He also does clarify that if she truly had time manipulation like he did fixing this shouldn't be a problem at all. It is then clarified that Hachi needs to have complete information to do the time manipulation, and cut ahead to after the kidnapping and Aizen tests her ability out by reforming grimmjow's arm with 0 information. Aizen then clarifies that she doesn't manipulate time, she rejects reality. This is more akin to tsukishima's book of the end than to hachi's kido. Book of the end creates a second timeline with a seperate past and convinces reality that both timelines are correct, preventing a large scale time disaster and allowing him to manipulate reality. And on that note, I'm more interested in what was up with THAT ability. That is probably the single most OP ability in the series if used correctly, although Orohime's ability and Ywach's ability are equally op in completely different ways.

And it makes sense that her ability and Hachi's are similar, if Fullbrings have traces of Hollow in them. Because Orihime's powers were activated because of her exposure to Ichigo's reiatsu, so maybe she has a bit of shinigami powers too? And Hachi's kido is a shinigami ability. So she's a hybrid of sorts?? _Kubo, EXPLAIN!_ XD

@@SonnybedaBunny it is explained in can't fear your own world that fullbrings aren't actually hollow powers. Fullbrings are actually shards of the soul king. These shards attract hollows, which is the reason many believe they are caused by hollow attacks. In all actuality, the powers are awakened either by the hogyoku or by danger from hollows, and Chad and Orihime are both abnormal fullbringers in that they were awakened by the hogyoku, which explains why what they do is so... odd. Other fullbrings don't use the user's own organs as a catalyst like chad, nor do they inhabit the souls of their lost grandparents. And orihime is kinda just... very different to say the least. Taking this into account, you could actually argue that fullbringers are quincies outside the lineage of yhwach. There is no canon statements as such, but pieces of the soul king become quincies canonically and yhwach bestows pieces of the soul king to quincies, and it is implied he could give pieces of the soul king to normal humans because of the whole miracle baby backstory. The quincy history of B explains how that one guy was yhwachs other half and didn't have normal quincy powers, and yet was able to fight with a sword and be stronger than B... it makes me wonder if he fought with a fullbring. It would certainly explain a lot of questions. That being said, this is just head canon, kubo has never said fullbringers are quincies or that yhwachs other half had a fullbring. All we know is there is some connection between fullbringers and quincies because of the direct connection to the soul king's body.

That would have been cool, like imagine it caught him by surprise, he got slightly injured then got serious and that's when he hit her. At least it would have given her character some credit. Seriously Chad and Orihime got shafted so hard.

I agree that Orihime's powers are somehow connected to hell. Also, I think she's a fullbringer added with something else. Orihime and Chad have different types of abilities and fullbringers can truly have ANY sort of ability per their personality, but there is no definitive statement saying that they can't be more than that. In addition, being compatible with Ichigo takes a lot of energy and willpower. She needs to be able to protect a God and Ichigo's true bankai is God-status. So, being "Gods shield" makes a lot of sense. I will say though that Kubo has A LOT going on in this series - understatement, I know - so he might not have been able to add all of these little details about Orihime. I surely don't doubt that this new Hell arc (an arc I've been looking forward to for years) will tell us more about Orihime and the Kurosaki bloodline as a whole (I know the bloodline was revealed in ebtr but I think there's more to unpack here).

I'm terms of character and writing, Orihime is not great but is not as bad as most of her haters make it to be, and also I relate a lot to her personality wise and the thing is that I had the tendency to dislike characters I relate to because I didn't held myself in a high regard, just like Orihime did with herself.

Would explain why keigo seems to be way more in-tune, remembering that ichigo gave him some of his spiritual power to save him and I guess plausible too that half of ichigo's classmates got the same influence as well, which wouldnt surprise me at all

@@Justic_ When a Plus becomes a Hollow the Desire takes control of the Spirit's "body" and seals the Self behind the mask. This is why when Orihime's brother, Sora's, mask was destroyed in the first Arc he was able to temporarily regain himself. An Arrancar likewise breaks their mask and regains a human like form and human level of intellect. So, in essence, Yes. The Arrancar's true power is sealed in their Swords, it would be inaccurate to call them true Zanpakuto based on what we learn in the final arc. This is why their release is called a Resurreccion. The Arrancar is resurrecting their true powers. The sword, for the most part, dissipates and their physical form is altered to reflect their appearance before removing the mask. As oppose to a Shingami's Zanpakuto release, which, fundamentally, channels power through the weapon instead. EDIT: This similarity in power source is why there is a blurred line between Shingami and Hollows, allowing for the existence of beings such as Arrancar, Visored, Tosen, whatever White was, and Uhrahara being able to temporarily Hollowfy Toshiro. It is also why Ichigo's Hollow powers, Shingami, and remaining Full-bring powers were able to basically merge into one. While his Quincy powers could not, as they are completely separate in origin and function.

