how do you know how to order the bags in the van so every parcel is from closest to furthest?

@@TiredofEarthmy DSP sends a PDF of the pick list each day that has all the routes and what bags, how many in each as well as what overflow belongs to what bag. Bags on the list are ordered first to last but to be honest it’s not your job to order them. The warehouse team are meant to load them on the cart so that the first bag you load is the last you use and the last you load is the first you use so.

@@Pink-wp2nw imo it should be first you load is the first you use, especially when you load from the back doors, doing FILO makes no sense especially now with it being busy having 17/18 bags + 20+ overflow. It’s dumb

@@matty4432 oh dude tell me about it, my DSP has hired some white sprinters without the middle door as well and they’re absolute hell if you can’t organise the bags easily, had 18 bags and 30 overflow yesterday and it was just chaos the entire day

They don’t have to deliver 250-300 parcels a day, they can take the 20 second detour and sulk about it 🤣

Join now so you do nurseries during peak for increased pay , that’s what I inadvertently did last year while other drivers were getting mega routes 😅

@@moonpie21012 when you first join you go on nursery routes for a few weeks that are just a lot less stops and parcels and then this gradually increases to get you used to the process and the area :)

​@@moonpie21012basically less parcels and stops so easier routes for new starters but after 2 weeks if I remember right you are doing normal standard routes like zack with 270+ parcels and 150+ stops

Amazon typically across stations give a day rate of the equivalent of around £12 an hour for a 9 hour route so for my DSP we get £108 a day after the £5 van rental fee, fuel is included through a fuel card at a petrol station next to our van yard, as is insurance and that’s the case for most DSPs so whatever you make is profit. We also have an invoicing service that’s 12.50 a week so our invoicing is done automatically. Overall if you’re willing to put the graft in and run around all day you can be getting paid £108 for 4-5 hours work since it’s a day rate and not hourly and then I know drivers ask to sweep people who are behind and make an extra £50+ so if you don’t have any ridiculous outgoings it’s a really good grind but also equally as good to do on the weekends for an extra couple hundred quid as a side hustle.

I own my own van so get £170 daily rate (large van 180-190 stops, 375-425 parcels, 16-18 bags 20-30 overflow on average) plus £15 mileage plus £3 for using my own phone as scanning device for 5-6 hours work (expert at door stepping 😂) plus I support struggling drivers for 20 stops @ £30.. so on average I make £1200-£1500 a week (I work 6 days a week) before expenses but bear in mind I'm self employed so come January it's slow so I earn less but never less than £1000 a week before expenses.. BTW there is peak time bonus (prime days, Christmas) which is £25 extra per day thought out November and December..
