Unlike ticsandroses, this lady is not jolly every single time she gets a tic nor continuously talks about each one of them every time they happen. Instead, she just keeps going into the conversation. That's another hint she is not faking it.

@@mcvenne8935 As an autistic person I somewhat disagree with your comment, but I think agree with your intentions. Yes, people shouldn't say they might be autistic just because they have some traits considered to be signs of autism, but on the other hand people who genuinely feel like they fit in better with autistic people or highly suspect they're autistic/struggle with things autistic people commonly struggle with shouldn't be invalidated or dismissed as faking it for attention, I know autistic people who don't have a diagnosis but I'd be very surprised if it turned out they were neurotypical. Also, autism isn't a disorder it's a neurodiversity, it's a disability because autistic people are a minority in a world made for neurotypical people, if you switched it round and neurotypical people were the minority they'd be the ones struggling.

I don't usually want to be too harsh on people who have faked tourettes. Personally faked tics a few years ago because that was the "only thing" that people would have sympathy for. (Later on it was one of the reasons i got into a really bad depression) Either way that's not fine. I have a few friends that I've known for, like 7 years and they have started to have "tics" at 16, and (I don't want to assume) it is really not that realistic how they react to those, and I have a really strong fealing that they are faking them

I hope the minor is doing ok now, since once I called them out my account was deleted for harassment on the media i could warn them with. And then theres the fakers who have 100+ alters of quackity or some other dsmp character variations and say we cant accuse ANYONE of sysfaking. Like uh, yes, we can? Its possible to have 100 alters but you would NOT be able to function as well as you are now with choosing what dsmp alter to bring out every day.(irl fictives exist too but not that many 💀). Yuuup classic sign of being legit is if they're doing tics that cause damage. Not even just hitting but also twitching the same neck/hand/facial muscles over and over. It's rather boring for a tic and hurts quite a bit so the fakers normally don't so those.

Majority of people who Tourette’s or tics online aren’t faking it. The only reason people think they are is because the creators that DO fake is are given more attention, which makes people only see the bad people instead of the many other people simply just trying to spread awareness or just have fun. This happens so much with just any community online and it’s so upsetting to see amazing people like this get harassed because of the misconceptions made about her and her disorder

Bro, trust me when I say that it’s not easy to do that. I was basically dogpiled for something I said about someone randomly mentioning their disability/disorder in response to a possible SO’s text. The SO was asking for advice on the other person and how to respond or whatever. I said it could be a red flag, because people who have an actual disability/disorder don’t usually randomly bring it up unless it was prompted. People who use it as an excuse tend to be faking or just shirking blame, in my experience. People were pissed that I used the word “disorder”, telling me that “being neurodivergent implies that it’s not a disorder” . . . Even though “neurodivergent” was the word that replaced “mental disorder” in many people’s lexicons. They are literally synonymous. (Excuse the following tangent) I hate the word neurodivergent and prefer the word disorder because to me, it’s more accurate. I took a class on neurology. There’s no such thing as a typical brain. Everyone is neurodivergent because despite there being areas of the brain that are ‘supposed’ to be dedicated to a certain function/series of functions, the neurological functions of brains do not necessarily follow that same structure every single time. The inner workings (which is what neurology refers to, specifically) vary greatly between individuals. What I, and many others have, are disabilities because our brains are *NOT ABLE* to process information correctly. There is something missing or added in that changes the way that we think, function, or view the world around us. Why is it that instead of being able to reclaim the word “disability” and turn it into something positive and less offensive, we have to use a word that not all people with disabilities agreed upon using? Why is it that when I use the term I prefer, it’s inherently seen as a bad thing? I just don’t understand why we have to change the language we use to refer to something we already have language to describe, especially when the new language is less accurate or factual than what was originally being used. Especially especially when that language has been, in recent times, used to create an “us vs them” mentality between “neurodivergents” and “neurotypicals”!
@thatvalensteingirl
@thatvalensteingirl Жыл бұрын
@@MollyMargolisBillCipherIsBaeIts absolutely an "us vs them" partly because people have decided to treat disorders/divergence like a really cool, exclusive and special club that the "normies" aren't cool enough to be part of...so kids are faking to get in. I had a friend a couple years ago at school, let’s call her Lizzy. Lizzy has Tourettes and sometimes when we waited at the car park together to be picked up she would apologise and run off to the other side by herself upset that she couldn’t stop ticking. Her tics were mainly coughing, grunting and twitching so even when I went over to ask her if she was okay or needed me to do anything she’d turn away embarrassed, try to cover her face and not look at me. I always felt so awful and wanted to help her, tell her that she didn’t have to run away and it was okay. Especially when my ex bff went around to everyone faking sneezing and screaming and giggling bc she had ‘pippets’ as she would say. She was a full on psychopath that hacked people’s emails (including mine) to make them say horrible stuff to her, some girl she didn’t get in with, our teachers and get our passes reset. So yes, things like that just made Lizzy feel more upset with herself, I’d caught her crying in the bathroom a couple of times thinking she was a ‘freak of nature that shouldn’t exist’ because the psycho had yelled at her and said awful things, I tried to be there for her and she just told me to leave her alone. Is there anything I can do in situations like these to help people in the future?? I just want people to be comfortable in their own skin, because Ik personally what it’s like to be bullied as an outsider and called an ‘outcast’ bc of my ADHD. Any advice is appreciated xx

