Thanks everyone - I try to make my turorials jam packed with thoughts and ideas that really make my audience understand it intuitively - Because of this, it is hard to come up with enough solid material to make a video! I'm glad to be back and I'll have some very thoughtful new approaches coming out soon. As long as my new GF doesn't keep me too worn out :)

7th chords or 7th intervals cause tension and minor notes added to a major key work well. Tension adds a lot of flavor and emotion to your music. As music theory minor, Ace knows his stuff.

Not sure if this will help or not since your post was over 2 months ago lilscrapbook82, but if you go to piano roll options, helpers, and check detect scale, then after you play or paint a few notes it will show you the scale you are working with indicated by the light gray in the grid. The darker areas are not in the scale you are using.

Hi Ace, big fan of the videos. One question, at 6:36 you reference that the 'FL Helper' says that the F was not in the song's chord. What is this exactly- is there a tool that tells you if a not is in/out of the song's key? Thanks

so informative and true. but i wanted to ask: where did you get this informations? i mean it's something that you study in music theory or it's something that you came up with?

Awesome and informative video as yours always are. It's a little hard to hear your voice over the sound produced by FL though. I find myself reaching for the volume control a little too often.

Hey Ace, is it bad if you dont really know the notes, like how they sound like and how to use them. It does have alot of negative sides like when you know what sound you want in you head, but just cant find the right note on the piano roll. Is there an easy way to learn the notes?
