The representation for autism in this show is amazing. I'm really grateful that they hired an autistic actress to play Quinni especially after the chaos and controversy over Sia's movie. A lot of autistic people can end up in relationships where the other person views you like a child they have to look after rather than an equal partner. Or they have like an objectifying fetish for disabled people. I''m glad Quinni has Darren as a friend and that they know how best to comfort her.

Amen. This episode is unfortunately a very good explanation of why friendships, let alone dating, are often so hard for us autistics. People think our needs and boundaries are optional and then end up getting pissed when things blow up- I’d say most of us have experienced emotional abuse at the very least, often other kinds of abuse too. Chloe Hayden (Quinni’s) videos and book explain a lot of this- she’s a well known advocate and speaker as well. And that frog is real, and actually hers in real life 😂

You can say whatever you want about this show but it does have some of the most insane plot twist ever. You would have never expected that ending

the frog is real chloe hayden (quinni's actor) bought a frog while they were filming the show. she said that she missed her animal at home, and then she bought a frog. what a queen!

I really relate to Quinni's love of her favorite author and books, I still feel that way for my favorite band, Hanson (fan since '97)!! It's a whole ritual being a diehard fan, getting there early, sitting outside all day to get front of the line etc. I legit panicked when they got off the bus, like, "Nooooo, you're gonna miss your spot, you can't derail from the plan!!" 😮🎶💘❤️💯🎉

My favourite teacher was a geography teacher in high school. Lots of people liked him, he joked around a lot. Some girls took offense to it, they were in their 2nd or 3rd year I think. (I was in my 5th or 6th) They accused him of bad things. He felt so ashamed he left our school. Only after he had actually left, did the girls admit that they lied. Stuff like this follows a teacher their whole career.

Alex seems like he understands more about Quinni than neurotypicals usually do. It's really nice to see non-autistics pay attention.

I loved the scene with Quinni and her favorite author -- despite Sasha's lack of support. The best thing was the author was played by Natalie Tran -- You Tuber and actor. Her Community Channel skits are on my top list of You Tubers, along with A Story Worth Telling!

Sasha is on the top of my least favorite character of the show list... like Spencer is up there as well but at least we know he is a dick, and he does not try to hide it like Sasha.

yes!! spider is what he is and he's proud of it. at least he owns it. sasha hides behind the guise of being socially conscious and a "good person" when in reality she just sucks and can be really cruel and mean without even self reflecting long enough to know that's how she's being. spider will be a jerk and would be a jerk to quinni because he's a jerk to everyone and it would have probably zero to do with her autism. with sasha she's a jerk and lacks the empathy and compassion to deal with quinni during hard moments and thus it becomes about the autism for her. it's just interesting. i went to school with spiders and with sasha's and would say honestly i'd rather have the spiders than someone who hides their cruelty until it comes out in the most awful ways.

Those charts that quinni has are super common for autistic people to use. I’m autistic and don’t have one but my best friend who is also autistic has one.

We had them all over our house growing up. I used them all the time. I thought it was pretty normal. I knew I had Adhd and was eccentric/distractable. I got diagnosed as an adult as autistic after my son was. We really work the lists and post it notes.

As an autistic person I relate so much to Quinni. I think a big reason why is because the actor that plays her is autistic as well and is big in the autistic community on social media too. I’ve never seen a meltdown so accurately represented on tv while not being infantilizing. I have had meltdowns like that at the same age as that character. I also like how she said that it is her whole life because I don’t think people realize that while we may be a inconvenience to you we have to deal with this stuff in our brain every second of everyday. I’m in college (or university) and I have to have my family come pick me up because I get overwhelmed or have a panic attack. A few weeks ago I had to be picked up because one of the rooms I was having a class in has a really loud buzzing light.

It's so weirdof Sasha. This behaviour. Going to a convention in a costume is the most normal thing for a teenager to do. It was very selfish of Sasha not to support her partner in such a thing, which is really fun if you love the person, even if it's just your friend too. How can you treat someone else's interests so ignorantly.😢

What surprised me is you guys saying condoms aren't free in the UK, here in Brasil you can go to any public health center and get some free, do a lot of people don't take them because they are too shy to do it? yes, but the condoms are there

I would say Darren is being a little bit of a shithead with Cash. Like is fine to be in different places with sex and that being a break point but they are taking it personal like as if Cash not wanting sex is an attack on Darren. Which is shitty. Especially now that they know Cash’s nana has been in the hospital.

After the first episode, I commented about the terrible trope of using Harper as a character who refuses to be open or honest as a driver for plot that doesn't have to happen. Another viewer insisted that her secret was too big to share and that justified her actions. And yet, six episodes in and we see that's her whole thing - secrets and villainy. Nearly every choice is selfish or harmful or both and always excessive and unnecessary except to create more hurt and harm to others.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING IT OUT LOUD. honestly! Look, you can feel empathy for her story. But absolutely none of it was her Amerie's fault nor did she deserve the assault, vitriol, and ostracization harper made her go through. Being a victim doesn't mean you can go around making victims of your own.
