Chinese? More like not-at-ease!
In this scenario, Temujin (aka a young Genghis Khan) seeks to gain power across the harsh steppes of Mongolia. You have to raid other tribes for what few resources you can muster, and either ultimately defeat all of them, or else raid the outposts of the neighboring Chinese kingdoms.

'Where are they attacking us from?!'. At that point, 1/3 of the map remained unexplored. I submit: they're attacking from somewhere in that unexplored 1/3 of the map.

Looks like AI was bugged and blue wasn't attacking given how many units they had sitting in their base at the end.

Naiman were updated to green in DE iirc Genghis Khan 1, to match Kushluck's colors in Genghis Khan 2 and Taichyids were updated to purple.

6:20 If you've meant out of Genghis' sons you are right. Jochi's Golden Horde lasted until 1502, when the Crimean Khanate subjugated what remained of it. Ögedei,'s Mongol Empire collapsed in the late 1300s. Tolui died in the wars against the Jin. The Chagatai khanate and it's remnants lasted into the early 1700s. But otherwise the Kazakh Khanate lasted well into the 1800s until the Russian conquest.

Technically speaking the Crimean Khanate was itself an offshoot of the Golden Horde. The Giray dynasty that founded the Crimean Khanate was a descendant of Jochi, specifically from Togay Temur, Jochi's youngest son. One of Togay's sons receives Crimea as his domain from Mengu Timur.

@@Kalimdor199Menegroth That's a really good point. I just didn't count it as a continuation of the Golden Horde. but technically the Girays are a descendant of Temüjin so yes it could be argued that Jochi's Khanate lived on in Crimea.

I'm no expert in this part of the world, but from what I've seen from my studies and what professors have told me, it's really tough and probably pointless to try and figure out where being "Mongol" ends and being "Turkic" begins (or any other group of Central Asian people) all the way up until the 19th century. You could make the argument in a lot of different ways.

@@OrnLu_AoE It would be safe to say that at least the first few generations of rulers were indeed of Mongol stock. But through marriages and mixing, they gradually became Turkified, especially in Central Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Jagatai's Chaghatai Khanate eventually became the Mughal Empire that lasted into the 1700s and ended in 1857. The first Mughal Emperor was Babur.

I coincidentally played this in the mods right before they released the DLC, and I had a weird glitch where I could select and control and move certain sheep but not task villagers to slaughter them. It was only a few select sheep that had this happen. Most of the sheep in the level didn't have this glitch and behaved normally, but it slowed down my food income and made the mission take longer for me. Has anyone had this happen?