I have some tics as well, and a somewhat rarer one is that my neck will tense into my shoulder and I won’t be able to relax it for a couple seconds. This is probably the only one I’ll respond to aloud, since it distracts me from the conversation and I’ll usually say, “One sec,” while I wait for it to stop. Aside from that, with other tics like snapping my fingers or tensing my face, I’ll probably just continue a conversation like nothing’s happening.

Oh, that's not bad. My brother used to have one that was hard to deal with. If any said words like "rig, dig, pig, wig, big" etc, my brother would just say "nig, nig, FULLL ON N-word". He would try so hard to hold it in, but he couldn't. He HAD to say it. That lasted from about the time he was 9 until about 13. It was hard in public as you might imagine. There was no malice or hatred behind it, he just could NOT keep it inside. God Bless 🥰

@anilnegi6309 As he got older, the ticks would change. Now he will be 40 this August and has had pretty much the same ones since he was about 20. There is the knocking as hard as he can on tables and counters and doors as he passes by them, some bizarre screech that sounds like a dinosaur, opening his eyes very wide, rhyming words with swear words like "truck, truck F-word" out of nowhere and some strange slurping sound he does when he is trying to get thoughts out when he is frustrated or angry. Unfortunately, he is also bipolar and refuses to take medication so as the bipolar mood changes, the Tourette's symptoms get less or more depending on if he is in an up cycle or down cycle. He had some really bad ones growing up compared to what he does now.

In sophomore year of high school, I took an SSRI that caused me to get tardive dyskinesia. It causes involentary movements in the face and neck. I remember having this one movement where I would tilt my head real fast and it started causing neck pains. During my time with it, the people in my school kept telling me to "stop faking tourettes" and that it wasnt funny or cool. I tried telling them that it was a side effect of my medication and in no way is it tourettes, but they just called me a liar and said things like "wow you did your research haha." So not only are people with tourettes being accused of faking it, but also people with other movement disorders.

I don't support TicsandRoses, but their sister confirmed that they actually have a rare fatal condition called Huntington's disease. My father also had Huntington's; my sister has juvenile huntington's. Huntington's Disease is known to give people mental disorders- such as schizophrenia or ocd like my dad- which might be why TicsandRoses faked having tourettes. They probably wanted attention because of a mental problem due to Huntington's and faked having tics. Sorta ironically though, Huntington's disease can give you serve tics and/or twitches, which they might actually be getting now since Huntington's gets worse over time.

