It is really amazing to see your videos and very informative. Would you also recommend to do your informative videos on expats like us (especially non-EU people) 🙂 ?

Actually sales after X mas and in summer are huge often 40-50 percent. Also offer hunting online is usually 10-30 percent cheaper and in shops systematically with apps. In Cph there are many super markets close by. U can save a good 30-40 percent on groceries this way. Shopping in Sweden or Germany when on trips is also a good tip.

Hello Mario, thanks for making these videos. Investing in Denmark is difficult so it's great to hear the experience from another expat. Since you have a child, you could also make a video about Børnsparing, which allows to invest 6000 per year, up to 72,000 per child, for 18 or 21 years. And all profit is tax free!!! Of course that is for your child, but since most people would probably invest in their first appartment, car, education (abroad) etc... that is a great way to invest in your kid for cheap!

It's a good point Jonathan! I don't do this one yet because I hope to be rich in 18 or 21 years (lol). But it's one good deal I should explain as well.

@@jonathanlacaille36 please don't forget what the tax-system is about! To help out eachother saving in the big life benefits such as education and healthcare!!! It gets me in the spots when foreigners always talk about avoiding to pay to the community, from which they also benefit 🤔🙄 wish you a merry Christmas 🎄🎅🎁

Hello Mario, thank you for the great information that you're sharing. If you will have time in the future, could you make a video about buying and owning a car in Denmark? More specifically a used vehicle. What are the taxes when buying and registering a used 60000 DDK car for example? Insurance and these green and weight taxes. I will of course try to google it myself, but just in case.

Thanks for the concisely put information! One thing I was wondering: Since public transport is so cheap and wide-ranging how feasible is it to buy groceries in Malmö? Further, since you mentioned the supermarket situation in Denmark is not particularly of your liking, is it any better in Malmö?

attention: new custom rule: any package from outside EU will be checked by the customs service at a fee of DKK 135 + taxes due, regardless of value. and there is import taxes on allmost everything coming outside of EU.
@MarioScianHQ
@MarioScianHQ 2 жыл бұрын
It's a bit more complicated than that - if you order from Amazon.com or other big retailers they don't charge you those fees. You just need to pay the VAT of 25% at check out.

Mario, what happens when you are a gear-head like me who reallly enjoys to have a car? When I buy an Used Danish car from a private individual do I also have to pay VAT and TAX ? I'd buy a 30/40 thousand dkk car that doesn't consume much fuel or pay a high "green tax" annualy. For instance a 2004 volvo V40.
@MarioScianHQ
@MarioScianHQ 2 жыл бұрын
As far as I know you still need to pay all that. But the 150%-ish is the high-end, the rates are lower for cheaper cars. But beyond that I've no clue on cars :D
@Duffstorama
@Duffstorama 2 жыл бұрын
The tax is a registration fee, which is only paid when the car has its first license plates. When buying a used car, there is no additional tax. VAT is still a thing, but the advertised price will include it, and I don't think it applies when buying from a private individual. I am not sure if a 2004 Volvo V40 is especially green, but if I read it correctly, the green tax on that model one in 2022 is 2.250, paid twice per year.

If you're looking into the medium/long term I say yes. Cashflow-wise is a good deal. And I don't expect that the prices would be lower in 5-10 years than they're now. (You never know though :D)

Thinking about that 🤔 It depends on the age difference of the kids, etc. But likely is a good long-term solution, just need three big powerful locks or something not to get the bike stolen 😀
