In Venice, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, Los Angeles Police Officers, with Tasers in hand, escorted a non-compliant individual from his encampment on Brooks Avenue. The man, experiencing homelessness, had been given a 15-minute warning to pack up his belongings but did not adhere to the notice, prompting the need for police to step in and assist in the relocation.
The incident occurred during a coordinated operation to address homeless encampments on Brooks Avenue. The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works teamed up with Clean Harbors Environmental Inc. to conduct an extensive cleaning effort, leading to the temporary closure of the street.
Los Angeles Sanitation officials had given the man, along with others in the encampment, a short window to move their possessions. When he did not adhere to the request, sanitation workers, with the aid of police officers, proceeded to clear the area of any remaining items.
Equipped with proper safety attire, including white suits for handling hazardous materials, the cleanup teams diligently followed safety measures. The Department of Public Works and Clean Harbors Environmental personnel collaborated closely, sorting through the debris to ensure hazardous items were safely removed.
The police presence was crucial in maintaining order during the cleanup, with officers enforcing the operation without resorting to citations, despite the implications of Ordinance 41.18 which restricts the use of public spaces by homeless individuals.
This cleanup initiative is part of the City of Los Angeles' broader strategy to address homelessness. The city continues to assert its commitment to creating sustainable, long-term solutions to the root causes of homelessness and connecting those in need with essential resources. The recent operations in Venice are a testament to the city’s dedication to a comprehensive and empathetic response to this social challenge.

And wouldn't the bike of course be stolen? Some little kids e-bike. All thrashed now. No doubt they reported it to the police department with the serial number. They don't even touch it. Isn't that ridiculous they don't even seem to comprehend that of course that bike would be stolen 100%? That's what happens when your bike gets stolen, and that's of course who would be stealing it... and the police are standing right there with the bike and the criminal that stole it. They do nothing. They don't even check the serial number. They just let the insane psycho theif crackhead yell and curse at them and then walk off with your obviously stolen merchandise.

For him to commit a real crime. The DA won't charge the homeless with anything unless it's major like murder or r*pe. The cops know it and just avoid arresting street people. To the cops it's just a waste of time because they know nothing will happen with the charges. They cuff them, transport them to jail (which is on the other side of downtown ) only to have them cut loose right after they get booked. Do you think a homeless guy with nothing to loose cares about going to jail? It isn't like he going to loose his job or get kicked out of his place for missing work and not paying rent.

They're doing the same thing with immigrants, pretending to solve the problem by simply letting them into Texas and the surrounding other red states. No actual plan beyond that, just more blue votes if they can get more of them in and anchored with a few dozen future Democrat voters each. After all Texas won't turn purple on its own! Don't believe me? Why is it that they are so upset about said migrants being bussed out of the red border states into already firmly blue states? Even though said blue cities and states constantly bleat about how they are sanctuary cities and will take them, why is Biden and co. out constantly lambasting Texas for doing this? Oh right, because those people settling down in a blue city in a blue state doesn't help them at all, which makes the entire effort pointless. They don't care about the migrants, they don't care about the homeless, destitute, addicted, broken, mentally ill American people, and they DEFINITELY don't care about the useful idiots that keep electing them... they just care about maintaining their own power.

I don't know why homeless has exploded over the last few years. I'm not an economist but i imagine things got too expensive for most people.