Yup. “You’re just faking it” is a very common comment towards people with disorders/disabilities. I was told I was faking my neurodivergency because I don’t really show it often. I’ve gotten really good at masking after elementary school because of how bullied I was, so now this is just me and how I act. And because I act so “normal” and “social” and “emotionally intelligent” in situations, it’s gotten me ridicule because apparently we’re all supposed to be clones of Sheldon Cooper who are always jittering and flapping our hands around without breaks. We just vibrate in our sleeps. 🤦 God. Like, I know I’m supposed to be a big people person a lot of the time but… sometimes I just can’t stand you mf’ers y’now?💀

I was always bad at "acting normal" so, while ostracized for most of my school life, I was never accused of faking mine, I was diagnosed recently and, while my father has always listened and understood, my mother thinks she does without actually listening and there aren't almost any attempts on her part to do so. For example, I was very excited about a video so I went to her multiple times to share the informations without noticing her annoyance. Instead of telling me "now it isn't the time" she just "endured" and then started screaming at me: I was wrong to do that, sure, but goddamn it I didn't even know that she felt that way! And miscommunications like this happen pretty often because I can't pick up on fairly subtle visual cues.

@@shinybearevidra no. That wasn’t your fault. That’s a terrible way for her to handle that situation and you shouldn’t have to feel sorry about it if she never once mentioned her annoyance. People need to understand everybody communicates differently, and that she shouldn’t make it a persons problem shes your too pissed off to bother understanding that. It seems saying certain words that are tics of hers also causes her to say those tics more. I think it depends on the person and the situation. Personally, I don't think anyone needs to have this mindset that we should be trying to expose people as fakers or try to figure out who is faking, as it only hurts the people who actually have the condition more. I have DID and we get a very similar sentiment. Most people think we’re faking, some people seem to think we’re dangerous, and some people seem to think it makes us less of a person as a whole. I don’t get to talk about my DID anymore because someone will fakeclaim me and I imagine it’s a very similar scenario with people with Tourette’s, and my heart goes out to the people with it, as I feel it’s probably worse on them when they cannot hide their Tourette’s. I’ve been diagnosed for 2-3 years now and have been fakeclaimed so much We’ve grouped a bunch of alters that act similar to each other and called them the “base” and they’re who’s usually out because people don’t notice the difference. People tell me all the time that I’m faking because I can sometimes remember what’s happened or I can warn them if one of the harmful alters comes out, or especially that certain alter will “sleep” (not communicate with the others or remember what’s happened, more sleep later because different alters use different amounts of energy)

Not everyone who says they have a disorder is faking it. Disorders like Tourette’s are more common than you think. Edit: it’s not the only stuff I have, but they’re the two that are most commonly faked.

??? What do they mean you can't have it at 14?? Like it's a literal childhood-onset thing. If you haven't met the conditions for it in childhood (typically like elementary age), then you cannot have it as an adult. Osdd and DID cannot just *happen* in adulthood. People who think that a kid *cant* have either of them just have no idea what they are.

Same, I have ADHD and I used to talk about it on Instagram but some people thought that I faked my ADHD and tried to shame me for that, and this is annoying and it makes me feel bad I love that you speak out about it and inform people who don't understand, you deserve to be heard and you shouldn't have to be silenced Thank you

Greetings ADHDist, I really do not enjoy how simplified people describe ADHD like “haha funny not paying attention daydreaming.” It makes it sound less difficult than it really is when doing work, as a simple answer is to just “put things that distract you away and get it over with.” When in reality i’ll get a fifth way done with the assignment and probably fall in brain fog and struggle to comprehend words and make conclusions :/

I love how the tic at the end just lined up so perfectly with her actual point so we got " 'I got rice' and that's just something you're going to have to come to terms with" and it's absolutely classic 😂 I am so sorry you're struggling. I just hate people who aim to bring others down so much.
