The UK and Italy will jointly finance a plan to return migrants in Tunisia to their home countries, as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak warned of the threat of migration to “overwhelm” European states.
Mr Sunak used a gathering of Italian conservatives and right-wingers to issue a stark warning of the threat posed by illegal migration, as he suggested that changes to global refugee rules might be needed.
During the day-long trip to Rome, Mr Sunak met Italian prime minster Giorgia Meloni, with whom he has developed a strong partnership.
Reform UK’s deputy leader, Ben Habib, says the Government has the right to protect its channel and stop the boats from entering the UK’s territory.

Foreign nationals afforded citizens rights before they even reach a country of THEIR choice. All of this operates outside democratic accountability.

Ben is correct. The UK is responsible for its own borders. Legal migration also has to be addressed, but for illegal Channel crossings, the boats need to be intercepted and turned around as soon as they enter British Territorial Waters. Once this routinely happens, no-one will be willing to waste their money on failed crossings.

Spot on Funky, these miscreants don’t need to leave France they are safe there. The boats must be turned around, it will give them something to think about. Those already here must be given NOTHING, that way there is no incentive to come here! We owe them nothing, they are after a free ride but not on our watch! In my lifetime I have witnessed our country turn into a third world cesspit, it MUST stop. People who come here do not respect our culture and way of life, and want to enforce their unacceptable beliefs and third world ways on us. England is a small island and we cannot house the whole world even though everyone desires to come here, other countries ARE available! Unfortunately our government, the old trout May being one of many, signed us up to a UN treaties without our consent to take in millions of people we have no need or room for. We have to pay for them with OUR hard earned tax contributions, well they can piss off and earn their own way. We are not here to sponsor them. They need to stop multiplying the world is overwhelmed.

My friend Flew to India a few years ago, with a visa, but because it was the wrong type of visa, they put her on the next plane home. These people have no visa, often no paperwork of any sort and we let them in, give them a nice hotel room and lots of financial help. This is madness. We should take them onboard the boat and take them back to France and put them back in their little boat with instructions not to come back.

I left the U.K. as I am a white U.K. man with mild Aspergers and dyslexia. The help for me to get a job or get the right benefits is just not there. But the immigrant can just get off the boats from France and get free accommodation and benefits. It’s not right I will never move back to the U.K. when the U.K. will not look after the U.K. population.

Unfortunately it seems like extreme measures are the only way to protect our borders and we must take action rather than depend on France and the EU. Ben makes a very good point but will our borders forces or armed forces actually follow instruction and break the law of the sea. Why did the border force with jet ski not turn them back before.

Well said Ben, I totally agree with you. The French have been paid a small fortune to stop the boats leaving their shores. Since they have failed to do this, the British Government must intervene, scoop up the small boats (with a landing craft) and land them safely on the French beaches from whence they came. If the French complain, then at least we will see the true nature of the French and we can stop any payments. Let’s find out, send the marines landing craft to sea.

For those who want open borders, maybe they should pay more taxes for all the hotel bill, the lawyers, the camps, the home office staff, the millions paid to France the hundreds of millions handed to Rwanda, the extra doctors, the extra schools, the extra costs in overseas prisoners we cannot deport and that alone is one billion per year. Our citizens are poorer every year because we are expected to pay for all these migrants who without doubt will get benefits in housing and in work benefits

Coming back from Australia a year ago…my partner and I cannot be together because as an Aus he can’t get a visa…internationally we are being laughed at..I have it on good authority from Australia. They can’t believe we have a government that puts its citizens security last. I am happy to be near my family BUT I cannot believe the change in demographics in just 4 years. Never felt so unwelcome in my country of birth. Being a white woman, biological woman and Christian. Truly infuriated to see them pumping fists as they make the landing on our beaches. Marches against the Jewish communities, who are integrated into the fabric of our society. Hate against the Christians. Police taking the knee for BLM..do they take the other knee for WLM…if there was such a thing…preposterous…rainbow coloured police cars? My god, help! If we have another couple of years of this our country will loose its identity and we will be segregated to a point of no return. As they continue to approve visas for unskilled workers, not training those already here, we will be the ones looking for a place settle as the government push its indigenous peoples off this island, that was defended so bravely by my grandparents generation. Sunak needs to get backbone or place a sign “taxi” on Borderforce and RNLI boats.
