In this episode of TFBTV, ‪@JamesReeves‬ interviews Karl Brugger, founding member of B&T AG, about his invention, the B&T APC-10.
The B&T APC-10 is a submachine gun manufactured by the Swiss firearms company B&T AG (formerly known as Brugger & Thomet AG). The APC-10 is a scaled-up version of the company's APC-9 submachine gun and is chambered for the 10mm Auto cartridge.
The APC-10 features a compact design with a polymer lower receiver and an upper receiver made of aluminum alloy. It has a closed bolt blowback operating system, hydraulic recoil buffer system, and a miniturized bolt assembly that allows for a shorter overall length. The gun is also equipped with a folding stock and a Picatinny rail for the attachment of accessories such as optics and lights.
The APC-10 is designed primarily for use by law enforcement and military personnel, as well as civilian enthusiasts who are looking for a reliable and accurate submachine gun for sport or self-defense purposes.

@@kerrykalls7732 maybe… It is expensive, but from all reports B&T makes some amazingly well made firearms. Then again, it is just a pcc (is that what it would be called? I always think smg, but it’s not that, unfortunately…). It isn’t much more than the things Sig sells, so I’m not sure how overpriced it really is. Too much for me, either way.

10mm is awesome. Even during Covid when 45acp, 9mm, and .40 was all sold out, I was always able to get 10mm ammo over the counter at my LGS. Today I can get decent 10mm ammo for about .10 cents per bullet more than 9mm.

OMG!! The B&T APC-10 is pure perfection!🤩🤩 I love the 10mm cartrige and i think that PCC/SMG are the perfect platforms for managing the power and the recoil of the 10mm, better than standard handguns. B&T has alway a lot of good weapons, suppressord and accessories, the only "drawback" is the pretty high price.. but i know it has sense because of high quality productions.😎

I have a B&T MBT stock on an SBR PSA JAKL and it is pretty decent. It is a shame that Magpul discontinued the ACR stock as I have one of those on another JAKL and I like it more than the MBT.

I remember creating a mod for Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear. It was HK intensive because in those days it was all about the Hectic Krotch. I had 9mm, .40, and 10mm calibres for many variations of the MP5. I tuned the .40 and 10mm characteristics and sounds to what resources I could research at that time. I even had a description of its history in the equipment selection. The .40 was aight. But rocking the 10mm magazine MP5 models with heavier muzzle flash, impacts, and bumping sounds... it was my Hero calibre. Cool to see it getting attention again.

I own an APC10 over one year. I’m using a octane 45 with the tri- lug suppressor mount. Here’s what I have found: One. very simple to disassemble. Two. It does not like hollow points at all. [FTF]. Three. When I returned it to B&T for this, after a couple of months waiting, they made the excuse that they were shifting over their lines and did not have the machine necessary to smith the gun. For now, I will only shoot FMJ through it. One of your shooters decrying the delightful full auto fire during two mag dumps, failed to mention that his magazine only held 15 rounds - there needs to be a larger magazine capacity. I’ve had to ‘modify’ for >15. Lastly, I sure wish I could get a coupon / price incentive to purchase that neat brace. 💥🇺🇸

A Lot of 10mm sold today is what was once called '10mm FBI Load'. later, the case was cut down to match the powder level and that became the .40S&W. True 10mm will have almost twice the foot pounds of energy than a .40S&W. do your homework on the ammo you plan to purchase. there's one manufacturer that has over 1000 foot pounds.

Franklin Armory makes a binary trigger for the APC9 Pro. While it's quite expensive on top of the price of an APC9 Pro, it's as close as you can get to "full auto" without being full auto.

I love this unsuppressed in 10mm and definitely love the idea of an integrally suppressed unit as well. With Glock mags this is definitely an MP5 destroyer.

Problem is integral supressors are made to slow bullets to below speed of sound, a 40 cal would make more sense in an sd model since itd be the same bullet weights and less kick/cost. Regular cans dont slow rounds down but integrals do

Release as an SBR, with 5, 7.5, and 10 inch barrel length. Be useful for an emergency bear or hog gun. Longer barrels would be good for velocity to enhance penetration with the right ammo.

Is B&T actually affordable over in Europe? I'm guessing the American market gets hit with some if not all of the transfer fees associated with importing their guns to the states because B&T prices on their guns is absolutely insane.

Not by much, take into consideration that many guns are actually more expensive in Europe, so that indirectly makes B&T more competitive. The issue is that Switzerland is expensive, rather than B&T (it's arguably the most expensive country on the planet). Swiss companies in most sector simply cannot be competitive cost wise, that's why they instead go after the high-end market instead or nice products/services.

A FN SCAR costs 5K$ in Switzerland. A B&T 556 costs 2,5K$. So yes they are cheaper.

very interested to know about this .40 in a 10mm stuff. id like to know suppressor performance with different loads. sub vs super, if that is a "thing". that really makes this thing super attractive. would love to see more tests James, thanks. if i can run some cheaper, quieter, lower pressure rounds and then switch over to spicy bois.. i am so down.

@@fatoni698 Yep. Then there's the matter of the cost to find a specific load that won't penetrate as much. As much as I like it, 10mm remains an irregular cartridge and the price per round reflects that. Frankly though, overpenetration in the context of home defense is given too much weight. The ability to penetrate furniture, vehicle exteriors, doors, thin walls, etc., is something of value. Ideally, you're not spraying, so your rounds have a hard-surface destination. This last week there's been a big surge of home invasion shootings making the news. In most of them, the intruders (2-4 assailants) breach a front door and the homeowners in most cases fired rounds that pierced through the door. Wall-banging is for video games and war-those owners were lucky to live in conservative states where they weren't charged for firing at fleeing targets or reckless discharge. Moral implications aside, I would've given one or two of them the time to actually make entry before laying into them in those narrow choke points. That gives you a legal high ground and scumbags are removed from the population. Patience is key. The penetration itself is invaluable in cases when you're fighting from a vehicle or intending to penetrate one. It's more SHTF-oriented but worth considering.
