Frankly Jazz was a half-hour television program produced in Los Angeles in the early 1960s. Each program featured one or
more prominent West Coast Jazz performer of the day. Frankly Jazz was
hosted by Frank Evans, a leading jazz disk jockey of the day. Terry Morel sings 'What is there to say' on this episode.

Just look at and listen to Evans' reaction at the end of her performance...he was hypnotized by her singing, and the cue disturbed him from his daze. Her treatment is marvelous...having only heard Johnny Hartman's flawless rendition of this song, I never imagined a woman singing it, but Morel handles it masterfully.

Miss Morel did an EP on Prestige as well as 3 TV appearances on Bobby Troup's Stars of Jazz in L.A. in the 50's. She did a novelty piece with Jack Sheldon in the 70's called School House Rock which you can't even discern she was a part of. Her contribution is buried in the production. She wasn't properly recorded on the Bethlehem LP.The EP is a better illustration of her true potentual. The 6 sides she did on Stars of Jazz and this piece are by far best work. She was vastly underrated.

I agree with Exquisitesounds, the Bethlehem album is very low-budget sounding and appears to be nothing more than a tape of a set she did in a club some place. But she was a wonderful singer/stylist. I only have two Stars of Jazz songs by her, on an old '70's Calliope LP called Sessions Live, including "Day In Day Out" and a ballad. Where can the other 4 Stars of jazz sides be gotten?

The mysterious Eddie Styles recently uploaded her EP: kzfaq.info/sun/PLrXSWFwzSmZv0UPX2kcokpz_jk99ILayk Didn't know she made a studio record, too. Always enjoyed her live LP - I mean, come on, she's being backed up by Ralph Sharon and Herbie Mann.
