We really need a Smoker highlight in the future, Smoker always loses when he appears, he doesn't even get to show off.

"Shirohebi" or White Snake with smoker really remind me of a fun WW2 story with Brazil's troops and the whole "A cobra vai fumar" phrase origin (it means "The snake will/shall smoke"), which is something you say when something is hard to do and will be a pain in the ass even after it is done. During WW2, Brazil was a very neutral country for quite a while, it used its neutrality to make deals with both sides of the war that were trying to rope Brazil into their side, so it wasn't a surprise that the sentiment about Brazil going to war with anyone was very pessimistic, "it's easier for a snake to smoke than for Brazil to enter the war" was a phrase commonly said at the time, and although Brazil had an expeditionary force, no one put much faith in it going out nevermind actually completing a mission there. Brazil eventually sent said force to Italy to contribute he Allies war efforts and somehow completed the mission given to them(important to mention that they didn't have good training, equipment or environment. Not even the other nation's soldiers put faith in them). From 25000 recruited men, around 24550 returned alive, from then on, the smoking snake became the symbol of the Brazilian Expeditionary Force, they to this day call themselves the "Smoking Snakes". Which is very on point with Smoker having a snake as the animal representing him as an admiral.

I think that since Smoker can control the smoke that he creates, he would be able to make it dense enough to manipulate objects or capture people with it without using Haki.

I could see Smoker fighting Luffy or fighting along side Luffy to rescue Koby against Black Beard. I think it would be great to see his and Tashigi's growth in the story tbh.

I believe people like Smoker, Lucci, Crocodile have gotten stronger greatly but the Strawhats have gone to a whole new lvl. The Strawhats literally faced the Yonko crews.

Smoker's smoke really seems more like fog to me. Unless if there's instances where people that breathe in smokers smoke actually have trouble breathing since smoke is particles that inhibit breathing whereas fog is basically wet air

This really makes me think. Luffy has the first Zoan fruit, Buggy has the first Paramecia fruit and Smoker has the first Logia fruit. Luffy is a good guy who brings smiles to the down trodden, Buggy makes the villains in his crew smile (barring Mihawk and Crocodile) and Smoker is one of the few good Marines who fights for the general public and makes THEM smile. Additional: they're almost like the 'comedy trio'. Luffy: toon physics Buggy: cartoon reattaching from severe attacks Smoker: leaving a 'cloud of Smoke' behind him for escapes.

Imagine if there was a Cloud Logia. You can do rain, storms, and lightning etc. Also, they could make the "water" clouds in addition to the ideal clouds from skypiea: String, Iron, Milky, and island cloud!

Smoker and Tashigi said they were taking the giant kids to see Dr Vegapunk so that means they might run into the Straw Hat pirates on Egghead Island and that means rematches with Luffy VS Smoker and Zoro VS Tashigi.

You know when we meet Rodger in the Oden flash back and you see him say something like. "If you want to catch me send Garp or Sengoku" I bet near the end we will have a similar situation with Luffy saying "if you want to catch me send Coby or Smokey"

As good a time as any to ask this. Why do some people say Aokiji's fruit is not actually ice itself, just because the name of his fruit (Hie-Hie) means chilly or cold? Enel's fruit is called the "rumble-rumble" fruit for the sound that thunder makes, even though his power is electricity, not just its sound. Robin's power is called "flower-flower" even though it has nothing to do with plants, and its just because of the way her limbs "sprout" out of surfaces, like flowers. And as we're seeing here, Smoker's power is called the "billow" or "plume" fruit, which doesn't necesarily reffer to smoke itself. The point is Oda sometimes takes liberties with the way he names the fruits, the name isn't always a literal description of the power, yet through the years I've seen many people claim that Aokiji's fruit is not "ice", just "cold", because of the fruit's name.

Love to see devil fruit discussions again. Since we don't see awakenings often, it's always nice to hear theories about what they could be.

You know why I like Tekking101. He's authentic. He doesn't have really any Call to Actions. He doesn't have sponsors. And he just, keeps things interesting in the beginning the Failure to Cut, Tekking Tumble, Barrie the indomitable brick. Just random stuff, that makes no real sense, stuff that should send new viewer's away. Just nice change of pace from most other tubers.

It would be cool to see smoker again. Just like Lucci, he could have major upgrades.

I’ve always been curious if he could produce any type of smoke, like could he get his enemies insanely high?

