I don’t see why people have a problem with this. The first time I heard it in real life I was enjoying it because it felt like it emphasizes the fact that it’s electric. This sounds like the future

Fun Fact: This is actually a safety feature that is implemented in a lot of electric and hybrid cars to let blind and/or inattentive pedestrians know there’s a car coming especially at low speeds (>10 mph) since there is not organic engine sound to provide ambient noise. I believe it is also a newly mandated thing by road safety departments… I could be wrong though.

I hear this sound sometimes multiple times throughout the day in my neighborhood and always wondered what it was!! I thought it was some kind of alarm somewhere and always got annoyed. This solves the mystery.

I’m not trying to say that I hate Tesla. I really like how Tesla is making EVs the future. A few of my friends and family own Teslas and they’re pretty nice to have. I only feel that they’re too expensive for most people and are only affordable to the middle/upper classes

It's a safety feature to alert pedestrians when the car is in motion. The RAV4 hybrid makes a similar noise when the engine is off.

I was just saying that a lower pitch sound is actually identifiable to where its coming from. My explanation/argument isnt worth really going forward as im wasting my time and yours, but i was just saying: "wow cool a back up signal, thats kinda neat, oh they didnt make it like every other back up signal? what an obvious but genius idea!" thats all. i could go on but theres literally no point...

The tires make enough sound when moving. But it definitely should during low speeds. Even gas cars are so quiet now, they should make sounds too while moving at low speeds.
