After a wild 2024 NBA Playoffs, the NBA Finals matchup is now set in stone with the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics facing off. The Dallas Mavericks finished off their five game win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in dominant fashion with Luka Doncic grabbing the Western Conference Finals MVP Award. Anthony Edwards did his best, but he was no match for Luka, Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington, Dereck Lively, Daniel Gafford, and the elite Mavericks team that they have built. Meanwhile, Boston is waiting after sweeping the Indiana Pacers behind great play from Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White with a Kristaps Porzingis return on the horizon. It's a series that promises to be really fun and entertaining, so let's take a quick look at it.

Facts. It’s like none of it is in good faith. People just want to dunk and meme on players, like they’re not the best in the world. I really hate how reactionary and juvenile the nba fanbase is, I can be funny from time to time, but over all it’s tiresome and I’ve only been following for 7-8 years. The worst part is the actual surrounding media is just as bad as the teens on twitter. They just make up whatever narratives, get bs stats that can be manipulated to support any argument. Seriously I don’t see how it should be taken seriously as a sport at times

We were missing this luka in the first two rounds..His injury clearly affected him but people were crediting terrance mann and lu dort as luka stopper..Luka doing this to the best defense in the league should clear any doubts about those narratives.

@@tuna.warrior365 Luka sprained his knee in gm 3 and he was getting used to playing through the pain.. That's why he was shooting poorly..Ant and McDaniels are better defenders than Mann and lu dort..Also Luka was averaging like 30+ against both of them before this playoffs..So it's quite obvious that his injury affected him more than dort or Mann.

@@LowBrowProgramming They aren't the timberwolves though. Look at the numbers Luka was putting up in the last 4 games of the series. Celtics are good, have a good defense, but the timberwolves have the DPOY and were considered the best defense of the year... They had no answer for Luka. Not even touching on Kyrie. I don't care who wins, I'd chose the Mavs because Luka deserves a ring the most out of anyone in this finals, but to say that the celtics are gonna pose a threat to Luka's offense is kind of silly. But i guess we'll see, something tells me Luka is gonna do what he does and it really comes down to Kyrie and the role players. On paper it's the Celtics game to lose don't get me wrong, but having watched all the play off games I give the Mav's a solid +1 in this match up solely because Luka seems to be on a roll. Maybe you think Tatum is better but... Luka's numbers just speak volumes.

You can't defend against Mavs, you have to outscore them. Cripplers had the best chance to do it imho. OKC could do it, but they doubled down and let the wing to take opened shots just to guard Luka, so PJ and DJJ cooked them. Twolves never was that team, but I think Celtics is a good pair. We have to see how KP will be incorporated to the team (hope to be better than LAC did with Kawhi). In the end it's an uninteresting finals, you can't cheer for any of them, Celtics because it's Celtics (it's like you cheer for LAL) and Dallas because fans don't let you.

The Mavs has no business beating this Boston team. On paper, there is no reason Boston should lose a 7 game series. Yet the Mavs have what they need to get the job done. If for some reason Boston rolls over and let the Mavs win, there should be some serious conversations about splitting up this JT and JB duo because clearly they cannot get it done.
