In todays video, I am sharing 10 Phrases to say to your child instead of Stop Crying. These are great for when your child is having a temper tantrum, upset or just having a tough time. Some of these phrases also help teach emotional intelligence as well!

"That must have made you feel this way..." That's a really gentle, loving way to deal with a tantrum.

I love these tips! Mine are still young but I find myself expecting them to conform to my expectations of them in terms of their behavior.. and it can be overwhelming when I don’t get the response I want lol despite how small they are. As they get older, I want to develop better communication skills with them so I can make sure they are understood.

Thanks so much for sharing! We usually affirm by saying we understand they’re upset but it’s not appropriate to pitch a fit and they need to use their words. Reminding them of that usually calms them down and we hug it out and/or talk about it.

Yes I use something similar too. I usually say hand aren't for hitting after acknowledging their feelings

It's okay to feel mad/sad.. I like that. I love how comforting these phrases are. This video couldn't of come sooner. My son is going through a huge tantrum phase and it's so mentally draining. I'm broken 🤣Thankyou soooo much for this! 💜

Temper tantrums are sooooo mentally draining! My sons have been worse than my daughters for some reason. I hope the phrases help!

When my son would have a tough time around this age we had a clip board with options and when he was upset he could pic one of the pic to point to options included 1.i need a squeeze (big hug) 2. I need a break 3. I need help with the task etc love your ideas
