The Clayton Supercharger is a huge game changer for people going between CO-TX. Thanks to the Ranch Market for supporting it, too bad they weren't open when you passed through. Now we just need one through Monument Valley linking CO to the Grand Canyon. Been watching your Goodyear videos so far, cool setup they have there.

As someone who lives in the Amarillo Area, it was really cool to see the local Supercharger, especially since there are only a couple dozen Tesla owners in the area. It is in a really good location, except sadly the movie theater behind it closed down permanently last year, but still there are a ton of good restaurants around it, glad you guys stopped by!

have you ever thought about cleaning the windshield?

I'm considering a Model 3 Long Range Edition next year. Holding on for the new battery type, tax credit law to hopefully pass and for inventory to readily available. It's nice to see that in the performance version and SR+, which are their two lowest range versions, you can do abroad trip going well over 500 miles and not worry about Range anxiety. Another thing making these trips doable in an EV is the cars ability to route you to a charger without running out of charge as well as being able to use auto pilot and lane keep assist to avoid swerving and fatigue.

Kyle, love your videos, but you need to do something about the B-roll footage. Typically, you're driving through one of the most beautiful states and all I see is the bugs graveyard on your windshield. Maybe you can securely mount a go pro outside the car? That, along with a gimbal and a mic wind muff on your phone will really improve the production value of this amazing content

Many of the TX roads are “chip sealed”. Basically, they spray a layer of tar, and then roll gravel into it. Kind of like a gravel road, only more stable. There’s a Goodyear commercial tire dealer in Phoenix, as I recall, who does tire recapping on premises. I got to tour the operation, and it was actually pretty interesting, all of the different steps and checks the tire has to go through.

I agree with you about west Texas asphalt. It's like riding on a gravel road loosely tied together with tar. Noisy ride on that rough textured pavement, and wears the crap out of a set of tires.

Sucks that the GY supercharger isn’t open to the public. I know a lot of people were looking forward to the San Angelo supercharger before Tesla axed it from their coming soon list.

If you scaped off the 50 pounds of bugs you might not have to use the Clayton Supercharger, but you would have to do it every 20 minutes so probably not worth it. 😝

Imteresting. That’s the route I use from Houston to Vail in our ICE car. I’ve always thought about taking the Tesla but it required going through Kansas for that reason. Nice to know! Also, if you are too tired to make it to Trinidad CO, the Holiday Inn Express in Raton NM is a good stop and pretty decent.

I use a wheelchair and I’m planning to get a Tesla Model X in a few weeks. I was wondering if you have seen any disabled drivers on your roadtrips. Also, I was hoping that you could help advocate for a wheelchair accessible Tesla model. Seems like a wheelchair ramp van would be very feasible.

You definitely need more friends en-route who can help you keep your windscreen tip-top.

So, model 3 has a crossbar above the B pillar but non for the rear seat? It seems to be a better design than the Model Y. I tested a model y and the rear seat headroom is small. As I lean my head back, I hit the crossbar behind my head (I'm 6'2).

They should start putting a windshield scrubby thing at the Superchargers for all them Bugs on your windshield 🤣

Since the Supercharger is unlisted do you still have to pay for it since when you Supercharge it displays the location of the Supercharger in you bill

Charging on your Tesla road trips seems a lot more seamless than the Porsche and others. Seems like the other suppliers and car manufacturers need to step up their game.

As I watch your leapfrogging about, I am wondering if I could adjust to the EV journey tempo of regular short breaks or whether the 400 mi ICE blitzkrieg is still preferred. It seems that EV recharging adds about 15% to transit time.

Still rocking your NC tag, even though you dogged us and moved to Colorado. Traitor!!! Did Goodyear say if they were ever going to offer some Model 3-sized EV-specific tires? No EV/Eco-focused tire they offer is compatible with Model 3 for various reasons like load index or sizing. BTW, ask Drew if I can get a friends and family discount on some wheels for my Model 3 P. I’ve got to do something to improve efficiency over the thirsty 20” wheels. ;)
