Ewers footwork is still a mess at times 6:54, but he has definitely made strides with his accuracy, at least so far this season! He's a good decision maker, arm talent is effortless, despite the footwork, makes this throw look easy 3:45. Still too early, but easy to see why this guy can be a top pick.

@ 11:00 caps off a truly awful sequence of plays for #1. I flat out don’t trust this guy’s athleticism. I don’t trust the speed and I don’t trust the change of direction. He looked absolutely overmatched in space this whole drive, whether he was trying to tackle Sanders or Brooks, or here trying to cover Mitchell. I also think he struggles generally to get off wide receiver blocks (even against an awful blocker like Mitchell). I think the tackling is average at best. He’s got pretty good feet and decent instincts but a guy without the high level athleticism at that position needs to be able to hang his hat on exceptional instincts and exceptional technique and I don’t see that either. Just look at the way the drive started with the long pass down the sideline where he’s in good position but just late getting his head around to make a play on the ball. When I watch a guy like Abrams-Draine before watching Kool Aid, to me the difference in instincts is stark. And Abrams-Draine I don’t think is a blazer either but in terms of being able to find the ball is really, really good. And when Abrams-Draine gets in the compressed space of the red zone he shines even brighter. This rep here by Kool Aid to finish drive is simply non-competitive. I mean Mitchell might as well have been playing against air.

I understand what you're saying here but I think that was a bad rep to show it. Watch the back angle and note what the DB on the other side is doing, clearly designed for Kool-Aid to bail here. That was a walk-in because the RPO drew in 2 and Ewers just had to put the throw over him. Kool-aid could've done better but I understand why he with inside help would be more prone to take away the fade ball from the big receiver.

@@costasgeorgiou5048 I appreciate the dialogue. I guess my first question is if he’s bailing to take away the fade why doesn’t he ever execute a zone turn and side pedal? Why is he staying square the whole time? The way I’ve always seen bail explained is the corner should execute a zone turn (sometimes after first widening to the outside, sometimes not) and then side peddle. Is the technique being taught differently by the ‘Bama staff? It seems to me that he stays square in part to be able to drive on the quick in breaker, but failed to do so in this instance because he overreacted to the jab step/outside fake.

Idc what anybody says that Texas game was the luckiest game. I watched them hold turner and braswell and oatis consistently no call. Can’t blame refs but whoever called this game sucks. Also milroe was throwing a ton of picks at this time. If they play again Alabama will beat them easily

Cap as fuck. "Alabama will beat them easily" Lmfaoo meanwhile Texas owns bama. Like 8-2. Mind you Texas only losses to Bama is when they injure the starting QB.

@@tyreek.6815 they would’ve. They would’ve gotten blown if they played again. Alabama had a completely different team on the field then they did when they played Texas.
