So I'm currently living in the Philippines and have to watch our boys play at some weird times in the day, but being born and raised in Vancouver and the Canucks being the first team I attached myself too as a 5 year old boy, I never find it compromising. I stumbled upon this channel whilst searching for Canucks content on youtube after the Edmonton opener and I stuck around because every time I hear others talk about our team, its under scrutiny or with a heavy amount of skepticism - its draining and the negativity takes away from whats actually happening on the ice, so this was differnet. Watching this season unfold has been nothing shy of remarkable and finding this community that you've put together where we can celebrate the highs and the lows in positive ways has really made me fall back in love with this sport. Hockey has always been such an important part of my life and the Canucks really showed me what it meant to support a team you believe in. The way this video was put together really drove me back to those years as a 16 year old watching our team make it to the finals - what a time. I've always had a chip on my shoulder when it came to Chicago (even though beddsie is there rn), especially those years with Toews, Kane, and Keith.. so seeing THAT Burrows goal again brought shivers down my spine and had me elated. Luongo night was special for those who grew up in that Canucks era. The saves he made were mind blowing at times and even his Olympic run in Vancouver is something i'll never forget. Given that it's been hard in recent years to put faith in our team, watching our boys put us back on the map is such a good feeling - Lu even said in his speech "I'm so happy for you guys, Hockey is fun again in Vancouver. This is the way it's supposed to be.", and I couldn't agree more. Thank you for going week to week and delivering content like this - its refreshing and you're doing an absolutely amazing job and it's awesome being here at the start of it all. Just came back from an Xmas party hosted by a hard core Bruins fan. My fault for starting the trash and in response he kept throwing 2011 in my face. But, during the Islander/ Bruins overtime game (fun to watch btw) I mentioned this game. Even my Bruins buddy had to admit it was a pretty damn cool turn of events. Love Luongo. Only Canuck jersey I own. Luu is a class act.

I have never been a canucks fans I was actually always a rival as they were my dads favourite team but even I remember watching that playoffs with my dad cheering for the canucks to win while I cheered every other team in 6 year old fashion

I was around 14 during that 2011 playoff run too, the chill I just got from watching that blackhawks game 7 goal. I was in my aunts place which is across from Rogers and the whole downtown area was honking and cheering

What a great video to commend such a legend! I may have teared up a little hearing all the Luuuuuuuuooooooos in the crowd, Luongo was and still is my favourite goalie and I have so many memories getting to watch him on the screen and live. Demko is no slouch though, and it was so amazing getting to see him get a shutout after the night honoured Luongo. Garland's making some incredible plays too and Dakota's goals against the Panthers were so much fun to watch. Thanks for pointing out Miller's Hoggy shout, I didn't notice it during the game and it's great knowing some of the players on the ice use the same nicknames we do! I don't know if the prediction counts considering the game against Minnesota happened already, but I haven't seen it nor the score yet (I know, sacrilegious to not watch it live, I'm waiting for someone to watch it with them), so I predict another shutout either from Demko or DeSmith since he shut the Wild down so well in the game where the Canucks embarrassed the Wild. Goal-wise... I'm so bad at predictions haha, maybe 2:0 Canucks? I think Wild will be more ready than last time but we're still going to thump them hopefully As for the game tomorrow against Chicago- 3:1 Canucks, I think Chicago's rookie might score one but I think our boys can shut the rest of their team down

As a kid I had NHL 2001 on CD ROM and always played Florida because I thought Panthers were cool. So when my teammates or coach would ask me which goalie was my favorite I always defaulted to Luongo. Eventually lead to me be a Luongo super fan and I was jumping for joy when he got to be on the Canucks. Thrilled he's been honored by Vanvouver in such a special way! Been absolutely loving the Canuck's this season and Demko has been a beast!

man, i was bawling during the whole ceremony. i had forgotten how much luongo meant to me growing up. i was 13 when luongo made that save in 2011, and im jealous of you i cant remember that save or many of the saves he made cuz i dont remember much from my childhood. I would give anything to be able to go back and watch just one game from that era as an adult to fully appreciate what i missed as a kid. although i dont think id be able to watch through the tears haha

I remember distinctly the feeling in that game 7 against Chicago. The mixture of fear, rage and sadness I had as seemingly everything was going wrong was unlike anything i had felt watching sports. Luongo and Burrows will forever be legendary in BC because of that overtime period! Keep up the great content and positivity, it's much appreciated!
