then. Only difference is, i used a 2 LB -2.5LB spring because i find the default spring way too loose for my taste. The key is to let the stick come back to neutral fast and I find korean levers better in that department. Look into Alpha Lever 49S, it's the poor man's version of the Knee Lever, almost the same parts without the aluminum actuator, thats about it, i just got the knee lever for myself since i like knee thats all.

thanks for the quick reply... that works. I was also trying the CPU repeat action for recording the move of CPU player. There is an icon that looks like two squares. I cant figure out what that button is. To record it says press "Two square button + B" .

hey, the stick is the PRO N model, and it's just as easy as removing the old stick by unscrewing the 4 screws, then screw in the new korean lever body, thats it, given you got the MJ model.

@@bludika Thanks man, recently received the stick before I get the MJ (possibly) I bought a Battop handle just to try out the feeling before paying like 30+ for a korean lever and the battop feels fine at the moment, might just stick with it for a bit and get the MJ later, great stick btw!

what lever? also what switches you got? if you got faulty switches, it may give a different feel or sound, they are consumables so they can go bad or they're defective right out of the box. I prefer Omron switches because they are reliable and long lasting

i know there IS but sony tv is actually pretty good for gaming. But of course it feels different from like a 144 hz monitor, i've played on a gaming monitor before once and it did feel really odd, but if you just want to play on a large tv, then Sony is good. I'm I can maybe play slightly better on a gaming monitor but i like large TV's so i'll take that trade off

no you dont have to if you buy the correct model, Crown 309 MJ fits retail arcade sticks and doesn't require drilling, J means japanese mounting aka sanwa stick mounting points

@@shadowlite18 no, the grommet which determines the tension is inside the lever, so you can just use it stock which is similar to the stock japanese lever setting, or you can just take it apart, which all you need is a screw driver, to a medium or hard tension grommet. Check Focus attack, 25 gram tension is the default, medium is 35 gram, stiff is 45g. I say order the 35g along with the 309MJ lever, and the wiring harness you need to connect to your current stick, and see how the stiffness is, if its too loose, then install the 35g tension grommet.

nah i have not, but i've heard its really stiff even as a default setting, i don't like my levers too stiff, i like medium tension because too loose then it feels too floppy and i can't be precise, and if it's too stiff, my movement feels sluggish and it gets tiring, so medium tension is what i like for my stick

is it updated to the latest firmware? first disconnect the stick from your PS4, then turn on the ps4, or if it's already on, then that's fine, as long as you disconnected the stick. Then HOLD DOWN L2, and keep holding it down as you plug in the usb, then let go of the L2, press the ps button, i do this every time, and works just fine for me, i actually have a Female to Female usb extension cord so that i don't have to literally take my stick to the ps4 console every time, i do it right at my desk while the console is about 6-7 feet away.

get the Crown 309 MJ man, with 35 tension grommet, and make sure to get the wire harness. arcadeshock.com/products/samducksa-cwl-309mj-dx-joystick This has the perfect tension, so all you have to do is buy and install. This specific stick is used in the video, I have the same stick too but just made some changes to fit my needs, but its still the same model, i'm a bit of a mod fanatic so i make personal changes to my sticks.

@@bludika half the people in the community seems to think that there’s no advantage to sing a fight stick over a pad which is just wrong. Try doing 2 full circles on pad. Quarter circles are easier too
