Some backstory on Sewer Cat and his name: about two years ago a litter of kittens was born in my neighborhood to an unknown cat. Two survived to adulthood, of which we deemed Black Kitty and Grey Kitty. (IDK if they were male or female, but we just deemed them male in our imaginations) The two of them lived in the sewer drain near my house and would often be seen playing with one another in people's yards. Grey Kitty was very friendly and loved to have his belly rubbed. He would sometimes just come hang out with us on the porch. He wouldn't accept any food we gave him, oddly. Black Kitty was very skittish but would eat wet cat food so long as we left him alone. I never was able to pet him. Apparently some folks on the other street started regularly feeding the two on their porch and Black Kitty was ultimately adopted as an outdoor cat to this family and he goes in and out of the house a lot. Grey Kitty disappeared about a year ago... I don't know what happened to him. I hope he too found a home and is living a cushy indoor life somewhere. I'm sure his brother misses him a lot. Black Kitty still sometimes hangs out in the sewers when he's not patrolling the skreets, and since there was no longer a need to differentiate Black Kitty and Grey Kitty, and they were all grown up now, he was reborn as Sewer Cat.

The whole "Zealandia" discussion is besides the point. The continent missing from that map is Antarctica. You had *just* commented on someone remembering Greece and then you forgot it when you drew the world from memory. Also, regarding imperial vs. metric, in the US, we actually do use a little bit of metric. Our soda comes in 2L bottles, medications are in grams, and nutritional amounts (eg. carbs) are in grams.

In all the ways that matter, we are a metric country. After the mars climate orbiter crashed because of a math mistake relating to metric vs imperial, the scientific community has used metric. The military commonly uses metric, as well, for interoperability with allied forces. It’s just the citizens who don’t use metric commonly, and I would say that this isn’t even universal. Many citizens here do know metric, even if we don’t use it regularly.

The idea of the super-wide timezones would *never* work out well (similarly with just universally using UTC globally). There are two possibilities: One is that it's decided to have schedules across the expanded time zone be synchronized for commercial interests, with a disregard for the effect this would actually have on people, as the time zone gives them justification to do so. The other is that you rob the times of their actual meaning, where "I have to wake up at 9 AM" is perfectly reasonable to one person, and ungodly early to another, and that difference is going to be HARDER to remember than the simple numerical conversion factor of a time zone difference. It will also be even more disorienting to anyone who travels, as rather than simply having to adjust your body and set your clocks to the new time zone (a process that usually takes a day or two at most), you now have to completely remap the entirety of time within your head (which would probably take you longer than most trips to do completely). The trouble you are trying to avoid is one that is trivialized by computers, and yet you would prefer to strip time of much of its meaning, antiquate phrases, make a mess of existing literature, just so you can say a single number (as opposed to a number and 3 letters/3 letters and a number) and have it refer to the same time for everyone. The entire basis of time is upon the sun, and it should not be so flagrantly distanced from it. If you're so desperate to do so then I will give you a truest example of that here, this comment has been posted at slightly past 1639744527.

In Canada, marijuana is inconsistently enforced because of the differring age limits depending on what province you live in. In the provinces where the minimum age for alcohol is 19, marijuana possession is also 19. The same rule applies to the provinces where the minimum drinking age is 18. Except (obviously) for Quebec, where they love to make everything needlessly complicated (and French). The minimum drinking age in Quebec is still 18, however you need to be 21 in order to be able to have marijuana (because logic?)

In summer in Australia, we have five time zones, not counting the little islands or the crazy town in eastern Western Australia (Eucla) which is 45 minutes ahead of Perth.

@@BrambleSarah Although Eucla is in Western Australia, there are 13 degrees of longitude difference between Perth and Eucla. So, if it shared the same time zone as Perth, it would be like Los Angeles and Boulder being in the same time zone.

At 4:36 i also saw that the capital of Spain is Lisbon and the Capital of Portugal is Madrid, it's supposed to be vice versa. Good job on absolutely triggering everyone who has seen a normal world map, person who made this thing.

7:46 i was surprised an american actually knew that the country of georgia existed even though (s)he got it wrong on the map. But then when i saw that they mentioned other us states like texas or atlanta i realised s(he) wasnt reffering to the country georgia but the us state.
