The new F-15 can carry 22 air to air missiles ? That one plane could destroy Iran's whole air force... Seriously, WTF?

Yah, and it stands out on radar like a sore thumb It's not stealth, or even partial stealth, with longer range missiles. they stand no chance, and their land sams are no joke. check out a few of the computer simulations F15 and f35 blown out of the sky first, falcons can run like he doublehockysticks and are harder to see so they last longer diverting Long range missiles.

Fact is we need long range stand off air to air weapons, and with the f22 being a dying breed. We need a stealth platform to deliver them. The f35 won't cut it, the eagle won't either, that's why we have the f22.

F-15EX sitting duck to China's stealth............F-35 defeating 4.5gen aircraft for the last 2 years at major wargames 7 to 1. F-15EX is a 4.5 gen WOFTAM - waist of time effort and money.

I agree fully about the F 15ex and the falcon , but the f35 has no long range weapons, and mediocre missiles, and the Felon, and the Dragon, have long range weapons, long range good missiles .something we need if we don't have the f22 The f35 is too slow for new weapons. @@LeonAust M

Interesting to see the F16 turning into a sort of aerial scout plane. Seems like the idea is to alleviate the need for things like awacs to be close to the battlefield so as not to be easy targets for adversaries. With a fleet of F16s you can get real time radar data in a platform thats extremely capable of defending itself as well as joining the strike party.

We seem to be sticking with the high end drones. High end drones are good, but we also found out in Ukraine that Russian kami kazi drones were a threat to our M1A1 tanks. We need to work hard on effective defenses against low flying drones for both armor and infantry. ... I noticed on another site that they had made a drone with four rotor blades that could travel very fast for a low end drone. Maybe they could put a three barreled 7.62 machine gun under those drones. The barrels could swivel to some degree, changing the angle of fire into a cloud of enemy drones. This would not be the last answer to the problem of low flying drones, but it could ad a lot to our defensive networks. If an enemy comes out with stronger low flying drones maybe we could put a three barreled .50 cal. machine gun on the bottom of our hovering drones.

There was a story a few days ago about China developing an autonomous drone carrier that could be deployed at sea. Apparently, it is capable of releasing a “swarm” of up to 50 drones at once. Both the swarm and the drone carrier seem like developments that require a U.S. response in terms of R&D. I’m sure we already got stuff in the works, but like you said, US seems committed to high-end models.

The last Zumwalt class cruiser. She is designated as a destroyer of course. Yet is in fact larger than most WW-II cruisers, and comparable in size to USS Longbeach CGN-9. Demonstrating that if the US Navy wants cruisers? They must be designated destroyers, for funding! In retrospect, the Zumwalt class offered profit threatening options to the DOD, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Advanced guns firing inexpensive long range ballistic rounds inland. Accurately engaging targets ashore. Each target destroyed, a loss of profits for missile manufacturets. So the Zumwalt program was assailed by series pf poison pills. A clever way to defend profits. The most basic of which, was the large number of all new, unproven systems in the design. The most sublime of which was the gun contract itself. A gun cleverly designed to fire only ONE specifically manufactured round, from only ONE contractor. NOT a 155 mm gun able fire ANY existing 155 mm rounds already in inventory! As was the desired outcome for budget savings. Aside from all that. Gerald R. Ford got an aircraft carrier. Lyndon Johnson got a dysfunctional destroyer! What a snub! For the former president!

@@lastofchristianbyzantineem4935no…no it wont. The Zumwalt project was cancelled at least a decade ago, due to insanely high costs, even for the military that uses aircraft from 40+ years ago that cost more than 1 billion USD each. Plus there’s the whole “there’s only 3 Zumwalts in existence” bit. Compared to the 73 active Arleigh Burke DDGs currently in service, and 19 additional ones planned as of October 2023. In short…this thing ain’t replacing flip.

The drone swarms are coming. We already had a weapon that was used that was similar to a drone swarm. It was a huge guided bomb. As the bomb nears its targets, the panels fly off and a whole shit of of autonomous IR seeking disks get ejected. Each disk locks on to some IR signature and launches itself as a shaped charge toward the vehicle. What was left of an Iraqi tank column surrendered to marines in a Humvee after that weapon was used. I can't remember what it was called but you have enough info to find out about it now. That's probably the first technically real drone swarm. The new swarms are going to be some real sci fi shit whenever they finally get out.

Basically a lot of new thingies that go BOOM comes into Uncle Sam's arsenal in 2024.. Although not this year, we will see a lot of new game changing weapon systems coming on line until the end of this decade. Weapons that could really change the war fighting paradigm as we know it today.. From the B-21 raider to the 6th generation (NGAD) fighter jets. From AI controlled swarm UAVs to collaborative combat aerial drones that will follow the manned F-35s and NGADs into fight. From the next generation of the ballistic missile submarines (Columbia class) to the new ICBMs and the long range nuclear tipped cruise missiles (Sentinel and LRSO). And finally in the mid 2030s we'll see the next generation of US Navy's destroyers and attack submarines, ready to replace the venerable Arleigh Burke and the Virginia class. This is just a small part of the new weapons and capabilities that will arrive in the next 10-15 years. We can only hope that these weapons will be used as a deterrent as opposed to actually see them being used in large numbers...(especially the nuclear weapons LOL).

All the new air and naval weapons are critically important. JUST as important are tehnew land weapons coming online for the Army and Marine Corps. The M7 battle rifle withers powerful 6.8 x 51 cartridge and the rifle's TRULY revolutionary M157 VORTEX sight system is going to outclass our near peer enemies, especially China, with an 80% hit probability to 700 meters!! The companion M250 light machine gun using the same cartridge outperforms our current light machine guns in less weight, range, maintenance and overall usefulness by a large margin. Then there is the BOOKER light tank (but not called a tank by the army...), a new infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) replacing the very good Bradley, better HIMARS rockets, an new Abrams X tank and a Bell Valor tilt rotor Blackhawk replacement. So LOTS of upgrades coming in land warfare capability.

We get our engine parts and many other parts from China, as this admin has done away with American industry. Seems good enough to keep our f35 flying and other airframes. Their catching up, that's alarming., and were giving them everything to do it.@@DrakeingNbakeing

Our military is actually at an all time low numbers are down we have a reserve force less then 100 thousand troops and only 500 thousand troops and that is both combat and support. It takes a few years to take civilian and make him or her a soldier then few can actually fly drones and other high tech weapons. Our military is not as strong like it was ten years ago. But the difference weapons systems are the best but china can match many of our weapons systems in the next 2?years or so 😢

The US Navy needs more ships, badly. They also need new shipyards to assemble them in, and skilled workers to get it done. China is rapidly expanding shipyards and is building a massive navy to bully its neighbors, Taiwan, and eventually the USA. China scorns friendly diplomatic offers, and sees the US as "weak" for trying to repair relationships between the two countries. They also immediately protest and whine about being treated unfairly if the US takes a firm stance on something. Xi Jinping will soon test his ability to poke a bear with a sharp stick, and the US needs to be in a position to make him wish he had never tried.

@@SUNNYSTARSCOUT365 Here are details about the development of the Sentinel. In December 2022, the U.S. Air Force conducted the Sentinel's latest flight test. The missile successfully launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and landed safely at Edwards Air Force Base in California. In January 2023, the U.S. Air Force announced that the Sentinel will be ready for full-scale flight testing in 2024. In February 2023, the U.S. Air Force announced that the Sentinel will have a range of over 10,000 kilometers and can carry up to three nuclear warheads. The Sentinel is expected to enter service with the U.S. Air Force in the late 2020s.
