Before you watch this quick review... Here's a few things to bear in mind: 1) I've been shooting bows for over 27 years and I've come to expect high levels of accuracy and consistency from my shooting. 2) I own and operate TAP BECAUSE my mentality is about driving performance levels higher... This makes me somewhat biased in how I assess products. 3) Given the large amount of time I've spent shooting and setting bows up over the years it doesn't take me long to be able to gauge the potential of a product and the capabilities it can bring to a bow. 🎯🎯🎯
The EZ V Sight is SOLIDLY built and it WILL deliver consistent kill shots with a bit of work and adjustment to the process on YOUR part.

Like the truthful review on the sight. I also shoot one of these. I’m not a target shooter so I will never shoot a pin sight again. As far as elevation it’s just a simple as it is on the ground. Like you said it’s a hunting sight. Thanks again

Nice to see an unbiased review on this sight. The EZ V channel would have people believe this thing is an auto kill at nearly any range.

it's a competent sight ... but it is by NO means an automatic kill shot product and as noted in the video, may not be suitable at all for some archers.

Good review.I have the sight and has found that with the more I practice the easier it gets. I can walk around my buddy's yard shooting a leaf around 40 yards with it. I agree though I would not shoot much past 40 yards with this site... But that may be due to my old eyes.

The open site picture is the real advantage of this sight to me. Pins blur with my vision. I am right handed, I shoot right handed, but I am left eye dominant. I also wear contact lenses. A peep sight and pins don’t work well for me. I ditched my pin sight and peep. I switched to the EZV, kisser button and a nose button to maintain consistent anchor point. Now i have a clear sight picture and am liking the sight a lot. I have only had the sight a month and I killed a squirrel with it at 18 yards last weekend. If shooting over 40 yards i would recommend using the tic marks.

Agreed on the tic marks at longer ranges.... that would help it be more precise.

Thanks for sharing your opinion on the EZV . But, you’re comparing apples to oranges. The fact that you range every shot , can hit small things at long distances and use a 10k’th pin sight means you demand a precision target sight. The EZV is designed for quick targeting in hunting situations at ethical distances (under 30yards in my humble opinion). It has also help me control my target panic . It may not be for everyone but it sure has worked for me..... happy hunting

I agree that pins are more precise. On my sight tape if I know the yardage I can shoot to 100 pretty decent. The owner if says it's a hunting sight though.so if the deer is at 40 exactly and stays there and you know it's 40 the pins win. But , if the deer walks by a tree that's 40 and deer is 44 ish by the time you shoot if say the V wins. For shooting know distance at standing targets the pins and sight tape are dead nuts. If you're hunting at aprx distances or unknown distance the EZ really shines once you get good at it.
@TapArchery
@TapArchery 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I can certainly see how that would be true! I think that with time and practice I could definitely become relatively accurate with it .... however, I would have a difficult time breaking away from the precise aiming point (0.010") on my pin sights.

I'm lucky if I can see 40 to start with LOL Joking, pins are becoming a real PITA for me.. Bifocals. And I really don't hunt where I can see shooting past 40. 40 would be VERY far. I loved your review! Thanks!

I have no idea why you would test it without the hash marks, especially when it's new to you. They even tell you that at longer distances, which for most of us is over 40, the hash marks (with corresponding yardage) are useful. A dead deer doesn't care how tight your 50 yard groups are.
@TapArchery
@TapArchery 4 жыл бұрын
Because it would be of no use to me to switch to a sight like this (and accept lesser accuracy) if hashmarks are necessary...defeats what I see as the purpose of a point and shoot design. This video is really not a knock on the sight ...it's just not what I look for in terms of precision....but well built and quite functional design.

this is TRUE... perfect accuracy can never be fully obtained. I do however always attempt to achieve the best accuracy possible and use the most precise hunting sights I can. I'm currently shooting the HHA Tetra Tournament sight.

This is a decent review. I didn’t buy this site because I hoped to shoot targets more accurately. I was interested in having the ability to range deer at full draw and make a lethal kill. I would argue that I am more accurate at various ranges when shooting at deer or deer targets using this site without a range finder than I am with pins and without a range finder. This site can truly eliminate the need for a range finder within 40 - 45 yards. I will also add that I am equally accurate with a range finder using the tick marks as I am with a range finder and pins. It’s nice to have the option to pull out the range finder and make a precision shot using the tick marks or without the range finder and sizing the target up in the V. I would only consider going back to pins if I decided to hunt out west where shots over 50 yards are common.

I could see all those things you said being true with that sight then with that in mind I suppose of you plan on keeping your shots under 30 35 which in most deer woods a guy is within 20 or less on whitetails given you are set up on em right

Very well done video with super video quality. I have shot this sight 4 a year. I will point out a few things 2 provide insight. It is so true that everybody has different expectations with different hunting setups. These r the things I found where the sight shines. U hunted with a recurve but now u need letoff with a compound. U hunt primarily from a tree or have experience with pendulums which worked 4 u but wanted more durability. U hunt with a heavy arrow with high FOC rather than an arrow that is designed 2 have very flat trajectory @ long distances where the target animal can't hear your bow when shot. U hunt private & public land but almost all your shot opportunities r the last 15 or 1st 15 minutes of light. U hunt pinchpoints where if u see an animal it will likely be well within your range but @ a quartering angle & if u target shoot 3D targets many months a year with points & broadheads. My confidence after sitting 4 hours in a tree & only see the animal I have identified as the 1 I am after is way up there with this sight. I shoot tight on the shoulder & this sight has done that 4 me in practice as well as in hunting situations.

Didn't take long for me to realize that I didn't want to sacrifice the precision I'm used to... Could I have been successful with it on the 20-30 yd shots I typically have on Whitetails??... Of course! But throughout the Spring and Summer season I regularly shoot from 60-100 yds... And I expect to put together very tight groups at those ranges... It's what I enjoy. This sight (while certainly functional as strictly a hunting sight) would have never been able to meet the long range shooting standards I have for my hunting bows.

It’s refreshing to see an unbiased review. I’ve been wanting to check out one of these sights, but nobody around me has one. I've seen some guys shooting the V and getting awfully small groups at 50 and 60 yards. Now as for hunting.... that's more than enough. Its biggest disadvantage hands down is shooting extended ranges like 100 or 150. Alot of guys are doing this to make 50 yards a lot easier.
@TapArchery
@TapArchery 4 жыл бұрын
@@acanuck3267 based on my considerable experience with long range shooting.... 80-100+ yds with this sight is entirely out of the question ...at least if you want groups smaller than 10" on a consistent basis. I can see 50-60 yds being manageable with a lot of practice/repetition.
