Not only does the end of August signify the end of British summertime and that 'back to school' feel, but it also marks the return of the Venice Film Festival. Every year, the biggest stars and names within the industry arrive at the beautiful Italian city for the glittering event, one of the biggest in the cinema calendar. Venice Film Festival is the world's longest-running film festival, and, for its 80th edition this year, the celebrity style gets was better than ever.
From shimmering sequins worn by the likes of Jessica Chastain, Madisin Rian and Isabelle Huppert to floral frocks from Sydney Sweeney and Carla Bruni, the 2023 red carpet certainly didn't disappoint. This year's festival was slightly different to previous years, as it coincided with the SAG-AFTRA strikes. As a result, many of the film stars present were prohibited from promoting their work, so the guest-list wasn't as star-studded as usual. Despite the strikes, some producers applied for waivers, allowing talent to attend, so there were still plenty of fashionable celebrities and breathtaking red carpet gowns by to be inspired.
