I just spent 5 days hunting public land in WI. Virtually no gobbling. A couple of gobbles off the roost then maybe one gobble later in the morning.Birds in lock down phase, surrounded by hens. SUPER FRUSTRATING! Very hard to kill them when they don’t gobble. I really felt like giving up. Maybe go fishing instead. Gotta keep grinding! When I got home I bought a tag for the final period.

Been like that the last week for me here in Mississippi. Actually called one in my lap & wasnt able to pull the trigger , so yeah nothing went right trying to get my 3rd bird. But I had a great year, killed 2 public birds here in Mississippi. was on birds most of the year, heard a lot of gobbling. It was a grind. Today was the last day & I hunted before work, heard 2 birds, both gobbled one time each & went silent, but my tracker said 6.2 miles when I got back to truck I was trying to strike from every angle. Had a great year, I’d love to go to some other states , but it’s time to work & make $$$ for upcoming deer season. Had a great year! Now I’ll keep watching yall!!!

I won’t give away your location but I will say, you’re very lucky to have even heard a bird there. They are almost nonexistent there anymore and no one is sure why.

Yessir it’s the hardest one’s that you remember most!! Indiana came in last Wednesday I have heard zero gobbles in the 3 days I have been able to get out.. very frustrating and disappointing, with that being said I will grind all the way until the last day if need be.. and if I don’t tag out then that will only make me more persistent for the fall season

We hit 3 states this year and did well in all of them. The first day was a grind in all of them, but we got our feet under us and got it done.

You are a great example of why god put turkeys out there for us to enjoy the outdoors! A lot of hunters have become so jealous of other hunters! I’ve tagged out in ky and would like to hunt somewhere else however good luck finding other hunters in different states to assist! Keep the video s coming!

This year it took me 29 days and 5 different tracts both public and private to get my first one of the season but I finally connected. Just haven’t been hearing them. Hardest hunting I’ve done in my 24 yrs of chasing them.

I'm from WV and decided to hunt OK this and I couldn't get a turkey tag on the 5 day license and had to spend the money for the annual license but I got my first Rio !!!

if you take a gobbler in an area can you go back to same spot and get another in same place same year? I got one opening day but they seem to have left that area altogether.

I keep on grinding, cause you never know what is right around the corner, and if you leave it all that effort you put in , could benefit someone just stepping in, which is ok as well, but if you hang with it chances are rewarding in most cases

i’ve called in one here in tennessee since season opened. he came in and circled just out of shotgun range. i’ve walked miles since on several different days and haven’t got on another one. i’ll be back at it this weekend.
