The #KiaSorento was Kia's second SUV and it has quickly become one of the company's best-selling models. For 2021, the #KiaSorentoHybrid is the newest addition and while the #SorentoHybrid lacks AWD, a #SorentoPHEV is coming later this summer with up to 30 miles of EV only range, but until then, this #Hybrid version gets up to 37 MPG combined, making it the most fuel-efficient 3-row SUV you can buy today.

I have owned the 2021 Sorento EX hybrid for about a month now. Its rained quite a bit during that period. The non AWD was fine. For the little snow we get here in the Chicago area, I think I should be ok. The vehicle does deliver on the gas mileage. I am averaging over 40 , around 43 driving in town, as per the dash computer. The other nice thing i noticed was the vehicle can cruise in pure EV mode in neighborhood streets

While 18”+ wheels look amazing, 17” wheels are lighter (better fuel economy), use less expensive tires (when it comes time to replace) and have more sidewall to protect against potholes, curb rash, and they just ride smoother. I’m also living in SE Pennsylvania and as anyone who has even driven in PA knows, the roads SUCK! Full of potholes. I’ll take the 17” wheels for my family cruiser. Great review. Can’t wait for the plug-in hybrid review.

We have 19 kia niro hybrid , it has a six speed dct which works well with the electric motor . One of the reasons that I picked the Niro is because I really don't like cvt transmissions .Same thing with the 2.5 base sorrento . @@redpilljesus - Yeah…. NO. Toyota has gone down, but their non-looking computer controlled using anti-lock brakes system work remarkably well. While not as good as old school locking diffs, like the Jeep Rubicon’s, they are the best in class. If you talk to the people who drive in snow, or use their Kia’s or Hyundai’s AWD or 4x4 systems in mild sandy, rocky or dirt roads, you can clearly see in the videos that their systems do not engage to keep you moving, the slip like crazy and only help you maybe get unstuck. Not joking, Redlines own tests on the Palisade / Teluride models clearly show this. It’s better than nothing, but NOT meant to be used.

I actually understand why Hyundai/Kia offering wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto. Most consumers will buy the base to mid-level trim instead of a fully loaded spec trims. No other economy brand cars is offering that feature standard. Not Toyota. Not Honda. Or Nissan. It's actually a good marketing strategy to implement the latest tech features. And a good way to attract new customers. Would be nice the higher trims with the bigger infotainment screen offers wireless capability. Good thing Hyundai/Kia have advantage to update their own technology in their vehicles instead of working with a 3rd party. I'm really loving what Peter Schryer and Albert Biermann contributing to Hyundai/Genesis/Kia with design and drivetrain. These Korean brands have came a mighty long way from what it used to be.

A "tweener" vehicle? Do you consider the Ford Edge, the Santa Fe, and the Honda Passport, the Chevy Blazer, and the Toyota Venza "tweener" vehicles? Each of them is within an inch or two of the length of the Sorento. The Edge, Santa Fe, and Venza are actually shorter. What makes the Sorento unique among the smaller category of midsize SUVs is its standard third row, not its overall size, inside or out.

I'll have to totally disagree with the wheel thing. Big wheels are should be an option or offer in a sport version. Smaller wheel with more rubber gives a cushier ride, more protection against potholes, more offroad capabilities and are cheaper. Cars are not trains. Now, I'm actually very interested in getting, since my last road trip and I had cargo issues with my current cx5 and my parents don't have a car, so moving around with my 2 kids was a challenge, so having an extra 2 seats fits the bill, since my kids could easily ride on that third row and for the 98% of the time I could just folded down a carry more items. I love the fact that it's a hybrid, as I'm tire of conventional gas engines getting below EPA city numbers. If.you drive mostly city or live in a high traffic area like me, hybrids are the way to go, period (if money is a concern). I have frequent stop and go trips for less than 3 miles, so that's killing me.

These midsize SUVs , don't get me wrong it looks great and I'm sure a great car to travel with but as nice but as much as captain chairs I guess are nicer, I think they SUVs still need to be offered in bench seating even for the higher up trims, I need to seat 5 usually and it's not making sense for me for the third person in the back have to resort to sitting in the third row which isn't all that useful on most of these to begin with and also eating up my cargo space, this is why I think in the $35k range a CR-V , Tucson, or Santa Fe would be my choice, or if $45k might as well go to Acura RDX or something like that.

Audiophiles don’t prefer any sound system. If your are serious about your car audio, you will install aftermarket equipment and not option in an expensive factory stereo.

No memory seat for driver is such a turn off! My partner and I are so different in height, he’s 6’2 and I am 5’8. We have a GTI and it’s a pain every time we want to switch car.

@@chuckwalla2967 well we have a 328d and GTI, so we like to take the GTI to the mountain road here and there. The 328d is my partner main car.

Thing is, there are still some people that just need flat and level Sunday go to meeting transportation. They don't go out in foul weather and have zero use for all the bells and whistle. But I agree, if you don't want AWD chose a minivan or a sedan instead.

@@victreebel170 And 17” tires are much cheaper to replace. Plus, the thicker sidewalls protect the wheels from potholes and curb rash.

Idk what's up with these new bigger vehicles with small trunk spaces. That defeats the purpose of having a BIGGER vehicle. Smh

Love the look, but lacking normal levels of tech (memeory seats, bigger display, rear a/c controls, heated steering wheel, etc.) All wheel drive and leather I would never consider it. Atrocious looking wheels as well. I will skip the third row and get the 2022 Hyundai Tuscon.

The old logo is fine, Kia doesn’t need to change the logo, I don’t understand why so many people want Kia to change logo, after all, it’s just a logo, a new logo doesn’t make Kia suddenly become a luxury brand, it’s still a Kia. funny thing is, no one wants Ford to change logo, which is similar to the Kia logo, just spell out letters.
