all jokes aside, hearing them talk about their experiences with SA was insane, especially Ludwig's. They kind of just breezed over it but holy shit. It's so sad it is that common and I respect them so much for talking about it publicly like this

I started this ep on Spotify on my drive home, and it just starts with Slime saying "I'm not sorry" and I listened to the first 30 minutes having to kind of use context clues to figure out wtf was happening. By the end of that 30 mins I came to the conclusion they must be sitting like in a dirt field in a crater that was comically supposed to be where their house was after it got blown up. So I get home, turn this episode on, watch the opening skit, and when it cuts to them sitting in the blown up attic I've never laughed so fucking hard in my life.

As one of the few women (and almost 40yr old aswell) listening: i'm so sorry these things happened to you, as you also said they happen to us a LOT and it is definitely not ok! And yes, Slime is also exactly right: i was attacked once and almost attacked another time just bc i said "Don't touch me!" when being groped in a club. It's crazy.

the thumbnail and title has me watching this in such a state of anxiety but also the intro made me want you guys to make a whole sitcom that's an exaggerated version of your lives

It was great to hear the guys talking about being segsually harassed. I was similarly harassed when I worked at Arby’s and upper management hit me with that sick “Ayo, you’re crazy for that. You are a guy, aren’t you?” It was very affirming to hear Aiden and Ludwig express the feeling of helplessness everyone told me wasn’t possible for me to feel

Jesus, the way aiden was talking about his SA experiences were so sad. Especially when he was questioning/blaming that it mightve been the way he presented himself was why they did it :(

I'm so sorry for the SA experiences... And I totally understand what Aiden was saying, but I'd like to add that it is never the victim's fault. We feel hopeless and confused after these experiences so we tend to blame ourselves, "did I do something that made them think I was hitting on them?", "maybe they misunderstood my intentions?". It's a very normal feeling we get but it truly isn't your fault. Again, I'm sorry you guys had to go through that.

Aiden popped off hard these last couple episodes. I love Slime and Nick's humor so much, but credit where it's due, Aiden was hilarious.

1:17:19 Slime is so right with this. As men, we just don't really understand the fact that women LITERALLY have to constantly be aware of everyone around them. It's this sense of self preservation that they need to develop since childhood. It really is sad to think about. Imagine never being able to fully relax for fear of being put in a situation that you do not want to be in. Men just cannot understand simply because we don't live with that fear.

I love how chaotic the ad reads are, barely managing to convey the actual message

The transition between skit and live is cleaner than most. It's like, I see this cut to the boys with shell-shocked expressions on a trashed set, and internalize it as them proceeding with a punchline to end off this sketch before we cut to the podcast proper. But then the scene just refuses to end. This *is* the pod. Layer this befuddlement atop the persisting unsureness over how serious the clickabit title is being, and this video truly becomes... An Experience.

sorry to hear about that lud and aimen and slime, i think all guys have stories like this that we all keep buried cause sosayego but its cool seeing dudes being more open, also this set was great and brought so many good entertaignement, on too bigger and better things

This was the first episode of the yard I ever watched bc I was a big ludbud at the time. The thumbnail pulled me in and it was maybe 2 days old at the time. Had a great time and I went back to watch from the beginning. It took 9 months to catch up but here I am. Love the pod.

amazing ep! if i have to reminisce too i think aiden is the MVP of the pod. he is the pivot of the pod and the one that makes me crack up all the time. the soft spoken jokes and the one liners that he sometimes comes up with are AMAZING

Slime was right. Edit: I've also been groped once or twice by elders. One of my old friends asked if I wanted to go to Reno for this Rib Cook-off thing. I went. Shit was fire. Anyways, my buddy, his brother, a couple others and I were waiting in line to get some lemonade to drink and the line is essentially two rows of people with anyone else just walking past pretty much being shoulder to shoulder and I'm kind of a big guy so it's packed for me. So we're just hanging out waiting for the line to move up and just out of nowhere, I feel my left cheek being grasped somewhat gingerly but also firm, from the inside of my back pocket, like an attempt at palming a basketball. I was so shaken by being touched at all that I spin around towards where I assume this person is grabbing me from and all my eyes catch is this somewhat frail looking older woman's hand leaving just where my butt was in a trailing hand behind kinda way but she's walking away in the crowd and gone before I could put together what just happened. By the time we got our lemonade I whispered to my friend next to me that I was just grabbed at by an old lady and I'm so embarassed even whispering it because I'm a bigger guy and weakness like that is pretty stigmatized. Went home, felt weird, still feel weird. Also put into perspective a lot of shit for me as a gross edgy teen back then, so maybe a blessing in disguise but whatever. There have been a couple other times this has happened, but this was the first and weirdest. Second time I got that Rocket Power handshake type motion (I cannot be anymore serious, even I'm still wondering why that) done on my lovehandles while I was working and I was face to face with that guy when I turned around. Told him straight up to leave before his cane turned into a wheelchair and my manager was fine with it since he saw everything on camera afterwards.

I'm really impressed and encouraged by Aiden and Ludwig telling those stories. Revealing that you were in a vulnerable position like that, as a dude, is really really hard, for like, lots of reasons. My cousin visited our fam once when I was in college, and I took out my cousin's daughter (13 or 14 years old) with my friendgroup of the time who were well-off progressive liberal college town homies, and I found out later that one of them, who was 22 at the time (and a trans woman - sorry but it's relevant to the story, keep reading) had followed her into the changing rooms at the Macy's to try on clothes with her in the same tiny mirror-walled cubicle changing room. Apparently, my """friend""" had said to my niece "oh don't worry it's fine" and that she'd help her tell if her fit looked good from the back. My niece really wanted to fit in with us older young-adults back then, so she didn't tell me how scared she was that day until years later. Queer sexual assault is still sexual assault. And people who hide behind the "Oh I was just looking out for [younger/weaker/employee/unconfident] person! I really care about them! Don't be -phobic." to justify aggressive creepiness in any niche culture, are still just the same ole' aggressive creeps, using a new Insta filter. Victoria, if you see this, I'm still really sorry I put you through that. And, yep, I watch every episode--you got me hooked lol. Thanks again for recommending this and that Dropouts podcast!

I cannot believe that I am being "To Be Continued..." on whether or not this podcast will keep going. I know it is very likely it will continue and they are just teasing a new set but if it does end here then I respect the run. There were some good laughs and fun times.

Random asf, i used this podcast to overcome my fear of climbing into the attic. I’m super drunk rn and my dad left the attic light on. I’m terrified of the fuckin attic and have never climbed that creepy collapsable latter in my life, but i just let this podcast blast on my phone and by focusing on the bullshit being spewed i managed to climb up there and turn the light off. So thanks i guess.
