You really need to look at the era he was playing in with those defenses. A lot of what was considered “football plays” or “great defense” back then would be considered penalties with fines and suspensions in today’s game. He also didn’t have an offensive coordinator in a box telling him what plays to run, he was calling them as he saw the defense line up.

That final TD pass in Super Bowl X to Lynn Swann is arguably the best pass ever thrown in NFL history. Ironically that was his final pass that game because he was knocked out. Notice also how Swann caught those passes without gloves or stickum and unlike Dez Bryant, Lynn Swann caught it and it didn't need review. Happy birthday to the legendary Terry Bradshaw, part of the 2 member 4 and 0 club along with a quarterback who was a Bradshaw admirer, Joe Montana.

"Bradshaw is overrated because his numbers are bad." His numbers look "bad" because of his first 5 seasons, where he was still learning the pro game and how to deal with a coach that didn't like him. Bradshaw's prime was 1975-1982, where he threw 162 TDs to 129 INTs for a 78.8 passer rating. For reference, John Elway began his career after Bradshaw's last year as a starter and has a 79.9 passer rating. Think about that for a moment.

I saw that Swann "immaculate Catch"...and at the time, and the following few weeks it was talked about everywhere...but looking back at it,it was a good catch with good concentration, but by no means was it a great or phanominal catch by any means.on a scale of 1-10,with 10 being best, I'd give it a 5 or 6...I mean you see much harder & better catches on basically any given Sunday nowadays... it's something how certain things get over credited depending on the Era or time period that were in.i guess for that point & time,(1970's)the Swann catch was a big thing...also the Dwight Clarke 49ers catch, same thing...if you look at Clark's feet when catching the ball,he didn't jump that high at all,it appeared that way because of the camera angle,it was shot upwards from ground level....it's like most things.its all about being in the rite place, the rite time,& the rite Era!
