A video explaining first past the post would be amazing, my family often don't understand our eccentric democratic system. Many of the people I know, see these 5, 10 , 15 percent swings not understanding how impactful it is.

I think that would be a really great idea. It is a very complex system with many nuances like tactical voting that not many people are aware of. I should definitely look into making a video sometime soon. Thank you for the input

I am often involved in elections as I always work as a poll clerk and occasionally the count because I have a passion for the electoral system and it’s a shame most people are not really taught how their vote works and how even a small voting block can entirely swing the election. I think using the 2015 election with UKIP with 20 percent of the vote (if I remember correctly) and 1 seat is probably a really good example of how our electoral process works. It’s not perfect but it favours stability over accuracy and it’s just one of those things. It’s also maybe worth explaining how the devolved powers have different electoral processes compared to the United Kingdom as a whole. Sorry for the ramble!