I always imagine that logia awakening allows you to control your respective element as it exists naturally. Smoker could then surround himself and even fuse with that smoke. Even if you use haki there would be no way of telling apart the smoke that makes up Smokers body and the natural smoke from a random fire that he is manipulating. You could punch him with haki but the part you punch could just be natural smoke. This would explain punk hazard, as Akainu could control Magma at the Earth's core, he could bring it up to the surface causing volcanic eruptions and creating volcanic activity. Aokiji could control ice in the clouds and air and could cause giant hail clouds to linger above the battlefield creating aemi-petmanent blizzards. Kizaru could control all light around him, he could block all light from an area creating ares of blackness were no light exist making it impossible to see or areas of extreme blinding light, he could generate light beams from any source of light he sees allowing him to attack an opponent's blind spot. Logia awakenings are something I am and have been waiting for, for a long time and coyld be a huge game changer when it come to power scaling. If Akainu could manipulate magma at the Earth's core then it really makes sense why his would have the greatest offensive potential as has been stated. The guy could literally just cause the ground below you to erupt with magma, he could create whole new islands, heck he could destroy the world by erupting it's core. The possibilities are endless and logia awakening could help Smoker finally get some W's.

He could use his cigars like Joker uses his cigarettes from fire force. Using some sort of hallucination smoke and confuse his enemies.

An important thing to remember is that smoke is a suspension of particles in a gas released when something combusts. While we aren't sure yet what a logia awakening would look like, I think a possibility for Smoker's fruit would be that he can make his smoke particles and/or whatever he touches to be combustible and then control the smoke released from the reaction. That would make his fruit stupidly powerful offensively since he can just make anything explode but also he'd make an absurd amount of smoke that he can then control.

Correction. The reveal of Kurroseki, seasprism, wasn't until Alabasta, when they were caged in the Croco-Cage. That's when Smoker reveals the existence of Seaprism and reveals that the tip of his weapon is made of it.

Since Whitesnake was popular back in the 80's over here in Japan, it would make sense to be used as a code mame of Smoker. We still haven't seen Rainbow and Black Sabbath though

Actually in One piece pirate warriors 4 I remember Smoker having a move called "white snake". You activate it by pressing light melee button once then strong melee button. He creates a snake of smoke with one arm and sins it around traping enemies in it.

Smoker is just such an awesome character. One of my favorite marines for sure. In one piece tcg set two paramount war. Black leader Smoker is pretty good.

Always really liked smoker from the very beginning. Yeah hes not quite up there anymore in terms of strength but thats fine since strength isnt everything. And ive also always really liked tashigi as well so im happy whenever they make an appearance. Hope to see them again soon.

The Smoker vs. Ace fight ending in a draw is another result of Haki not being properly established until around the timeskip. If the ideas for Haki were cemented in stone back then, and Oda knew that he wanted Ace to use it, there's no reason their fight would've gone in any direction other than Ace's victory. However, at the same time, I could easily see the exchange as Ace playing with Smoker, he wasn't going to take him out when he can be used to teach Luffy a valuable lesson about logia's.

I actually wonder if there are other logia fruits like the Smoke Smoke fruit. Like one for fog or steam, (basically cold and hot water vapor), or maybe even air. Ok, the Gas Gas fruit basically covers air as well, but one specifically that turns you into thin invisible air. There are quiet a few elements Oda hasn't tapped into. Probably won't see any of them thought, since we are so close to the end. Except, maybe Monkey D. Dragon, but his powers are more Wind or Storm related, and I think it will be a logia power. So that might actually be a power based around air.

I can imagine Smoker's Awakening being similar to the Fog of London Noble Phantasm of Jack the Ripper from Fate/Apocrypha, which covers the landscape in a paralytic poison cloud that slowly renders you immobile until you're just a sitting duck for Jack's onslaught of attacks (Jack having one of the highest Agility scores of any Servant) making it REAL scary in extended fights.

Should have gone with Pangolins for the animal, given they are both extremely weird, extremely cool, and actually exist. Porygon is a total cop out. Interesting to hear about, but it being a fake animal makes it feel very odd. Otherwise a great video. I've always wondered if Smoker can choose what kind of smoke he is, because that could have a lot of applications based on the types of burnt stuff he could be.

I would love to see an alternate version of One Piece where Luffy steals smokers weapon back then and uses it as a staff like wukong. As like a mobility tool to maneuver with, along with using the seaprism to hit. Imagine him getting a weapon upgrade from ussop that expands like the Kabuto.

Tekking101 my apologies for not subscribing in years. As you said when I was a kid 4kids actually had me thinking smoker was a fog(fog fog) fruit from the extras they had now I think it could awaken a fog (water type) awakening if Logias have awakenings.

This is hinted at by the fact that past versions of these Pokémon existed and they were electric grass type Pokémon with seeds and stuff in them along with some interesting pokedex entries. This would imply that Electrode originally started as some sort of Pokémon plant that began to resemble pokeballs. Which makes a lot of sense in a way when you consider pokeballs are made from Apricorns.
