The 'Paul is Dead' myth is wrong... BOTH Paul and his long lost Brother Faul died in the car. Paul was replaced by Shirley a coat attendant from Swansey. All true. It's revealed if you don't listen to the albums at all.

Let's imagine for a second Paul actually did die. A secret like that would not be able to be kept by that many people for this long. I especially think when John and Paul were arguing back and forth in the early 70s he would of said something because if anyone was gonna reveal a secret like that it would of been John. Even during the early 70s when they were arguing and dissing each other the most he was asked about it in an interview and said that it was ridicoulous and wasn't true

I've always hated when someone refers to them as a "Boy Band". They were a rock group, a pop group, however you prefer to think of them, but they weren't a boy band. Oh, they were a band, alright, because a band denotes the playing of instruments, which they certainly did, unlike boy bands which are dancing/singing acts.

... while in the background, Yoko can be heard talking on the phone to her family in Japan - including wealthy, well-connected businessmen, politicians, and high-ranking police/customs officials - informing them that on Paul's imminent Japanese Tour, he would attempt to conceal nearly three-quarters of a pound of marijuana in his guitar cases... guaranteeing Paul's arrest for international drug smuggling. After hanging up the phone, Yoko contentedly curls up next to John, who is toking on a joint he rolled from some of the marijuana that Paul had only the day before shared with the Lennon's... a sample of the same stuff Paul told them he was taking with him to Japan. Paul was quite chuffed with the quality of the smoke he'd procured, and eagerly seeking John's approval, Paul said, "You gotta try this stuff! It's really some dynamite weed, man!" After Yoko's dooming phone call, and once she'd returned to her place beside John, she purred contentedly, "All taken care of!" John nods in acknowledgement, and mumbles, "Okay. Cool." Exhaling after another toke on the joint, John said, "Paul was right, you know. This really *is* some dynamite weed!" Sooooo... how likely is it that John would throw one of his closest friends and collaborators under the bus like that? Well, *I'd* say it was *very* freakin' likely, mate!

Just watched the movie ‘Eight Days a Week’ (again) and what I never really appreciated before was the massive musical jump from ‘Help’ to ‘Rubber Soul’ in just a few months. It’s staggering to think that a band at the top of their game would totally change everything musically that the fans loved them for to something completely different and make it such a ground breaking success, and that was just the start. No other ‘Boy’ band could have done that?

Just discovered your channel and in a word WOW! Having been born in 1959, I'm immersed in the music of the 60's.....BEST MUSIC EVER....nothing can compete with that era...Motown, folk, protest songs and of course, the British Invasion, The Beatles topping the list and The Moody Blues also having a special place. As far as the boy band thing goes, I'd classify The Monkees as the first. Not sure if it was Don Kirschner or Dick Clark, but the story goes..."find 4 guys, teach them a few chords and make them a success" On a personal note, you're more than a mere fan, you have great admiration and respect.

Listening to the fact about George at the end was worth every minute of the rest (which I mostly knew). Thanks for that, man, I love knowing that George was out there holding ground.

@@darthjesus420 Where is the footage then? I've always heard that story, but I've never managed to find it. And yet John kept on asking Ringo to drum on some of his songs after the break up, so there must be something he liked about his drumming.

@@thatmarchingarrow everyone loves ringo, and contributed very creatively with his drumming. I think most people could agree on that. But technically he’s a sloppy drummer, his execution is unpracticed, but what is in his head is intelligent and usually fairly interesting. Hence why they loved his drumming. Plus he could really go to town on some 1-4-5 Rock n roll. John said that about ringo as a obvious joke, ringo was right next to him. I believe it was around 66 when he said that if I’m recalling correctly. And to answer your question, I don’t have a clue where to find the footage , I remember finding it 2 or 3 years ago. I’m sure it’s been scrubbed from the internet by now if no one can find it anymore. Otherwise I don’t know where a myth like that emerges. There’s clearly truth behind it.

@@darthjesus420 As far as I'm aware, it wasn't a Lennon quote at all, but a bit by a comedian in the early 80s (after John's death). I'd have to look into it to give you more details. I know he isn't that great from a technical point of view, he's definitely not Neil Peart or Buddy Rich, but great chops aren't what makes a legendary drummer. Ringo didn't need that because he had the feel, the ideas and the connection with the music to play exactly the right parts. Also, to my ears, his playing isn't sloppy at all, it's just not flashy. All that isn't to discredit people like Buddy Rich or Neil Peart. They are also legendary. But they're legendary not just because they can play fast and complicated stuff. There are quite a few drummers who can do that. What makes them great is something else. Edit: Ok, here's what Mark Lewisohn has to say about it. twitter.com/marklewisohn/status/1039429309797158912?s=20

Great video as usual. One point though; John did tell the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds story as you stated saying it was just a coincidence but i read an article a few years back where he said it was about LSD. If you do a search you should be able to find it. I can't remember why he didn't want people to know at the time. He also confirmed that Julian did do a picture for him but that wasn't what the song was about. In any case check it out. I have a feeling it was an excerpt from a Playboy article with John but don't quote me on that. It was a long time ago.... Cheers.

"I can't remember why he didn't want people to know at the time." *Dude! Seriously?* Maybe it had something to do with the fact that possession and/or use of LSD carried with it a long prison sentence, and that would *really* look bad on John's application for a Green Card??? 🤔 Just a wild guess!