If you are familiar with Jungian psychology, you could go even further beyond and call it the Self and the Shadow, which could be it's own big ass analysis on it's own, since Jung worked with archetypes (and the principles of Joseph Campbell's work; "The Hero with a 1000 faces", which in on itself describes the foundation of how many myths came to be). But mostly, the power of symbols to express our subconscious mind. I love me some analytical psychology analysis of fiction, specially when the narrative is so well interwoven with these topics.

@@vitlaska I'm not too familiar with it beyond the concepts of the Id, Ego, and Superego, which I used for the base construction of my theory. The Superego in this case would be represented by Quincy Abilities. Firstly, unlike Hollow or Shinigami powers, Quincy powers are not something innate found within any soul. From what we see with Ichigo's Old Man Zangetsu, Quincy powers are basically an internal manifestation of Yhwah Bach and his values. Additionally, Quincy, for the most part, do not use their own internal power, Reiryoku, to fight, they pull Reishi from their surroundings, similar to how the Superego is a reflection of the society one is in. The Superego is also sometimes referred to as the moral code of society, which is seen in how the Quincy see themselves as a Holy Army purifying the immoral. This puts them at odds with Hollows representing the Id. Hollows' nature of operating on base desires of the self is toxic to the Quincy that rely on the Code of Yhwah. Finding the balance between his Hollow powers and his Quincy Powers, his Id and Superego, is what makes end game Ichigo so powerful.

Ichigo, whenever has to obtain power, calls out for Zangetsu. Previous to the TYBW arc, Ichigo thought Zangetsu was the Old Man Yhwach. But, as noted by the Quincy himself, the power came from the true Zangetsu, whom the fanbase came to call'em White or Hollow Ichigo. White is a very special character, besides being his Zampakutou spirit AND his hollow spirit at once; White is constantly denied by Ichigo when he says that he is Zangetsu, believing in the persona created by Old Man Yhwach. White is Ichigo's Shadow, the representation of power he wants to have, control of the zampakutou, mastery of the hollow mask, battle instincts; but also the aspects of his personality he doesn't want to acknowledge; like his "battle-lust" _(I think bloodlust is not the right word)_ , just like Grimmjow pointed out _(I don't think it was a bullshit taunt when he told Ichigo that part of why he came to Hueco Mundo was to fight him once again; as to save Orihime, you'd probably need to fight Grimmjow at some point)_ , his guilt; as it was a hollow that killed his mother _(much to his surprise, he'd find out he'd have part of that same hollow inside of him)_ . With all of that burden represented into one being living inside him, Ichigo despises White and rejects this side of his, fearing the repercussions of letting his hollow powers go loose, although perhaps uncounsciously wanting White by his side more and more, as White is Ichigo _(The Blade is Me)_ . Thus whenever Ichigo trains or battles inside his subconscious, it's White who shows up to battle Ichigo and somehow guide him towards getting stronger and more like what he want's to become, and accepting what he wants to reject. Then, we're all too familiar when Ichigo gets cero-escura'd by Ulquiorra, before made to feel extreme *powerlessness* and *useless* ; something that traumatized Ichigo from a young age. After hearing Orihime's plead for help, _something happens_ ; Ichigo is reawoken as a complete hollowed out version, indicating that his shadow took over his ego. If you seen movies like Black Swan or Fight-Club you know why this kind of stuff is VERY dangerous, if we were to use White's words to describe this situation, the shadow should NEVER be the "King", leaving the ego to be the "Horse". Ichigo gains a massive power boost _(maybe because, or in addition, of the power restrictions that Old Man Yhwach couldn't be mantained in this form)_ because the shadow knows way more about the person than the ego, on the unconscious level even. So every worry, every hesitation, every doubt in Ichigo's heart was numb in this form, substituted with what Ichigo loooooves: battling strong oponents. That's why I think Ichigo stabbed uryuu; he just wanted to battle and battle, perhaps with only one direction in mind; which was what "awoken" this in the first place: protect Orihime. When the dust settled, to say that Ichigo felt remorse would be an understatement, he repudiated his shadow's attempt at defending their comrade's lifes that he really asked his enemy, the one who captured Orihime, to chop his arm and leg off so they be "even". That's a huge ammount of guilt and/or shame, perhaps acknowledgement for breaking his horn to stop his cero. There's a shit ton more moments, like when Ichigo was a husk on the Lost Agent/Fullbringer arc, but as the last one I want to focus on the TYBA arc when Ichigo couldn't find an Asauchi that respected him, even with his ginourmous power. Only after Ichigo went to talk to his dad, got a sense of what happened before, brought his deep worries and was able to drag some unconscious tendencies to the conscious thanks to the help of his friends, family, Ichigo's own little Yhwach, and Zangetsu; these last two, who after all the hardships they shared with him, Ichigo was finally able to obtain his own *Self* as a Shinigami _(his conscious and unconscious combined)_ , symbolized by the birth of dual blade Zangetsu, one bigger blade representing his conscious side as a Shinigami/Hollow, and a smaller blade representing his unconscious side, as a Quincy. What's beautiful is that Ichigo goes one step beyond and fuses the Shinigami blade and Quincy blade into Bankai, although it is a secret to everyone, I know one of them is a sheath but fuck me, this is getting layered as fuck already and I think I made several mistakes in my analysis by now.

