That looks very similar to the switches Buick used in the 60s on their solid throttle linkage. It was mounted near the 'elbow' where the rod from the gas pedal and rod from the Carter AFB pivoted.

How is it installed where the cables were connected? If you can show me, I would appreciate it.

That switch is also used on the lid of a washing machine, like a Maytag.

Microwaves, dryers, anything that has a safety switch. Just make sure your wife isn't around before you rob it lol

Is there a second video of how you hooked it up?

Thanks for the explanation. Working on a TH400 that I just rebuilt and there is no connection to the kick down solenoid and I found some blogs saying to use the NOS switch but no details on how to connect it to the throttle. Very helpful. At what amount of throttle should the switch be engaged?

Glad it helped man. So should be at about 3/4 to full throttle. Basically full throttle when you want to pass somebody

I'm just looking for some advice 1978 350 Chevy with a turbo 400 transmission it has vacuum modulator valve on the passenger side of the transmission my brother-in-law has a car for the last 25 years he told me the car had a cable and bracket for kickdown on the driver side he told me one of his friends stalled it I've been driving the car for a month and I've looked under the car transmission there is no linkage or holes to hook up a kickdown cable on the driver side of the transmission any ideas
@augustoescobar503 жыл бұрын
Well there is no kickdown cable for either a th350 or th400 on the driver side. There is however ache kickdown switch "hookup" on the drivers side. It's small about the size of a nickel and it's a male spade connection. That's possibly what he was referring to. The only other cable on the driver side is possibly the cable for the shifter on a floor mount shifter. Hope this helps

@@augustoescobar50 i think it did. I'm going to look for a micro switch tomorrow. If I can (and did) install '09 Corolla electric power steering in my daughter's '63 Nova and keep the column shift auto, I can do this!
