the procedure is wrong. that cooler cannot handle all the power produced by the 12715 and the hot side of the peltier becomes much hotter than the 12705. thats why the cold side is warmer.

12705 =60 watts, 12715 = 180 watts, your power supply = 145.2 watts max on the 12vdc output. In your video you mention 'a charger" split between both peltier's needing 240 watts. in short if test was to discredit the China made peltier, you need to try again IMO.

Heat sinks are rated in watts, the higher rated peltier would require a larger heat sink than the lower rated peltier to to make testing fair.

well wehn speaking about this kind you are using a thermal machine, using (let it be an example) a certain amount of energy per time unit, to move thermic enrgy against the natural flow of it. from the coolest to the hottest. wehn comparing two thermal machines, you may be true about dissipation but to be honest, here is tested the QUALITY: with same power you get less thermal flow from the china made one. two power different ones, tested with same power input (given the imput is less than the maximum of the less powerful cell), two same-quality units, should at least move same amount of thermal energy. meaning the china one is still less eefficient, whatever thermal dissipation u put on it. @@boogeymanarms2403

The power consumption is different from the thermal power transfer, the actual power transfer of the 12715 is actually 127W at 15v 15a, at 12v 15a the actual thermal power transfer is ~101W, but u have to remember that cooling the hot side is very important...

12715 was not given enough supply to demonstrate it full capability. This test is not quite scientific IMO.

The cooler is in inverse position. As it is a heatpipe type cooler the liquid inside should always be in contact with the plate, which is not happening so the cooler capacity will be very less.

I have seen 2 videos of you now where you are not applying the thermal paste correctly. You should do it in a way you do not have air captured. Please watch videos on the subject here on KZfaq.

Thanks for sharing your discovery. I'm trying to make a small refrigerator (For a 1Lt water bottle), that remains running 24 hours all year, that consumes few watts (I'm in South America) to be powered by USB. This video has helped me, but... if anyone knows of a guide, I really appreciate it :)

You need a lot of energy, this module consumes a lot, it works at over 12 volts, You can also think of a solar panel for this project

look up heat pipes. They don't work upside down very well as the working fluid that boils and transfers heat has followed gravity. turn your experiment right-side up and try again.

I need to replace a broken peltier. It consumes 5A at 10.5V. I bought a 12V10A peltier (TEC1-12710) but it only consumes round about 3A at 10.5V. Any ideas why? The cooling power is not sufficient..

Yes, you could run 2 of them for 12amps. But not 3 of them at 18amps. Find a 14v power supply at 15amp to drive one of these. Longevity suffers for performance mind you.

hi, I do not know . I did not try, but I think the first module that takes the temperature from the other, should be cooled more strongly by a fan and radiator double than the normal one. And that would lead to the same thing, the better it is cooled on the hot side, the more it cools down the other side

That guy not aware about the law of physics. Hit always tends to flows upward on liquid & air. When the hit sink or hot part direct down & the cold part up then the hit transfer quickly to the cold sink or ice. If the Tec1-12715 produce more hit then this orientation tend to transfer more to the cold surface that effects & alter the experiment. Don't think the both are same effects as they are same orientation they are very in power accordingly and so on

It's a common misconception that heat rises. It doesn't. Hot _air_ rises because it expands.
@fuzzytaint5021
@fuzzytaint5021 Жыл бұрын
They werent talking about heat, but instead the heat pipes. Heat pipes contain liquid that evaporates and carries the heat upward to the fin stack and then condenses back into a cooler liquid and falls back down to the cold plate. So yes, this cooler is upside down causing the cold plate to heatsoak with the higher load and thus, skewing the results.

You should only apply the thermal paste with a pea sized dot, not all around.
@coolness4487
@coolness4487 Жыл бұрын
That is only the case on a cpu cooler becuase the high mounting pressure spreads out the thermal paste. The peltier module is not getting pushed down so the thermal paste won't spread.
