Thank you for your kind feedback! I have an idea of creating a string of videos that I am going to call “Tractor Basics”. I spend a lot of time in different Facebook tractor groups and find a lot of the same questions being asked over and over again. I am thinking a series of videos could help with everything from tractor sizing, weight considerations, loader operations, options, etc. Do you think something like that would be helpful? If so, are there any specific topics you’d like to see?

@@JaredsShop From my perspective, where I am, that would be awesome. I am just getting into this life and trying not to make a bunch of dumb mistakes buying redundant equipment because I didn’t understand the utility/limitations. I am not a hardcore no till but don’t want to punish the land for a couple successful rotations and then have it in an unhealthy state. I also have all the chores of a farm so I need to level ground, grate the road, move snow, as well as move compost, logs, soil, etc. Those are the areas I am most interested now.

@@yougotthatright1635 Thank you so much for your feedback. I’ll make some notes and ensure I try to cover those areas. I know a lot of people who are new to equipment don’t always know where to turn and may not want to ask new questions openly on the internet. I’m hoping these videos can fill a void and give help to those that need it. It will be stress free without fear of getting chastised on the internet. I’m lucky that I grew up on a farm and had others to learn from. I know that is not the case for a lot of people. Some have others they can lean on and others do not. I have a few local people I help mentor because they were raised around equipment and don’t have any other help.

I want to use mine more. I think I’m going to try to use the floating top link on it next time. I was adjusting the hydraulic top link and didn’t always have it sitting level. The floating mechanical top link should help it flex a bit during uneven terrain.

@@JaredsShop most times I didn't use stabilizer bars but just let it float. Never thot to use the chain top link(it was usually on the finish mower) but it would let the disc freefloat some. If it works would like to see vid on that! Thanks

Yep. I was happy to get it done and impressed with the tractor. It continues to impress me. After watching the video I think I’m going to use my floating top linkage with the disk next time. That way it can articulate separately from the tractor.

@@JaredsShop kubota can handle it kubota is like a hulk wich ive used to haul 4 cords of blocked up wood in a doubble axel trailer on a kubota g2160 wich pretty strong 21hp little beast

I had R4 industrial tires but swapped them out because I do a lot of yard seeding and other work like that. I needed lower impact tires.

I didn’t realize those tractors were lighter. A lot of those older tractors were quite stout and had quite a bit of torque. I am pleasantly surprised how well my tractor handles it. I think the L3560 is greatly underestimated. So many people keep telling me my tractor should only handle a 5’.

@@JaredsShop It looked me that the 6 foot was not a problem. Just found your channel and subscribed. We out grew our little 17hp Kubota that is around 40 years old. We are getting a new Grand L 3560 le rops model in probably March. We are just waiting on the 805 fel to come in.

@@jimmcknight3021 It did handle it just fine. I love my L3560. It get used for all types of work. I think it’s the most capable tractor of its size.

I do plan on adding weight for testing. I have some 40lb Deere weights that I’m going to make a hanger for so they can easily removed. I purposely left this the way it was just to see how it would perform. Normally I would spray and kill the weeds first. So far it just jumps. I haven’t broke a disc yet but I’m sure I will eventually. One of these has a split from the previous owner. There were times I didn’t have the disc leveled well, which I noticed when editing the videos. I have a hydraulic top link so it’s easy to adjust if I want to dig just the fronts. I think I might also use my floating top adapter so the disc can level itself when needed.

I never had much luck adding weight to discs. Just tilt them ur wait for some rain. I've broken a few blades but if you slow down and set front blades more severe it usually let them sink in.

It definitely seemed to pull it well.

I’ll lift it and spin the axles. I looked at them when I bought it and don’t remember a bent axle. I did have a loose axle nut that allowed the discs to wobble. Maybe that’s what you saw?

It depends on the layout of the land. Next time I’ll use the floating top link adapters so it can pivot independently of the tractor.

I have a hydraulic top link and adjust it on the fly. When I first hit it I put the weight on the front to try and get through the weeds.

It all depends on what you’re using them for. I’ve had R1s and R4s. If you’ve seen my other videos you’ll see that I seed yards so I need something that has low impact. These also do surprisingly well in my muddy woods. You’d be surprised and are severely underestimating these. I have zero regrets this far. If I didn’t do a lot of side work where I’m in peoples yards, I’d go back to a different tire. For now, these are the perfect fit for me.

@@JaredsShop might be regional. Don't see much turf tires on dirt tractors(northwest Mo.) I do like to use disc to level and work up yards etc. I've had a dozen or so but like the 6.5 or 7 foot on smaller tractors for smaller jobs. It's amazing that the 22hp Ford 8n pulled the old 7 1/2 foot Dearborns all over the fields in the midwest. They had R1 ag tires but those were good for field work. Keep showing you videos and I won't criticise your turffies.

@@tlm3574 I don’t think it’s necessarily regional, although you do usually see more turfs in areas with snow. If you look back through my videos you’ll see that I originally had R4s on this tractor. It’s heavy enough that if drove across a yard in the spring, it’d leave cleats that felt like rumble strips to the zero turn. I knew if I wanted to do finite work in yards I’d need something more forgiving. The turfs available on the Grand Ls are unlike most turfs. They’re almost like a truck mud tire. The lugs are huge. The tires are wide and they’re squared off on the side. They’re not ballooned like a lot of turfs. My woods stays wet 10-11 months out of the year and I don’t hesitate to work in there. Granted, I’m not able to drag a 10,000# log out through 12” of mud, but I can drag decent sized logs and do general work through moderate mud. Once they release R14s for the Grand Ls, I may buy a set to swap out in case I need to work in deep mud. Right now, I can pull as hard on dry ground as any other tire. The width gives me a lot more bite than skinnier tires that will spin before I do. I never would have believed these tires would do as well as they do if I didn’t own them. As a side note, up until a few years ago, we farmed. We started off with old Deere’s years ago, like 4020s, and some other smaller tractors that I can’t remember. We slowly upgraded, went through large articulating tractors and had large Case when we decided to stop farming. I’m definitely familiar with tire types, dirt work, etc. Cheers!

@@tlm3574 I have yet to disc a yard, but also own a Harley rake. I’ve bid a couple yards that probably would’ve needed disced because they were previous corn fields. I probably would’ve used the landscape rake to rip up the stalls first and then disced. I’ve also tilled some before planting. It just all depends on what the ground is like.
