This video we are having lots of fun using some new moulds that I just got from ReDesign and some IOD . So join me as I test out using these moulds and attaching them to some of my thrift finds that I painted with texture paint mixture.

I work with air dry clay on a $ Tree chopping mat. 2/$1 in a pkg. I paint on it too. I cut the clay on it. Nice size too. Semi-transparent so you can use on your cutting mat it shows through. Save your surface.

Yvonne, LOVE that sunflower mound and I’m thinking that will be my next investment. You did a beautiful job and I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who goes back and sands down the “less than perfect” spots! Beautiful work!

I love that sunflower mold too! Thanks for sharing a more affordable waxing brush with us. Everyone can’t afford the fanciest of paints and brushes. It nice that you are able to include affordable tips for all crafters that watch you channel. Thanks

Don't be afraid to use more cornstarch. I use a really cheap clay, and when it comes in, it's very wet. So I use quite a bit. When the clay has set for a couple of hours, I go back with a gentle brush, and dust off the extra. Also, I use the back edhe of a long slender knife, to get the extra clay off of the mold. You're doing a great job. All clays act a little differently. But after you get the feel for it, you'll be a pro! A couple more things I do....keep your project away from vents, place a plastic bag over your project so it all dries in the same , and if you'll add some glue to what you put in your mold, it helps with cracks.

Tip. Lay the wet mold onto the surface you are going to glue it to. It'll mold itself to the round shape of the canister. Once it's dry, then glue it on. Looks great though!!

Hi Yvonne the press and seal is a great tip! I use a small rolling pin to flatten the clay and a palette knife to remove excess. I always have a time getting the clay out of the moulds. You are amazing!

I have a hint for you to use as a scraper. The little sample Formica samples at Lowe’s or Home Depot work wonders on lots of things!

Yvonne, wow I love these, I have the sunflower mold and love it! After watching your Video I ordered the farmhouse mold from Etsy. Thank you for you tips. Just a note, adhesive spray glue works well I also add titebond glue the adhesive works immediately while the other glue dries. I also use pool noodle cut to size lol for stability while working on round objects. You are an inspiration!

Love the sunflower mould, I used your idea to cut it in half for smaller containers. I put it on a small watering can. Turned out amazing. I use blue painters tape to hold my moulds in place while the glue dries. Love everything you do ❤️❤️❤️

Those look great! You can brush the wood glue onto the back of the mold, using a small paint brush, for smoother application and if it is difficult to get your clay out of the moulds, add a little water kneaded into the clay to make it smoother. That will keep your clay from breaking and crumbling. Good luck!

Love them!!!! Yvonne, turn the items so it is facing you …. It is your project and you will turn it around once on. I wouldn’t care and I’m sure others wouldn’t either. Make it easier on yourself. Although you do VERY WELL with everything upside down 👍 I love how you do the Antiquing Wax along the bottom to darken the pieces! And those Sunflowers are gorgeous. Also love the black handle, top and spout top on the watering can piece! Such great visions you have ! Always an excellent turnout ! Hugs to you ! 🧡🧡🧡🍁🍁🧡🧡🧡

Love using the molds. I also put clay on items and use the regular stamps and press it into the clay. Kind of a reverse mold. It’s super cute!

Nice! Watching you work and listening to your commentary, made me think of an old adage: When you choose a job you love, you will never “work” for the rest of your life. Btw…those Pampered Chef brown scrapers are my favorite too…I’ve even used it to smooth caulking on the tub.

Hi there, if you use decorators caulk in the moulds, the moulds stay flexible, but you would need to make them in advance as the take a good 24 hours to dry, but oh my they turn out great. I do a production line and set out all the moulds i have and then fill them with the caulking and usually do this once a week, its kinda messy but way cheaper than clay, and the flexibility is brilliant and you can still use wood glue to stick them on what ever project you are working on. Hope this helps you

Yvonne, when I work on a round surface I use a bowl from Dollar Tree with rice, I put the rice in a zip lock bag and it works great to keep the project in place

Good tip.. I usually use two lint rollers. But I was too lazy to go into the house to get them. I was in the workshop 🤗🥴

I have the sunflower mold and love it! My one wish is that they would have included a smaller, fully open flower in the mold set too, but that's a bit off topic from what you created here. Each one of these pieces turned out fantastic! You would never guess that they weren't created that way from the manufacturer.

Love your ideas. Get yourself a glue-bot to put your quick N thick in. Bot gives you alot more control. I love mine for stuff like this!

Hello, my online crafting buddy! It's me in northeastern NC again. I've been wanting to try working with air-dry clay and molds. One thing I did want to pass along to you... when scraping the excess clay on the backside of the image, try using an old credit card or your debit card. It appears to work great. I've seen others doing it. I could watch your videos all day long!

I really love how thorough you are with your pieces. I see so many people just slop things together. I can tell you really care about the products you are selling. I use a plastic rolling pin for fondant on the silicone molds. Works great!

I have some of the IOD molds, I love them! I use a small rolling pin! It’s actually a rolling pin that I used for fondant when make cakes in the past! It works well! I roll from center to outside going both directions! I love the animal molds! I am def going to get the sunflower! I love it! I love all your work! So beautiful! Thank you for sharing !!

Another terrific video! I love the technical, artistic term. “ Slap it on.” Lol. I like the combo of some black and the multi layer effect of homemade chalk paint , and layers of wax. A rich antique look.
