I think that it will! I feel like the support has grown BIG TIME since covid started. I have an LG CX and also picked up a Panasonic UB820 and the difference versus streaming (I compared 10 titles) is pretty significant. Physical media all the way!

If there ever was a Disney title more deserving of a 4K HDR release with Dolby Atmos it would be Dick Tracy. They are really missing an opportunity. The film was shot on 35mm and has color palette's that beg for a 4K transfer.

Disney will just throw some DNR on it and make the picture darker. Hand these classics over to Arrow or Scream Factory where they take pride and passion in preserving film.

Also I wanna let you know that as a physical media and an A/V enthusiast, when I tell people I’m a sucker for physical media I hear “you can stream everything now, what’s the point??” And when I start listing them the reasons, they stop listening. So I am really grateful for your channel and I think you easily deserve millions of subscribers with how detailed your reviews and rankings and explanations are. When I’m watching you it feels like I’m talking with a good friend about what we are both interested in, thank you and keep going!

Great job this year! Really nice to see this channel's growth. Suggestion category for next year: "Best Import". There are a TON of cool releases out there that sport different packaging, extras, etc. It would be nice to see some of that stuff get covered here moving forward. Thanks again & have a great 2022!

I honestly think that the 4k Battle Royale set released by Arrow Video is the best 4k of the year, it came with the 4k of the Theatrical cut, another 4k with the Special edition directors cut, it also came with the second film's theatrical cut and the second films special edition on two blu rays, it also came with a book, top trump cards of the characters in the first film, a booklet, a poster and an audio CD of the entire soundtrack and with a bunch of special features and all the transfers looked fantastic. But I do believe that it was a UK only release, but it was an amazing limited edition collectors set. The first film has now been released on 4k in standard packaging also. Highly recommend.

Great video. Hope this happens again. Love that you have a best artwork category. It's great that you gave the artist the shoutout they deserve. Would have liked to have seen some more obscure titles to give an underdog title the chance to go in the spotlight. eager to see another awards :)

I was amazed by Sony's 4K restoration of In the Line of Fire. Sony always does a good job. I love the artwork on the 4K disks of Blue Underground's Dead & Buried. If I could afford it, I would have wanted all three versions.

Glad Joel Robinson got some love in the video. Always been the best artist for Scream Factory. Funny thing, i asked him this past October about the new Halloween artwork. He said it was bittersweet bc he loved being able to do it, but was forced to make them all similar. With the Myers standing up front in all of them. I wish he had full control to do his own thing w it. Would’ve been so much better and more creative. Anyways, glad he won.

Another thing I love about arrow video is the reversible case artwork. I flip it when I get those limited editions so I can see both original poster art and the new arrow artwork. Loved the video! Can’t wait for next years!!

I agree wholeheartedly that it was interesting to see how the vote went from that size group of people. I'm not going to lie, it was fun to see the few categories they mostly agreed with me on. I'm still quite irate that Strange Days still has never gotten a North American Blu-ray release. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. Romeo is bleeding also has never gotten released on Blu-ray in North America that I'm aware of.

Here’s an underrated new blu-ray from 2021: Warren Beatty’s REDS (1981) from Paramount. Not a 4k but one of the best looking regular blu-ray transfers I’ve seen recently. A huge step up from the previous release. I’m assuming HEAVEN CAN WAIT also looks fantastic but never picked that one up.

I had wanted Hacksaw Ridge on 4k and missed the initial steelbook release. So I was very happy they released it again on 4k with a slip cover. Also loved the release of Ten Commandments on 4k.

thats the one i was most excited for as well, and they were all super old movies. I get they look "good" compared to the original version, but id like to know 2021's best looking picture. Which would probably have been dune (the new one lol)

Really great video, man!! Thanks for all the hard work. I will say, for the packaging & art and design categories, I was really surprised not to see more boutique stuff. This was a beyond incredible year for 4K release packaging from Severin Films, Vinegar Syndrome, Turbine Media, Capelight, Studio Canal and especially Second Sight Films. If you don't normally buy from those companies as much, I strongly suggest checking them out through this year. Would love to see more boutique representation:). Keep up the great woprk! Love the Channel, brotha. Arrow kind of F'ed up with the special features on Dune, though. There was supposed to be a new 2-hour doc on there but they decided not to include it at the last minute.

Like the Dune package, I got the Legend 1985 limited release one. It’s fantastic. Sadly, no 4K but it did get a new transfer. Original artwork was made unless you want the OG cover.

My friend, what we got with that Legend set (got the same one), is already solid as it is now. Based on the goings on, which prevented a 4k master, I'm happy with the 1080 effort.

Arrow Video for the most part disappointed me this year but I guess it comes down to what sort of films you are into the most. Did love their Battle Royale, Tremors & Django 4k releases though.
