I think you should try it. If you get it off of Amazon & it really doesn't work you could always return it. I'd get it except I'm ok with the pans I have now & I don't really cook all that much anyway. Mostly because my fibromyalgia/auto immune means I can't really clean up until the next day or so. So mostly I go over to my friends where my grill currently is & he does the cleanup while I collapse on the couch. Before feeling guilty & at least taking the trash out for him.

I tried it. First of all, I have arthritis, and it has to be screwed onto the pan; that really hurt my wrist. And then it didn’t fit on my all clad pan I returned it.

My first thought upon seeing that was that it seems like one of those products that was originally developed to help people with some sort of physical disability, but that they decided to market to the general public as well. Many products that seem "silly" or "unnecessary" come from this kind of situation.
@lartrak

@@AgentOrange96 Yeah, toilet paper wands spring to mind. People mocked those ads heavily, but don't really think about how bad it is to not be able to wipe yourself due to mobility issues, and that simple device can fix it. Genuinely serious quality of life improvement for many people, the inventor should be proud.

I am seeing another "plus" for the ZipQuicker is that the "freed" hand would be available for using a spoon, spatula, or fork to help move any remaining solutions and solids into the bag.

I recently chopped up my peppers and onions and it was a pain trying to get the pieces into the bag without anything keeping the top open. I was thinking of getting the Zip thing, but as he said, $26 is steep for the product. I generally am not putting liquids into zip bags, so not a need for me.

@@Gooseyourdad I've done this, too, however, depending what food you're putting in the bag it can be difficult to get out of the jar once the bag is filled. One of the main features of this gadget is that it is wide all the way from the opening to the bottom. That's the selling pint for me.

The ziplock bag holders would also work pretty well to hold the bags open in the dishwasher, so they can be reused. I have a different set of gadgets that does the same thing, and I probably get 15-20 uses out of each bag. Haven't bought ziplocks in years, and I'm saving a ton of plastic from the landfill. The pan buddy honestly sounds like such a good help and it's good to know it also fits the Onlypan. I think even lighter pans can be quite the hassle once they're full of food. Seeing you walk around with it makes me think this would be really helpful for people the eat outside a lot, transferring the food to the table would be much more comfortable.

I have problems with my wrists so the Pan Buddy might come in handy. The Flower Power steam release thing is cute. The Zip Quicker can be used for more than one thing. For example, I could stack my boxes of plastic bags inside the Zip Quicker between uses. The small one would be great for holding folded paper napkins. The larger one could hold a small roll of paper towels, or be used to stack paper plates or hold the tops of plastic container lids at a barbecue or picnic.

My big question with the Zip Quicker is how many fillings it will last for being bent like that. Most kinds of plastic will weaken over time and eventually break from doing that too often.
@duckfisney3649
@duckfisney3649 11 ай бұрын
If someone wants a cheap alternative to the zip, get a wire shelf, from dollar store or the $1.25 store, with proper length for the height of the bag you use (like for lockers, or can find similar kitchen cabinet one) and turn it upside down. Those wire easily bendable yet sturdy enough to change width to hold open the bags. I prefer those other bag openers and holders over the zip because they are collapsible. The zip is just a thin acrylic self turned upside down. Over time stress on bending it will break it.

Great video! I have no use for the Pan Buddy, but that seems like a great idea for those who need it. Love the Zip Quicker, but at that price, I'll DIY it. No chance I pay anywhere close to that for such a simple product. In fact, I wouldn't even bother waiting for it to go on sale, because it would likely still be too high.

@kriscynical
@kriscynical 11 ай бұрын
They make a much better version of that, which he's already reviewed in the past. It was a round base with two extendable arms with clips on the ends of them, and you extend the arms to the size of bag you have. When not being used it all folds flat to go in a drawer. My family owns one of those (and did for years before he reviewed it) and THAT ONE is fantastic. It was only like $6, too. And it works beautifully.

Oooo I totally need those bag holders. I've tried various other things like small pitchers or jars and they can get annoying because of the spouts or the jars have tapered rims that can make it hard to get the bags out once filled. These seem so handy and I figure storing some of these will be a lot less to store than trying to store a ton of tupperware with lids. Been wanting to go to all bags for food saving instead but w/o a sturdy way to fill them (due to limited hand mobility) it hasn't been practical until now. What a game changer for me! Going to get rid of (recycle) my cabinet full of disposable tupperwares - these will save me so much storage space!! Not to mention the nightmare of worrying about matching lids to containers anymore. Been looking for a solution like this for a while but those clip baggie holders are just a hot mess and too flimsy. - THANKS for this one!!!

It's fun watching James taking his crockery out for a walk. All are good and helpful ideas and they seem to work. But I wish you had a cast iron pan. I have one. If the Pan Buddy fits, it would be awesome.

it should work fine as cast iron is what it talks about on the box

@@OverkillBillsXbox Thanks! Now that I watch it again I see it. I didn't look carefully enough.

I agree with the last product, the quick zipper is a cool product but a very high price for 2 pieces of plastic. The pan buddy I think I may get one as I have a hard time carrying pans.

Man that pan buddy would have come in handy after I got out of my wrist brace last year....a mended broken wrist will still ache like MAD when you pick up a skillet.

I thought the Zip Quicker was cool until I heard the price. $26 for $1 in materials. I'll wait until China copies it and sells it for a more reasonable price.

Temu has something very similar for 88 cents. They call it the Baggy Rack.

I wonder how well the Pan Buddy would work on a cast iron pan? 🤔
