The 4S Beast! WLTOYS 124019 Brushless! First Look & 2S Test!

Welcome back to the channel!
Today we finally take a look at my 124019 Brushless Conversion!
It has been built for a few weeks now and i think it is finally time to reveal this beast to the world!
My intention was to make a complete brushless conversion tutorial but since this model is almost exactly the same as the 144001 i decided against that idea.

Here is a complete list of parts used on this build:
ESC: Team Orion Vortex R8 130A 2-4s ESC
MOTOR: Surpass Hobby 3660 4200KV
SERVO: JX 1181 MG 17g Mini Servo
GEARING: STOCK WL GEARS
BODY: Phatbodies Attak (Made for 144001. Check out the Hammer body which is for the longer wheelbase)
WHEELS:Contact Foams
Overall just as easy to convert as the 144001 be carful of the glue that is used instead of thread lock on the motor mount and pinion as this can be a pain.. Just use heat it works!!
Purpose of today is purely just to show you guys the final outcome and we also do a quick 2s test outside!
For todays run we use the stock 2200mah 2s lipo but i have on order some high performance 2s and 3s packs with a higher discharge rating than the stock 2200mah
Some may say not an impressive run and i agree but it is a benchmark and a place to start it can only get better from here!
Was also very cold and icy today and traction was an issue but this definitely has 40mph stock 2s on stock gears in it with more grip on a nicer day. Which i dont think is bad at all!

Hope you enjoyed this little first look video and test run on 2s! The big numbers will be coming later but it was nice to get this out today and give it a proper first test. As soon as i can i will be getting this out and doing some proper speed runs to see what this can achieve! Not the fastest first test speed but at least we know it works.. right? Haha Do we go to 100mph with this or the Arrma Typhon V5?! 😏

The fact that you haven't reached 5k subs already is crazy. Your camerawork and setup is very professional and smooth, much better than some of the other RC channels. Your channel deserves so much more.

Thanks man i really appreciate that! The channel is coming along at a nice rate i am trying to make it a little different with some new elements every time and just make it more exciting for my subscribers :) I will just keep working hard and we will see where it goes! But thank you its nice to know the hard work is paying off!

@@beyondRC at leat it's keep growing is good enough for me. Regarding this video i think it quite slow with those setup and also better to fit it with 3650 instead of 540 because they has different of power output.

Another great Vid Ricky, can't wait for it to warm up a bit and dry out and see what you can push it too. That Sg will be mental on brushless...I'm still waiting for mine, been pushed back to end of feb now !!. Onwards and upwards for the channel buddy.

gr8 video and information about these wltoy cars. bro. i make my first purchase of a team associated 1 / 10 full 2wd race bugger. then i starting looking into the 144001which i purchased mainly for speed runs and abit of bashing around. did the adjustments frm your other video which had the car sat lower and the rear shock oil changed to a heavier one. but running stock at da mo. waiting for the upgraded esc and motor etc to arrive then i can start doing some speed runs. keep up da gr8 work. your videos help me alot. cheers

It's looking great! I apologise if I've already stopped by, I built a twin brushless 4000/kv motor 124019 short preview on my channel. I don't think 3s, and 4000kv will get over a 100 but I think with 2 motors I should be able to hear it pretty high if needed. I was actually thinking of using my short body too,until a new one came. Thanks ps, I laid my 2 escs on thier side facing the shell, they fit nicely without cutting anything.

Nice video I look forwards to seeing that run on 4S, stock gearing is good tip and I've hit 104mph on the stock gearing on 3S (And that was with the plastic spur! I've now put all steel gears on it but still stock ratios), 45mph wind here today so I think my next speed test will have to wait until Sunday. Of note the one thing that seems different on the 124019 is the front shocks, I bent a rod and went to 'borrow' one off my 144001 but it was a different length! Stay safe in that lockdown, glad to see someone observing it! It's eased over here but still limited and the rain don't get me started on the rain!

Cheers mate! Should be a little rocket on 4s. The plastic spur can definitely take a beating that's for sure. I didn't know that I thought they ran the same shocks just anodised purple rather than red! Thank you 👍

Thanks mate appreciate that. Wanted to be a bit different and try something new with the body. Think it's come out fairly decent haha. I have seen some of your vids proper epic build and love the fact you are also aiming for the big 100mph! Sometimes risks have to be taken to break records. Just subscribed to you as well😁👍

Mate you should try high performance motorcycle chain wax on you foam tires: it glue the car to the ground for 5 minutes, literally. Better having a clean road or gravel will stick on the tires. I use this on my cheap MAK foam tires and works amazing with 144001.

@@beyondRC I use 3S +3100 KV + 10BL120 and to be honest I trim power 50% most of the time because it is totally overkill :-)

hey that one guy.. i forget his name. 8S Talbot? whatever his name is, he has his LONG JUMP* record holder Typhon on the limitless chassis i think. he added a little clear plastic piece to the back of the shell to keep it sturdy but it looks pretty slick too and i just think it would be a cool mod to this beast, too. put a BeyondRC sticker on it. =D

Yes he does i have seen that and that was sort of the look i was going for with the 124019 obviously completely different leagues in terms of performance but looks wise a little mini LWB Typhon!! Will have another look at that mine is held on with velcro and a single body clip for now! Cheers bro!!

Nah mate you’ll need brushless esc and new servo and receiver.

Fordidn't you have to drill out the stock opinion isn't the shaft on the motor 5 mm not 3.175 Like the stock pinion is

The motor shaft on this 3660 surpass is 3.175 a direct fit for the stock pinion. Excellent point and something to watch out for. Especially for those who are doing this conversion for the first time. 👍

@@beyondRC sorry for another question. What size are the foams? They look smaller than the stock wheels. Would those wheels cause any issues with the stock motor? Thanks in advance if you can answer.

@@dgsgc69 no they won’t cause an issue. Only if going bigger in diameter would you have to consider the strain on the diffs, gearing and motor.

Nice build ! Does this motor have a 5mm shaft ? And the original an 3,1 , how does the original pinion fitts? 🤔

This surpass motor has a 3.1 original motor shaft so the stock pinion fits fine!

You should check out driftamaniacs KZfaq Chanel , he's getting 103 miles an hour on 2 s stock battery stock gearing just messing with the timing of the motor and you're not doing enough run to warm up the motor and ESC, his first one might be 65 miles an hour and progressively gets better after about four or five runs on the same battery 103mph

he is also using an insanely high KV motor 11000KV whereas im using a 4200KV that makes a huge difference. Trying to run that motor on 4s would go POP!

Its a great cheap car and as a buyer if you are happy with its performance out the box there is no reason to upgrade. But i am like a lot of people i enjoy modifying and seeing if i can push the limits a little. Its not for everyone but i enjoy it :)
