Tennessee Waltz is an oldie and its melody is long lasting. For those who do Waltz dancing, this song has the basic rhythm that we need.
The song is produced based on a mix of the styles from Patti Page and Anne Murray, with Patti Page's lyrics and powerful lower key from Murray.
The song described a friend stole the singer's sweetheart, and we think more importantly is the statement that follows : "Now I Know Just How Much I Have Lost", meaning that the singer did not expect the serious consequences. Yvonne tried using Legato techniques to highlight the feeling in that particular lyrics, and hopefully it has produced the intended results. [Legato is a musical performance technique that produces fluid, continuous motion between notes. Each individual note is played to its maximum duration and then blends directly into whatever note follows]
Anyway, it was so unfortunate that the sweetheart has gone. A good intension of introducing the sweetheart to a friend did not yield a favorable result in that case.
What a lesson learned! However, the sadness turned into a powerful and long last feeling within the song.
