I had once a Nat 20 for my first attack roll with my Dragonborn Blood Hunter, except I was the last one acting on the round. While the others get in fight with a few pirates, I ran through (one of them gave me a nasty stab at that time), and go for their spellcaster in the back. With the double damage from my greatsword, it was literally cut in half.

I remember in a Wildmont campaign, we encountered some wolves on the road at night. The rest of the party was ready to fight, my Oath of the Ancients Paladin though, he calmly got out of the cart, grabbed some meat they had and gave it to the wolves. Turns out they were just hungry so they went away with my guy calmly getting back into the cart. Maxilous truly is one of my most chill characters ever.

@@douglaspope-gz1eq One thing I didn't mention. He's also the guardian and father figure to a young Tiefling Sorceress who's parents were murdered 2 years prior, he was the family Guardian who was told to take their little girl and run. They were both in the game at the same time, with Celina (the Tiefling) providing the more wholesome adorableness, with Maxilous being the more introspective and protective guardian. His high charisma stat was reflected in his attempting to solve conflicts peacefully, not just because it fit his oath, but because he was setting an example for Celina on what a Man should act like. All of this despite the fact he's a Warforged, he's only angered if someone threatens or harms Celina with insults to himself being brushed off as hot air. When it comes time to fight though, there's little doubt he was once a great warrior, literally carrying the party through several encounters and putting the majority of enemies in the ground when they refused to back off.

@@Jaeger_Bishop yep that sounds like Iroh to me. did Iroh directly influence your character design? If so I might play an Oath of ancients paladin but replace the warforge part with Dragonborn

@@douglaspope-gz1eq No. Iroh wasn't my inspiration, in truth he was a bit of a self-insert. What I believe the ideal man and warrior should be. The Warforged part was just because I like them and it fit with one being a Guardian of a minor noble family.

It's funny how all the characters are so sweet and then Cadril is a little cold, it's nice bit of balance. I think my favorite dynamic is Cadril and Serryn. The very sweet and optimistic Sea Elf is a nice mix with the Cold but Cool Tiefling, and I do hope their relationship develops a bit further as the game goes on.

Cadril missing and just saying "F*K!" before being brutally crushed between the jaws of a dire wolf after perfect rolls from everyone else was shocking and tense. Also, props to Jed, the wolfslayer! He really was the MVP of the episode. Of course, Xhuri being unbearably cute as always. Love that kobold. 😊

I really appreciate the attention to detail. The visual novel format allows you to make subtle changes that an actual visual novel doesn't normally do, like facial expressions, or Cadril being coated in blood, making this wholly unique. I also loved the animated token fight. Well done!

And after going on a road trip, can confirm if you tick those big guys off they are just as brutal as shown here if you upset them. Their gore absolutely will mess up anything or anyone in their way

Oh, i know this pain, cadril.... leveling up with nothing you seem to do for it. We play 3.5 and are currently lvl 15. Our enemy was a lich. I shure did manage to kill him two times, but in the last encounter after we found his vessel where he did go all out he just cursed we with pain. The entire fight i was just rolling on the ground screaming in terror, unable to do anything...... but i rolled 8HP from an D8 hit dice. Why? "Because i suffered so much that i can endure more pain!"

Beau and Xhuri are MVP. Beau attacked three wolves in a single fight (2 assists, 1 kill). Xhuri did the most damage against the dire wolf. Props to Amalthea who saved Cadril with cure wounds.

I loved this episode. I was confused by the logo because of assumed it meant "task completed" as it appeared after the fight with the checkmark on it. Apart from that, it is all so good. All the little animations, the game goes at a nice pace. I really enjoy how this goes at the moment.

Seeing how Jed's player considers a wink to be bardic inspiration kind of gave me ideas for a bard that can't play music for shit but just motivates through words. Also, poor Cadrill hasn't done a very good job of protecting Xhuri. I'd ask for my gold coin back if I were her.

This is quite good! The scene changes are smooth, the combat is engaging, the different styles interspersed add a whole other layer of charm, and the music supplements it well! Favorite part would have to be the gang drinking their tea. Such a wildly different vibe compared to them fighting to stay alive (and Cadril failing to do so). Expectations met and exceeded. Greatly looking forward to more!

Follow up comment. I just wanted to praise the chemistry of this group. All of the players and the Dungeon Master mesh so well with each other. You can sense the joy of this group. Everyone is having so much fun. Each person is doing so well immersing themselves into their characters. I love the uniqueness of each player and their perspective character. Each player and character is so endearing. The story is so engrossing. Also want to applaud all the different styles of artworks presented in this session. I feels like I am watching an art gallery exhibition with all the different styles of artworks being featured this episode. Spectacular work. Again marvelous episode. Thank you so much for giving us this animated campaign. Very excited for the next episode. Look forward to the next episode.
