This year is gonna be nuts. Between Bloomburrow being an actual inspired new plane with a cool twist, to "committing crimes" in Thunder Junction. I can't wait to commit crimes against an army of squirrels.

Nobody assumed “do smash” was referring to a new keyword or ability. Maybe it’s just talking about tokens or a kindred-specific variety.

@@BaltanTwoThat's because "do smash" has nothing to do with animals and would be strange to make a keyword about it on that plane. But "make offspring" as a keyword would make much more sense in the context of the plane that potential keyword would in. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it will be an actual keyword, but let's not pretend it's not more logical to imagine "Make offspring" as a keyword on Bloomburrow than "Do smash", either.

@@andrewsparkes6275 No, I disagree. These blurbs are to provide context for what each deck does and add some flavor. It’s just as weird as, unless I missed an announcement, assuming Outlaw is a new upcoming creature type based on that one Thunder Junction deck. The cover character may simply be a parental figure, so the tokens are flavored that way. Incidentally, and not that I believe it’s a keyword or ability either, it would be hilarious if WotC started using “smash” as the “dies” for artifacts now lol. They won’t because it’s still a bit awkward (“whenever an artifact is smashed”) but technically saves space much like “enters”.

@@BaltanTwo ...did you read my actual comment? I said I agree that it's unlikely to be an actual keyword. My point was that of the two, IF one WAS a keyword, it is a looottttt more likely to be "Make offspring", on a plane with animals, than "Do smash". The comment I was replying to was saying they are equally unlikely, but from a purely logical basis, that's not true. One makes way more sense as a keyword than the other. Also one of the blurbs mentions "+1/+1 counters", which are indeed a mechanical Magic term, so they do sometimes use mechanical game terms on these blurbs, which disproves your point anyway.

We now know that each 2 color pairing is going to be focused on a creature type (example, golgari is squirrels) so I’m wondering if these 3 color decks are going to incorporate a mix of those creature types the colors are supposed to represent.

Gonna need to gut the cards for the Gruul deck as that is 100% a trait I have been looking for with my "Alchemy" deck I have been sitting on for months. I gutted a Grimbal deck for all the token gen stuff, but there isn't enough "boom" to transform the small artifact tokens into. Hopefully that has enough sac outlets and polymorph like effects to add use that isn't just tied to the commander.
