1) Martial wasn't put out on loan last season, he was loaned out at the second half of the 21/22 season 2) In modern football, top managers at top clubs don't sign the players. They tell the scouting team the type of players they want to fit their style of play. The scouts find them and the sporting director signs them off. I'm sure there is the odd player here and there a manager asks for. But at United ETH has pretty much been signing all the players, due to Uniteds incompetency. 3) ETH definitely needs to be held accountable for there not being any style of play or substance. But even if he did manage that, he would have hit a ceiling with this club. As the board stop spending money once UCL qualification is assured. 4) following on from spending, United have been spending badly for over a decade now. With reactionary signings, signing players too late in the window, signing young players not suited to a manager etc. 5) we can get rid of ETH but like KG said in 18 months we will have the same problem. A full sale was needed, but now we can only hope Sir Jim Radcliffe puts football people in place up at the boardroom level, and start implementing modern football club management. EG having a competent sporting director, scouts and improving football facilities.
