Trying to figure out how to make ocean caves more likely to connect to underground lakes at a lower level.

I see underwater caving becoming much more useful now. Swimming as low as you can through aquifers like this would technically be the best way to look for diamonds (reduced air exposure and maximum surface area)
@th3_ph4ntomreborn312 жыл бұрын
Yea and the reputation potion and the turtle helmet are now actually useful
@misterk7_-2 жыл бұрын
@@th3_ph4ntomreborn31 I still have no idea what the turtle helmet actually does 😆
@noahboddy14842 жыл бұрын
@@misterk7_- it gives you water breathing for 10 seconds, which isn't very helpful because you can just use air pockets by placing down doors to breathe underwater, and you can also use them to make a potion of the turtle master, which makes you really tough but also super slow, and still isn't very helpful in normal survival because you can just wear some good enchanted armor and then you keep your toughness and retain your mobility. Turtle helmets are best used for vanity/decorating your character, really.
@amorilla38352 жыл бұрын
@@noahboddy1484 In Bedrock if you place a door underwater it just becomes instantly waterlogged. But currently I'm not sure if it's intended feature or bug but you can use drip stone and cauldrons to make a potion farm which is great for water breathing among other things

I was just looking at your tweet about this and was about to suggest something like dropping the ocean floor a bit deeper at places so they can connect with aquifers and cave systems but this is also looks cool! Every part of the caves and cliffs update is coming together really well! You and your team are making a great game right now!

1.18 is easily going to be one of if not THE best update the game has ever had. It would be cool if kelp or sea grass could generate in aquifers.

Great to see that you are exploring and showcasing it in survival - probably how most people play it. Really interesting. I hope that this connectivity is not too frequent though, so that regular underground mining is not too often "interrupted" by huge lakes. Good stuff.

Great change! I always thought that the ocean caves were relatively disappointing in 1.18, but now they are great now! Also on an unrelated note, emeralds are kind of rare in mountains. I think the rate should be increased quite a bit and should spawn at -y5 for deepslate ver. accessibility.

@@Ravenist I mean, its unconventional but Jack-o-Lanterns
@humourlessjester35842 жыл бұрын
I don't think they're that bad. They definitely add more dynamic travel inside the caves, makes you more aware of your surroundings cuz it's constantly changing. It's just when they clash weirdly with above ground stuff that it gets a bit annoying imo, but nothing a stack of sponges can't fix.
I think the oceanic aquifers are at a good frequency, but aquifers under lakes and rivers should really be reduced
@tizmemc2 жыл бұрын
@@humourlessjester3584 yeah... but they are far too common. I actually have tested in survival and it's too common and therefore its annoying in both late and early game. I think it should be made like a bit more less
