You, Temujin, must visit each of the outlying tribes. You must convince as many as you can to join our glorious army!
In this scenario, Temujin (aka a young Genghis Khan) seeks to gain power across the harsh steppes of Mongolia. You have to raid other tribes for what few resources you can muster, and either ultimately defeat all of them, or else raid the outposts of the neighboring Chinese kingdoms.

This scenario has a problem that many of the others of the dlc have too: the early game is not fun because you have too few units and can’t do anything to train new ones faster. the end game isn’t fun because you *too many* units and can just attack move 100 mangudai into castle fortifications. That leaves very little overall time where i actually enjoy playing the scenario.

they could at least give the allied monk who heals you the saracen (?) tech that heals in an area. like this it's such a slog

As with some other scenarios, I love the nomad/raiding mechanics, but I wish the other players weren't so static. Getting different bonus by choosing your first allies, having a bit more action would have been nice.

Having the AI actually do things would more than likely just have them hunt down and overrun you making the scenario almost impossible. You don't really have any other options in RPG scenarios other than making the attacks they send be scripted and telegraphed.

Borte gave birth to Temujin‘s first son Jorchi after she was rescued. But the timing had made the bloodline of Jorchi a discussion topic for centuries to come. True or not, he did not inherit the empire as the great khan but was given the territory to the north and Jorchi‘s son Batu in turn established the Golden Horde and brought destruction to eastern Europe during the infamous Mongol Invasion. Just think all these began with the kidnapping of the wife of a tribal chief in Mongolia.

Wasn't Jochi not given the empire because Genghis choose Ogedai? I believe Ogedai was the third son, and surpassed both Jochi and Chagatai? So the question whether Jochi was the son of Genghis or not was simply irrelevant in regards to the ascension of the new Khan?

@@johnxina5126 Chagatai asked Genghis Khan to name Ogodai as the heir because Chagatai didn't want Jochi to be the next Khan. He certainly got suspicious of Jochi‘s bloodline

@@songyani3992 oh so it did actually matter, I was always under the impression Genghis wanted Ogedai to be Khan from the start, surpassing his older brothers. Thank you for replying

Temujin doesn't start under your control in this scenario, so it makes sense that he gets no upgrades until he dies at least once. All the subsequent Temujins spawn as orange.

Another scenario where you are advised to perform hit and run attacks. This time it's discount Seljuk. Not sure how I feel about this.

Temujin likely doesn't get upgrades initially because he is converted to your player at the beginning of the scenario, whereas after he dies he is immediately trained under your control. Other new heroes are also trained under your control, and as such benefit from upgrades. At least thats my guess.

the kind of thing that really should have been realized during play testing. But it doesn't cause a crash, and doesn't interfer with the players paying for it so fuck it, how needs quality

After clearing all of the new scenarios, i only found myself enjoying Constantine XI, all others were just not fun l (regardless of the difficulty they were either boring slow grinding mess or timer based not giving options rly how to approach them)
