Watch Legacy Effects create a classic character three different ways
Terminator Genisys required a variety of practical effects, from make-up to the T-800 endoskeleton to what production called the "'84 Arnold," a full-size replica of Arnold Schwarzenegger. Go behind the scenes and see how Legacy Effects brought Terminator Genisys' ideas into the real world.

It's a shame most of these great practical models were replaced with mediocre CGI. I want more of this. It looks real.

Hello to you who are reading, how are you? I want to tell you: THERE IS A GOD WHO LOVES YOU, AND HE WANTS TO SAVE YOU. The greatest proof of His love for you was on the cross. There is only one GOD, only one GOD, there are no others, and GOD is Love, he is merciful, but he is also a GOD of judgment and justice. This GOD has Laws, and we cannot keep them properly, we fail, we sin when we disobey His Laws. Think with me, when someone commits a crime, he breaks a certain Law, is he innocent or guilty? We understand that if he has committed a crime, broken or disobeyed a law, he is not innocent, but guilty. Does a guilty deserve to be convicted or acquitted? We understand that if he committed a crime he deserves to be convicted. Such is the state of the human being before God. guilty. The Bible says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom 3:23). We have sinned against GOD, we are not innocent but guilty, and our sins condemn us and condemn us to hell. But I want to tell you that there is hope for us, there is forgiveness for our sins, because, even though we are flawed and sinners, God loved us so much that in the fullness of time he sent his SON, JESUS CHRIST to this earth. JESUS is the one who was born under the law of GOD. JESUS fulfilled all the law of God, being thus perfect, in Jesus there was no sin nor deceit in his mouth. For when the LORD JESUS was here, HE did good to all, and healed all who were oppressed by the devil, JESUS was not a person who trampled on those who were fallen, on the contrary, HE stretched out His hands to the fallen, JESUS came to to save sinners, to seek and to save that which was lost, he performed miracles, signs and wonders among the people, the blind saw, the deaf heard, the dumb spoke, the lame walked and the dead were raised, for God was with HE. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. And then according to God's plan, Jesus being innocent, was rejected, was wronged and was condemned to death, and death on a cross. In this fact, GOD proves his love for us, in that CHRIST died nailed to a cross on our behalf, HE died for our sins, HE was our substitute suffering the condemnation that we deserve. Then HE was buried and after three days, GOD raised Jesus from the dead, breaking the shackles of death, because it was impossible for death to stop him. After Jesus was resurrected, He gave commandments to His disciples, and the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God. JESUS CHRIST is the Judge who will judge the living and the dead, what GOD is announcing to all people is repentance. Repent of your sins, forsake your sins, and turn to GOD, believe in his SON JESUS CHRIST, so that your sins may be forgiven, only JESUS can save the souls of men, JESUS CHRIST is the only way, Put all your faith, your trust and your hope in Jesus and begin to obey him.

The funny thing is even the cg stuff in this can be practical. Dawn of the dead remake managed to do prosthetics that make a person look torn apart rather than use cgi.
@jamesbarbour8400
@jamesbarbour8400 9 ай бұрын
Where the 'damage' to Arnies' face is concerned, I think the use of CGI was justified from the point of view that it actually made the chrome skull parts that were visible, look like they actually were below his suedo human face, whereas with the prosthetics approach, as good as they are, they'll always project out from the normal line of profile of Arnies' face, and can only be shot from certain camera angles to try to nullify that effect. Hope that makes sense.

The work that goes into this is incredible! So many people miss the days of practical effects. Today's age is soo reliant on CGI, with little or no animatronics or puppetry. Actually still making moulds of things, putting the work in, the punching hairs into a model, realism I think we all miss. So when the blu-ray of Genysis comes out, it'll be a joy watching the movie and all the special features. Fantastic work guys, alot of influence from the late Stan Winston.

Fantastic work indeed. This kinda work is why I moved to London and now work in the media as a Director! My only issue was the decision to 'accent' upgrades. The stuff that goes into building all these is truly amazing. I enjoyed most of "Genisys", but its truly sad that a sequel was abandoned. All three attempts after "T2" wound up that way, and all of them failed to renew the franchise over the long term. "T3" is easily the worst of the bunch, but "Salvation" was a brave departure from the narrative.

Why did they cut the nose off? That actually created a continuity error since he didn't lose his nose in the fight and when the terminator was bought back to life he had it then! So now this extremely lifelike model of Arnold was essentially ruined for no reason. You can barely tell it's Arnold without the nose.

albert fish Really? Wow? Please tell me in what way? All you saw was reshoots of the first 2 films And a futher decline in Arnolds acting capabilities Look at all 3 films he's done with James Cameron, his acting is way better, it truly show's how important Cameron has been in the establishment of his acting career and it's because Cameron is not afraid to direct Arnold unlike other filmmakers who are just fanboys.
