I just reserved the 1st BYD Seal in Costa Rica and will be delivered in June, I got the AWD version for $61k USD. I test drove it and it’s amazing, can’t wait.

Love that the BYD still looks like a car from the inside. with Normal instruments in front of the steering wheel, and the Gear Selector is located on the center console.. That some big turn off for the tesla for me.

Based on what you've shown the BYD wins hands down from a design point of view for me. Can't wait to see what it looks like in the metal when it arrives in the UK. Suggestions are that it will be arriving in the summer, so not long to wait. It will be interesting to see details of warranties as I've not seen anything about this yet. I think it's one of the weak points of Tesla but if BYD can provide the same levels as the South Korean manufacturers and the price is as competitive as you suggest, I think it will sell very well indeed.

The BYD Seal arrived in Brazil, I will soon buy mine, there is nothing comparable in the same price range.

BYD Looks better and can give much more miles than Tesla it looks a badass car tech and interior looks great. Tesla needs to change the price and interior with head up display at least. I was about to go for Tesla than thought hell no as my friend has a problem with long runs in Tesla taxi and the charging wait. I would definitely go for BYD seal

In The Netherlands the BYD Atto3 is priced at € 42.000. The Seal is a size bigger, so I'm curious if BYD will price the Seal under 40K or low in de 40K.

Already on the waiting-list to test the Seal in August/September. I'm curious about the interior quality, the user-friendliness of the infotainment system, the real range (RWD version) and, of course, the price here in BE. Personally, the Seal is visually way more attractive then the "minimalistic" Tesla's and the "special"-looking Ioniq 6. Unfortunately, the DC charging-rate of 150 KW (peek) and 570 km WLTP range (RWD) isn't great for going on vacation. As a newcomer on the European market, who needs to prove itself on this market, I'm hoping they will price the Seal correctly around ~€40 000 up to ~€50 000 for higher spec.

Competition is vital in this space. Tesla knows it has the best package in the west so the seal should make them innovate more and this is great for us the customers.

Very hard to compare Power Hour with range, and speed is vague and incomplete. I would like a side-by-side comparison using the same language and or units of measure. This is not "vs" for you provided no way to compare.

I got following price estimates in Finland : ”Long range” RWD 47-48.000€ and AWD 52-53.000€.

Does BYD have an international charging network? No? Then bugger off.

It is may not BYD not want to sell better price in EU, but not allowed as they will be charged dump tax or get banned, the western governments really do not want people to benefit from cheaper price.

With a starting price at £46500 for the Seal, I am not sure it pips the M3 really. It was billed to beat it on price but that appears to be NOT the case.

Have driven the Tesla Model 3, and that central, big tablet screen is so distracting - even to check your speed, you have to check the top corner of the tablet screen. Not good. Also it does too much of the driving for a driving enthusiast, I prefer to do more of the steering & indicating, and just use the car's radar etc for positioning / following distance. So, my next car will be similar to BYD Seal, but with 100-120kWh battery. I want a minimal interference electric car, that is about driver comfort rather than a computer on wheels.

Definitely the BYD SEAL is far superior in everything! The best, most modern and safest batteries in the world, a much more refined interior and a stunning design. ❤️ Surprising 🏆

BYD 2/3 of the price of a Tesla model 3? Let's wait and see. The Atto 3 is just about 25000 Euro in China, but 42000 Euro in Germany. The Seal is 30000 Euro in China, would translate to 50000 Euro in Germany.

It looks like it should really sell (outside of USA at least). China is already banning Teslas in certain "sensitive" areas due to the possibility of the car spying, and I think the USA is a bit reluctant to allow sales in the USA over the fear of BYD spying on the USA (and not being made in a "western" country let alone USA). Outside of China and USA, probably people care less about this, although its something to be aware of (for both cars really). I do think the Tesla Supercharger network is worth quite a bit though - even here in NZ there are enough superchargers to be useful. Here they are fast, always seem to be available, and super reliable (never seen one broken - unlike public charging where I have many times come across broken chargers). So the BYD needs to be cheaper than the Tesla for them to sell - waiting to see how the Seal will be priced here!

I problably go with Tesla because of it's branding. Kinda feel like Tesla is longer in this business. I would go for BYD if the price is 20% lower than Tesla.

Think I’ll give it a miss. Looks like a great car but a 200mi round trip to see it/test drive it. Then 100mi to collect; and if anything went wrong and the car was drivable and safe to do so, more 200mi round trips. And the same for each service. I’ll stick with what I’ve got for now. More dealers in future… I’ll give it a rethink.

I recently tried the BYD Han, really good car at first thought, lots of features but also lots of rubbish plastic, the Tesla is no match, sorry BYD! The software of Tesla, the practicality, the performance and the built quality are miles ahead.. In this video it is mentioned the BYD Seal to cost 25k Euros in Europe, now that's just false. The ugly small BYD Dolphin starts at 30k, and the much nicer Seal, according to BYD, should be priced at around 43k! Which is only 3k cheaper than the Model 3. Not competitive enough against a big name with a huge charging platform across the continent. BYD Seal should start at 35k to be actually competitive with Tesla, it is still a Chinese car with a lot of poor quality plastic to be found inside, the infotainment is not nearly as good as the one Tesla has too, nor is the driving experience, the BYD Han has a lot of power, but the regenerative braking did not feel as safe and as responsive as the Tesla even though I tried all the modes. I would consider the BYD Seal at 35k, not more. And a better infotainment.

Once again, let me remind everybody that TESLA is not just a car company. The BYD SEAL looks impressive and boasts outstanding quality, but it lacks the DOJO technology found in TESLA. TESLA's focus is primarily on AI technology. Additionally, it is important to note that when a Chinese car is sold outside of China, a significant portion of its sales profits contribute to China's defense expenditures.