@@sadsworth4605 not really, the quincy and fullbring powers don't act the same way as hollow and shinigami powers, but it makes sense. Quincy gifts from yhwach are presumably parts the soul king, considering that several of his followers claim to be parts or posses parts, and the hands of the soul king are known to be 1st gen quincies like yhwach. Fullbrings are also outright confirmed to be pieces of the soul king. And as discussed in another comment, it's likely that the first generation of quincies were actually fullbringers made by yhwach, as fullbringers and quincies seem to use all the same rules. What would happen if a fullbringer made a quincy artifact their catalyst? Since their powers come directly from the soul king and function the same way, presumably they would functionally be quincies. It is also worth noting that the Japanese word for honor is closer to the English definition of pride than it is to the English definition of honor, and Chad clarifies to ichigo that to activate a fullbring you must take pride in the catalyst. Quincies take pride in being quincies, and have their "honor of the quincies". That pride is likely what allows them to activate their abilities. It is also worth noting that Uryu in particular has shown to become stronger at key moments when his pride was on the line. For instance, in the souk society. He was defeated, but upon learning about the fate of his grandfather he was suddenly stronger and able to move freely. This is often overlooked since in his rage he removed the glove and got his special power boost afterwards.

Also in one fan game i play she can stop time in a sphere orb and let people she want move. We use to stop time with her and use Ichigo final form slash to finish them in one move as in this game it can be only shot straight and easy to doge

Orihime would fit in really well in Wing Bind! Especially since her powers manifest as fairies, which match the fairytale connection with the West Branch's dragons.

I like this theory and have a similar one myself. However, her abilities clearly and consistently follow the rules of reitsu except in two very specific instances, and both of those instances involve her protecting her lover, and mental state is known to affect reitsu to the extreme. Ichigo vs renji part 1&2 show this, as does ichigo vs yammy. Those 2 outliers are most likely a result of her mentality boosting her power to her full potential for that moment. Rukia kind of touches on this by explaining that Orihime isn't the kind of person that should fight for a multitude of reasons. Showing mercy can be good or bad, but with her OP ability this isn't the real problem. So why would Rukia say that she isn't a good Frontline fighter? The problem is mentality. If she kills and feels guilt, it will reduce her power and stubt her growth. She has to be able to continue to grow stronger in order to be a capable fighter, and therefor she needs a mindset better suited for combat or she will get herself or her allies killed.

@@orua debateable, and I'd say it depends on your definition of a living entity. Mayuri has the ability to create new bankais, which implies the creature he summons is some kind of artificial lifeform. Amortals are not considered living, and using homunculi as a reference, as they are similarly sentient amortal creatures, different media and sources depict them as either object or manmade life. I tend towards the former, as in modern context, a sentient AI isn't alive, because being ALIVE isn't about our experiences or intellect but about physical/biological status. Shinigami are dead, but they are also alive in the sense that they have biology and can experience change. The question is whether or not the bankai can be considered biological, which while possible, I do not think that is the case myself.

Also it can feel pain, why would he feel the need to make it capable of feeling pain, it doesnt help him in any way. I believe his bankai was alot smarter and different before all of his experiments and afterwards he literally made it into what it is now.

Except Chad doesn't have two, he has a single one that manifests in different ways (we don't consider Orihime to have 6 fullbrings). His Fullbringer focus is his skin, which is related to both his pride in his heritage as well as the trauma it has caused him. So realistically, Chad's Fullbring might not have even been done. It having more to it wouldn't even be that crazy seeing as how we've seen amped up versions of Fullbrings in the first place.

@@eclipseslayer98 No, its expanded on in the novels. Fullbringers have parts of the soul king inside of them. When their mothers are attacked by a hollow during pregnancy, the soul king parts are activated giving them powers. In the case of Orihime and Chad they must have soul king pieces but they weren't awakened by a hollow attack. Instead either the Hogyoku or Ichigo's presence activated the soul king pieces for them.

I prefer just fusioning her powers. Attack + Defense = Counter Attack + Heal = Life Steal? Defense + Heal = Regen? Attack + Defense + Heal = Armor?

And sadly, their characters don't really get a chance to do anything in the story
