one day i'll convine you to move to a shotgun mic, way harder to peak beause there's no condenser reprocessing the audio before it hits the XLR

@@dcmihatepie interestingly enough, I actually started out this channel using a Rhode shotgun mic, granted it was...10+ years old at the time.

@@DarthdYT I use the audio technica shotgun mics - I'm currently on the AT875R using a yamaha switchboard for noise gating and gain control. I've found the AT range really good for strong mids and lows with a really good attack (the fall off is parabolic so you never lose data even if you do happen to peak the mic). And the yamaha is great because it lets me keep the max range of the input from the XLR below the peak so it's theoretically impossible to peak

Yeah, there's definitely a big difference in his character development vs his character introduction.
